Alright so I've been to cosettas so many times that I know exactly what I want and where it is. My family and I frequent the deli and pasticceria, only going to the actual restaurant if we have a big group. The pasticceria is sooo cute and decorated like a little cafe in Italy. I appreciate the floors and decoration, they 100% lean into the Italian culture. The service is always great, everyone smiles and makes sure your selection is to your liking. I've gotten coffee, macaroons, gelato, everything from here and they never disappoint. It's always a great time, especially meeting friends or just grabbing some good sips on the go. I had a gelato with one scoop of this raspberry sorbet and another scoop mango, I loved the fruitiness and texture. It's a bit pricey which knocks down a star, but otherwise a lifelong favorite. P.S. Holy moly. I hope my Dr. didn't see me in here. I think I gained 5lbs just looking. The 1st thing I tried was the Sfogliatelle. Oh man, crispy Italian pastry filled with ricotta crème. They are smaller than a lobster tail but similar. We got almond croissants for the next morning in our hotel. Other family member had a variety of sweets including gelato for the little ones. This place looks amazing the moment you walk in. It is connect to another place, but oh boy it is amazing. The gelato was so yummy. I got the strawberry and vanilla gelato. It was so soft and tasty. Also, I got the mini new york cheesecake and chocolate cheesecake, two cream puff, one chocolate and vanilla. Now the vanilla cream puff was still crispy and the stuffing inside taste so good. Usually other places the stuffing is too sweet, however here it was not too sweet nor too plain. The cream inside was just perfect, same goes with the chocolate. Both cheesecake was amazing, it is however super sweet. I don't usually have a strong sweet tooth, but definitely would get the mini cheesecake again and the puff. It was extremely busy when we went and the workers were obviously working very hard but still were extremely nice and helpful. The coconut and pistachio gelatos are absolutely delicious! The cannolis and cheesecakes were amazing as well. Only negative thing is that things do seem to be a bit over priced. read more

We decided to pick up a dessert for dinner at a friends house. And because I'm headed to Sicily soon, so I decided to pickup Italian treats at Pasticceria at Cosettas. The huge selection blinded me to my intentions of dropping a few lbs before my trip! I finally chose 2 exquisite little cheesecakes & 2 beautiful cannoli. But I could not resist the one called a Lobster Claw.p, it was large enough for 2 so I added one to the order. The treats were packaged in a lovely box and we were happy handing it to our friends. THE BEST JUST GOT BETTER! Yesterday evening I was thinking about going to Cosetta's for desert, but we've been trying to back away from sweets. I muttered, "Oh, man." My wife says, "What?" I've alway thought that Cosetta's Pasticceeria has the best cannoli I've tried in Minnesota. But, like most, they were soggy - but still the best. I was looking through the display case, and didn't see the canolli, only shells. Yes, that's right folks, they now fill the shell when you order them, so that the filling does not make the shell soggy. GENIUS! Needless to say, we enjoyed our snacks on the patio. Gelato macarons opera cakes and more what could one ask for? The gelato was smooth, creamy and delicious. The "after eight" a mint with chocolate was herbaceous and minty with taste of fresh, not artificial, mint! The "ciocalata" us a deep, dark, delicious chocolate. The macarons, soft on the inside with that wonderful crack at the top are filled with different fruit flavors. I highly recommend the raspberry as it had the best flavor. Wish I had read the previous reviews before coming here and getting my hopes up. I don't recommend this bakery for someone looking for a good Italian pastry. I usually look for a bakery that I can rely on for good desserts for special occasions or dessert for company; however, I wouldn't go to this bakery for either of those things... I agree with previous comments about the staff not knowing the desserts, but my rating is really based on taste, which unfortunately there was none. Growing up in an Italian family that actually knows how to say sfogliatelle makes your standards for Italian pastries pretty high. I didn't expect the best cannoli or sfogliatelle, but I never tasted such a bland cannoli or sfogliatelle. Even with the chocolate chips the cannoli cream didn't give it any flavor. Cannoli cream isn't supposed to have such a muted taste. Cannoli cream is so unique compared to other pastry creams and these cannolis didn't have that rich taste. The sfogliatelle was just loaded with orange zest and was dry, as if adding a ton of orange zest would give it a good flavor. The millefoglie was not bad. The custard layer tasted very nice. The whipped cream was a little bland and tasted like the whipped cream that's bought in bulk from a Restaurant Depot type place. read more

