We didn't want to get a puppy and start all over again. We did check out a few other rescues. We had a sleepover with another rescue and unfortunately the dog didn't work out for our family. However that led us to Brave Bully Rescue. My husband and I had thought about one of their dogs but after talking to Catherine she suggested that with our lifestyle we might be more compatible with a white male Staffshire named Rocky. After meeting Rocky and a few others one day we had a sleepover with Rocky.. Rocky had severe separation issues. It was rough in the beginning. We never dealt with any issues with our 1st dog through out his 15 years of life. We decided to learn about what we could do to help Rocky. It wasn't fair to this sweet baby to not try. He just didn't want to be left alone. It's so unfair to the animal. They solely relay on us as humans to care for them. They inturn can only give unconditional love. My children absolutely adore Rocky. We couldn't imagine our lives without him now.. Catherine, Valerie, Monica and the other fosters absolutely love thier fosters. I can say that they 100% are the advocates for their fosters. They want the very best and will only except it for their pups. What can I say I love these people! We had been looking to add another four legged family member from the bully breed species for a little while when a picture of this precious dog popped up on my FB feed. Upon researching, it brought us to Brave Bully Rescue. I agree with all aspects of their adoption process. The idea of the sleepover is absolutely fantastic. There is absolutely no way to know in one hour if a dog will truly fit in your home, but a weekend or even a week if need be, will really tell you if the two of you will be a good fit. I have seen people balk at their adoption rules and/or fees....and to those people, I say walk on. The bully breed is not just for anyone and it is so very important that it is determined correctly the first time if the dog matches the family or else there is the risk of it coming back to the rescue or worse, end up on the street. Everyone involved in the organization is completely committed to the happiness and well-being of the dogs and I believe this helps drive their success. It's been a year since we found BBR and we have adopted a second dog from them and our whole family volunteers for them whenever we can. Brave bully is one of the best bully rescues I have worked with! I have fostered for them numerous times, transported and assisted with adoptions. They make sure the fur babies are well taken care of in foster care and after adoption! They always ensure the animal sees a veterinarian immediately following its rescue and whenever needed for illness or preventative care. Brave bully sets their fosters up with everything that is needed for the foster dogs you take in from the rescue. Never any confusion, problems or unseen difficulties! If the animal requires training, they will set it up for fosters to bring in to their personal trainer for free and also provide it after adoption! Brave bully has always placed their bullies into the best homes possible for the dog as well as the family. If it happens to not work out as planned, they will accept the animal back into the rescue program to ensure proper placing and care. The staff is all so friendly and effective. My first dog to foster was a beautiful blue named Apollo! His sweet face came across a BBR Facebook page and he melted my heart. I knew nothing about fostering, but BBR helped me with everything. I fostered him through heartworm treatment and into his amazing forever home. I get updates from the adopter and know the short time he was with me changed many lives, including mine. My second foster from BBR was a crazy blonde named Lucy, that we ended up adopting. She has added so much fun and goofiness to our home, we are totally in love. Two years later, I am still a huge advocate of fostering and rescue. Brave Bully takes the dog that is sadly, the most overlooked breed in the shelter. Brave Bully Rescue is run by a team of well educated Bully lovers! They care for all of their fosters equally and promote not only the dogs withing the rescue, but the bully breeds as a whole. They have a few trainers on hand to help with education and proper training. When approached by potential adopters they have them fill out an extensive form. They care about finding your best match and work with you and your current pets to socialize the "pack". I first came upon Brave Bully Rescue, Oct., 2014, when I found a Pit puppy who was an owner turn in on the euth list at Harris County Pound. Monica Febles, Brave Bully Rescue, tagged and pulled him. Unfortunately, "Chance" came down with Parvo and then pneumonia, however, under the care of BBR and their wonderful vet survived even though having high veterinary expenses. BBR also found him a wonderful home. This all happened when Harris County was only allow Bully breeds to go to rescue groups and not allowing adoptions. BBR is an extraordinary group who always does their best to help so many Pit Bulls. They are limited how much they can do because it is so difficult to find committed foster homes. BBR is a blessing not only to the breed but rescue community as well. read more

I have to be honest BBR always amazes me with their commitment to the dogs in their program and their fosters. Not only while they have them in their care but after they've been adopted. They go above and beyond to make sure their dogs have the best vet care and food on the market. They provide training and follow up support if needed and have always been very helpful with any questions or concerns. My stepson adopted his dog Kya from them a little over a year ago and she's been such a blessing to our family. I would definitely recommend adopting from them. It's good to see a group of such dedicated volunteers work so hard to help better this very misunderstood breed. We need more groups like them. read more

I absolutely love bully breeds and first became a foster , I have taken the dogs to some really cool events ! They have a very strict adoption foster and adoption program so you never have to worry about these Dogs going to the wrong home . They work with several good vets and get the best care that is possible . I am proud to be in the group , love there fund raisers . And I loved the dogs so much that I adopted 3 a family that the bond is unbelievable ! I met the BBR after my first Bullie Sadie Rose passed away and I wanted to donate her meds to them. After meeting Monica I fell in love with what she and the others were doing for these beautiful dogs. I decided to foster and then adopt an 8 week old female Bullie we call Zoë Rose. It was such a great experience I wanted to help out any way I could. On occasion I help with transporting to and from other fosters and even helped on a BBR photo shoot which was a lot of fun. My family adopted a 10 week old puppy from BBR last summer. He was just what we were looking for. The sleepover idea is a great one - it gave us the chance to make sure we were really ready to deal with the needs of a puppy. The adoption included vaccinations/rabies, neutering and microchipping.
