I ended up with Dr Torres being my primary OB, but only because her schedule worked better with mine. Both these doctors were amazing! They made me feel so comfortable and were very knowledgeable. I feel that Dr Torres was the reason my delivery went so smoothly and stress free. I also noticed that the wait time was sooo short compared to the doctors office I was first at. They usually take me back a couple minutes after I checked in. My appointments would only take about 15 minutes from the time I got there. The staff there are all very friendly and nice also. I loved the nurses (I think their names were Kristin and Erica?) I refer people all the time to Dejong and Torres and I will definitely be using Dr Torres to deliver all my babies.

I was never offered a replacement Dr. When time came to refill my maintenance meds, the office ignored the pharmacy's requests and only after I called them, did they tell me I need to come in (after just seeing my dr in August) for an appointment with another dr as a new patient! I've been with Palos Med for nearly 10 yrs. The staff is incompetent to say the least. I should have been notified before my scripts ran out to sign up with one of their other drs, if that's their policy or find a new one elsewhere. I'm sure the remaining drs are fine but whoever runs this office isn't. I wouldn't recommend this group unless you're prepared to deal with a revolving door of Drs and staff.

They ask you to arrive early to your appointment and then make you sit and wait for over an hour like your time is not important. Nothing but issues with this place. I've been wrongfully charged for things that I did not request, I have had issues with trying to get my medication even though the issues have been addressed previously and noted. Still waiting to have my script properly filled after calling everyday this week. I was lied to being told their own policy was state law when it's not a state law and now they want me to pay for the bill. No thanks for this place seek care elsewhere.

This guy is an awesome surgeon. He's also very nice and takes his time with his patients,…read moreexplaining treatment and reassuring them. HOWEVER: I was with my elderly parent who had a cast removed by Dr. Atkenson. The blade did not automatically stop and despite my parent's screaming for him to stop, he continued. End result: 27 cuts that broke the skin, some of which got infected. (Luckily, no MRSA.) We complained and he said "I did the best I could!" The nurse said, "Oh, this happens all the time, it's why we do this at the office and not the hospital, because of the screaming!" This was unlike any cast removal I have ever witnessed or heard about. If you fracture something, you can do no better than to choose Atkenson as your surgeon. But DO NOT allow him to remove your cast...ask for a qualified tech or nurse who knows how to handle equipment. Before the above incident, I have recommended this man to my friends. Now, I tell them about the cast removal. If you don't know how to handle a sharp instrument, DON'T !!!