My, my! Everything that's displayed in their glass cases are beautiful! The macarons are delightful. If you're curious to know something, anything, about an item before buying it (especially the baked creations), though, you're out of luck, because staff often don't have a clue about what they're selling. It seems they're just there to receive your order, take your money and hand you your purchase. It'd be really helpful if all counter staff working know at least 'something' about each item they're selling. They ought to be able to describe flavors and textures, and maybe offer comparisons to other similar items so as to be able to actually "help" their customers. read more

Pasticceria, located inside Cossetta's, is like a black hole. One minute, you arrive and say hello to the person behind the counter and the next minute you're walking out the door with a box of unknown - but tasty - items and Pasticceria has about $20 of your hard earned cash. Luckily, everyone that works there has the patience of a Saint and understands that you'll need lots of time to soak it all in. They'll answer all your questions and never make you feel rushed, even when there's a huge line. Every time I visit, I see new things and not just like different items that aren't available all the time. There's just so much stuff. You MUST get a macaron. They are so freaking amazing! I even got the last little mango macaron, thinking it must be day old or all dried out. Nope. It was perfection! I just discovered the shortbread cookies and lemme tell you.... do not gloss over that section of the case just because it isn't as impressive looking as the first couple. I have a love affair of all things lime or lemon and the key lime shortbread cookies are what dreams are made of. If you blink you might miss them. They're about the size of a dime. I don't know how this is even legal. I came in here looking for a little sugar fix and walked out $16 poorer, dazed, overwhelmed, and ecstatic over my treasures. There is SO MUCH STUFF in the delicious pastry cases that it's hard to narrow it down. I wanted to order one of everything, but that would have been overkill, since they had at least 50 sweets to choose from. Italian fancy pastries, tiramisu, tarts, cupcakes, cookies, chocolates, macarons, cakes, cheesecakes, cannoli, things that I had no idea existed. I had to ask what half of the things were, and then added some to the box. The service was incredible- super friendly and helpful and patient. I'm sure they are used to people coming in stunned when they see the display of deliciousness. My favorite things were this little circular green thing with a cherry on top (not sure what it was), peanut butter tart, and the cheesecakes. Several of the tiny cookies were very good too, There wasn't anything that I was disappointed in. I came back in a week later for round two, and brought some stuff home for my kiddo to try. I had a eclair and grandeur(hazelnut cream and chocolate cake covered with a smooth chocolate outside). The custard in eclair is tasty but not too sweet, so creamy and soft, absolute contrast with crunchy outcast, savored it longer, you can taste a mild flavor of egg and butter. The grandeur is the highlight of my day, hazelnut flavor is booming in my mouth, definitely sweet but a very delicate balance, and it perfected with a sip of coffee. Stopped by Pasticceria for some real Italian desserts after I saw a picture of a cannoli on Yelp. The place looks awesome with all the desserts displayed on glass cases. The cannoli was awesome and taste like the real cannoli in Italy. I love it. The filling was made with real mascarpone cheese with chocolate chunk. Yum! The napoleons was very tasty but a bit sweater due to the icing decor on top. The tiramisu was awesome and had always been my favorite. The coffee in the tiramisu is as bitter as other i has tried before. Very nice decor around the tiramisu cake. One of my newest favorite is the lobster tail. Oh so yummy! If you don't like sweet desserts then this is it. The cone is a very nice crunchy, flaky croissant like shell with very creamy filling for a perfect bit of crunchy and melt in your mouth delicious desserts. I will definitely go back to the place and definitely getting a lobster tail again. The ingredients used in these desserts taste like they are froreal high quality highly graded ingredients. Move over Cafe Latte. With desserts, pastries, gelato, and full cakes this place wins. Not to mention I think the overall food product is better quality here. If you're still interested in the foods Cafe Latte has to offer such a soup, etc, you can always step next door to the adjoining Cossetta's (which alsi has many more options). So if you're in town, this is a no brainer good decision. If you were downtown Saint Paul and looking for a quick after dinner dessert to grab, this is a no-brainer. This is the bakery right next to Cosetta's and it lives up to the bar set by the restaurant neighbors next door. Many of the reviews of this place speak to the bakery items (and from a visual perspective, they did all look extremely delicious), our group went to the end of the bakery to partake in the gelato they have available. The employee who helped us was extremely patient with our group as we all tried multiple samples of each gelato flavor, and converting each flavor from its Italian name to a relevant flavor with which we could associate. I ended up going with Mango and Nutella (don't remember the exact name of the Nutella flavor), and it was so savory. I went with a small, and with how rich this gelato was, anything bigger would have been too much. The mango was by far my favorite, sweet and rich. Many of my friends had the caramel flavor, also very good. No matter which gelato flavor (or bakery item) you decide on, it's hard to go wrong. The marble top bar was shipped in piece by piece and is a wonder to behold (along with their gelato selection!).
