Yeah. I agree it's a 2-star. The price to get in without working toilets, lack of trees and huge industrial building that looms over you is just something out of a post apocalyptic show. It's more like Chernobyl than a natural lake. Now, I did enjoy the company I was with - I'm required to because it's family. Jk. Also, I didn't go to fish either but I did speak with acid fisherman and they said there are some sizable fish to be caught if that's your thing. We just grilled, drank beverages and played games with the kids. Tip: take a canopy, sunblock, and picnic foods. And be out by sundown or insects will eat you alive. You can get an overnight or yearly pass but I don't see myself being a repeater here. There's other, better water venues. read more

I'm so disappointed in the condition of this mud hole. Braunig lake park is so trashy and unkept. After you waste your money getting in , it's such an ugly park. We found beer cans and random trash all over the grass. I hadn't been to this park in years and only came because I was invited. We just needed to put the boat in the water for 5-10 minutes to see if it would run after working on it at home. $23 entrance fee for 2 adults plus a boat launch fee... Oh Hell No... I explained to the Gatekeeper I would just stay at the entrance while he took the boat out so we could save a few bucks. She said it all cost the same. *sigh* We debated to drive to Canyon where I grew up but due to the fact of time and crowds at any given boat launch around there on a Sunday we decided that wasn't going to work for us on this day, so I offered to let him drop me off at Bill Miller BBQ down the road since we weren't planning on spending any time on the water anyways. Yeah, I'm frugal like that. How am I am spending my time? ... writing this review at BM BBQ! CPS (the park's owner), I've been a customer since 1995. This is so uncool. Thumbs down. We saw the sign for the park and decided to stop by in a whim. DO NOT. This is a privately owned park you have to PAY FOR to the tune of 9$ per adult. The park is poorly kept with booby traps for motor vehicles everywhere. Beware. Thinking of taking your dogs for a nice on leash romp? DO NOT. This place is riddled with sticker burs. The nasty ones that really hurt and get everywhere!! We could not walk our dogs even on the paved portions due to the pervasive presence of burs. read more

It's a nice park but the roads are horrible especially if you're towing a RV or a boat. Lots of trash on the ground as well. It's not that hard to clean up after yourselves. Can't have nothing nice anymore cause people ruin it. read more

This park is something my family and I use every year. This year June 2021 we came out here don't know if it's under new people but the park looks bad. Grass is overgrown kids can't even play. The bathrooms have been taken over by spiders. I'm just really disappointed with how much money it cost to get in here. If you decide to come bring your weed eater. Terrible place full of garbage. The garbage cans were overfilled and the smell was horrible. The restrooms are no monitored. The amount of line are not monitored. I'm sorry but this place is garbage. It is dirty and seems to be unmonitored often. Even with staff during normal business hours. Often find people with 3-4 lines in the water and there's a two pole limit. It has the potential to be such a nice place but it does not seem to be a priority to somebody. It is sad that people treat property this way and I can only imagine what their homes look like. Even worse, it's unmonitored as I said before. Well for one I called them exactly 2 hours ago about the bathrooms the men's and women's over here by the playground area by the party pavilion and they have not even remotely came to clean any of these bathrooms on Thurs. Last weekend me and my husband came here there was no bath soap in there to wash your hands with and the toilet paper that's thrown in there has poop all over it there's poop all over the toilet and they just don't seem to care because my husband informed me that the Cleaning crew there was in there whatever you want to call them were saying will we need a suit who's gonna go clean the bathrooms are you gonna go clean up. If you're a veteran, you might want to bring your DD214 because they won't accept my disabled veteran registration, or ID's from the VA. So $8 per person isn't really worth it if you have a family. Not the cleanest, not respectful fishing will fish on top of you. Definitely don't go fishing at night unless you want to find your vehicle on blocks read more

We fish here at least twice a year. Usually we catch or limit in 2-3 hrs. We always go out in a boat. Not a great location to fish from the shore. We have not seen the trash mentioned in other posts nor have we ever had to wait in line to enter the park. There are several great fishing guides. The worst campsite I have ever booked. Let's start from the beginning coming up was rudely greeted by the front staff one man was trying to say things while his back was to me in a building and I was in my truck and would get angry when asked to repeat himself. Get to the campsite and there is trash everywhere cascarones confetti all over the place, bait tubs, old fishing line with hooks attached, and a number of fish carcasses just thrown about the camp site. When we wanted to start cooking dinner there was no grill which was promised on the website and the fire pit had no topper and was filled with fishing line, cans, and Cheetos bags. So we had to go to the front and buy a cheap grill just to use for the weekend. It amazes me that the company that runs the lake cares so little about it and that people actually go out to that nasty place. If y'all want a good camping experience go to a state park where tpwd actually cares. read more

It's a beautifully maintained RV park with large concrete pads. One major problem is that there are over 250 spots and a total of ten washers. It's a nightmare trying to do laundry here. Their wifi is also slow, so even trying to send emails is a struggle. If they'd add more washers and find better internet service I'd give this place 5 stars. read more

Not a pretty park at all. Fishing is ok but you have to deal with all the fire ants. Water is polluted and smells. A lot of people playing loud music all the time. The dirtiest horribly kept park I've ever been too. Trash EVERYWHERE. I picked up trash blowing around on the ground and floating up on the shore from the water every day. The restrooms near the camping sites were trashed on a daily basis. Toilets clogged. Feces smeared on the walls, toilets and floors. Toilet paper slung around all over the floors. The cleaning crew came around and 'cleaned' them once a day which consisted of hosing the entire restroom with a water hose but maybe one hour after that they were completely destroyed again. There was no park supervision or enforcement of any kind. The midnight noise curfew meant absolutely nothing to anyone staying at the park. Music blaring throughout the night, yelling, etc... And still no park management to manage or enforce this either. Office employees were extremely rude! Not to mention they only had a one lane entrance which had a line of cars backed up out into the feeder road daily. All. Day. Long. So if you've already been at the park and might need to leave for something you will be waiting in that line for at least a half hour minimum to get back in behind the people that haven't paid yet. We paid $87.00 for two adults and two children to camp from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Completely ridiculous given the parks condition and lack of management. I wouldn't pay 50 cents to stay at this park. Do not waste your money or families time on this place. -5 stars. read more
