SERVICE: Sent an email for a custom order heart cake on Wednesday 2/12/25 for a pick-up of Saturday 2/15/25. I used the cake ordering form on their website as a reference for what information they needed for the cake order: size, flavor, name, email, telephone#, pick-up date, pick-up time. I included reference photos for what style I wanted it to look like. They called me back in about an hour to tell me which of the reference photos they could replicate and quoted me a price of $90 for a 10-inch custom order purple heart cake. FOOD: I requested that they make a 10-inch purple and lavender-colored heart-shaped cake. I sent a couple of reference photos. They were able to make a close replica of one of my reference photos and matched the exact colors that I wanted. They did the lettering on top of the cake at the time of pick-up. The quality of the strawberry fruit cake was amazing! The flavor was subtle and the cake was soft, spongy. There was real fruit inside of the cake, but it was not strawberry, so I was a bit let down by that. I also wish the heart shape was a bit more pronounced. Very nice customer service and if you want a cake they require that you order at least 48 hours in advance or else they will charged an additional fee if order within 48 hours. They don't open Sunday so if you need a cake for Sunday, you need to pick up by Saturday. I love that they have other flavor cakes besides just my favorite mango and it comes in different sizes, or you can get it by the slice at the display. They have a little mini dining area where you can sit to have coffee and cakes, but it's a bit outdated. The shop is on a busy street on grand so parking could be hard at time. Bravo is my family's favorite!!! Whenever I'm in charge of getting a cake for birthdays, graduation parties, and whatever crazy event I'm invited to I almost ALWAYS ORDER from here! Both my parents (typically Asians af) do not have a sweet tooth and generally doesn't care for cakes but also love the cakes from here because they are not too sweet, little and airy made with fresh fruit. Usually I order online but one time my order didn't go through and the staff was willing to accommodate! I ordered a last minute full sheet cake for my brother's graduation and they were so nice to take my order. The owner said she was overbooked for a wedding but since she knows I always order and support their business, she would do my order by 2pm that day! Online ordering is super duper easy or you can call to place an order (I would recommend emailing if no answer after a couple of tries). With COVID, it does seem like they are asking for consumers to pay in advance but that's fine with me because it's so worth it! They also have tea, boba, cake by the slice and other sweets here! We ordered a cake for a graduation celebration from here. I'm not usually a fan of cake because of how dry they can be and the icing is usually overly sweet. However, the cake from Bravo was unlike any cake I've ever had. First off, it was beautifully decorated with the fruit on top and then the icing wasn't too sweet at all. The cake was so moist and fluffy with more fruit inside. The bakery isn't huge but it's a hidden gem. People seem to love their cream puffs too. Oh, Bravo. I remember back when you first opened, a little Taiwanese bakery serving light, airy cakes stuffed full of fruit and a small menu of vegetarian dishes. Since I found Bravo! on the iPhone app, Veg Out, two months ago, I have been stopping in on a weekly basis in attempts to sample every vegetarian/vegan mock-meat option on the menu! The staff is always friendly and extremely prompt (less than five minute wait between ordering and receiving the meal)! Seating is a bit limited, so bringing a group of more than four could get tight if there are other customers dining-in. Additionally, there are two or three small tables set up outside when the weather is accommodating to outside dining. The portion sizes are huge and each entree is under $7. The sesame "chicken" is currently my favorite meal here. It would be amazing if they had vegan desserts available...maybe someday! I come from a Vietnamese family and my husband is Laotian and we both grew up on Chinese style cakes with fruit and whipped topping. There are limited choices to where you can buy these cakes in Minnesota, it's down to two and Bravo has a great variety and better decorations. I've ordered cakes from here several times, the most recent for my brother's graduation party, we got a green tea with fruit cake and added the graduation cap decoration for an additional cost. They make it easy to order online if you aren't going to be too specific on how you want it to look and the pricing is resonable for what you get. The cake was a hit and it was gone in literally 10 minutes. People were grabbing a slice for themselves and then coming back to get more for the rest of their table at the party. I highly recommend their cakes as they are not too sweet and can feed a lot of people. We are already going to be ordering another cake for my son's third birthday later this month. I walked past this bakery so many times before I realized it was a Chinese bakery that sells the cakes I grew up eating in Los Angeles and sorely missed ever since I moved to MN. The storefront is so unassuming, but once I finally noticed the unmistakable spongey Angel food cake covered in fresh whipped cream frosting and fresh fruit, I bee-lined right in. I always get their taro cake slice--it's light and refreshing on the palate. Their strawberry cake is also wonderful. I have yet to try their cream puffs, which I've read are super popular. I stopped by this bakery today after finding out that they have Taro cake! The shop is pretty small but it's really cute and there are about 3 tables and a small bar/stool area for seating. The server behind the counter was really nice and answered my questions about cake orders. I couldn't decide between the taro cake and green tea cake, so I ordered both (though they also had other flavors such as strawberry, mango, blueberry, etc.). They also had some sort of cheesecake bread that I will probably try next time. The taro cake was light and I could tell that they used real taro to make it! I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing. The green tea flavor was also really light and yummy but I think I prefer the taro cake over it. It's definitely a cute shop if you want to catch up with a friend or something because you can get drinks along with your cake here. It was a strawberry sponge fruit cake filled with those creamy fruit mixed fillings. I paid $30 for an 8" cake and overall was very satisfied. Very nice for what you get. Other competitors are similar but this place is better because it is a little bit cheaper and comes with the option of more cake flavor choices and designs.
