The owner/director Is really passionate about what she does, and they model the school on Christian values. I've had really positive experiences with almost all the staff as well. Any concerns I've had have been addressed and I really believe Ms. Marilyn cares about the children and their families. That being said, she can be a little scatter-brained. If you need to talk to her, and have her full attention, it's best to call or visit during an "off" time where there's not tons of people dropping off/picking up kids. Again, I think she really cares, but she can be forgetful sometimes. There did seem to be a lot of teacher moving around for about 9 months during late 2012, early 2013. But the staff movement seems to be minimal now and they seem to have a pretty solid crew. Ms. Candy, Ms. Stella, and Ms. Suzi have been by far my favorite teachers. Get to know the teachers. It can be hard when you are working long hours to see the teachers, because Ms. Marilyn will send them home as soon as she is able. (She runs a very tight, budgeted, ship), but it's important. It's much more effective to give an important message to your child's teacher than to depend on Ms. Marilyn to relay the message. It's very clean, and well maintained. Both my girls seem to love it there, (even the baby) and I know they are well cared for. I would and do recommend this place to anyone that asks. Improvements I'd like to see: I don't think the kids are outside enough. They do go outside some, but I think it should start earlier, and be more often. They only go out when the weather is really, really nice. Too much screen time. At the beginning and end of the day and during the summer, there's a lot of screen time. The summers aren't as structured and they use the TV's to keep the kids under control when it's drop-off/pick-up time. And they start watching TV too early. Nutrition: The food quality is pretty meh nutrition wise. It's all safe, and very kid friendly, just not the healthiest. Again, I think this has something to do with budget, and the fact that there are some lower income families that come, and it's important they eat something. For example, a breakfast for my 18 month old (at the time) was 1/2 a pop-tart and a piece of fruit with some milk. I am probably on the more conservative side, but I don't think kids that young have any business eating the equivalent of cake for breakfast. Technology: I think a lot more could be done electronically. It'd be nice to have a camera system like some of the chain daycare/pre-schools in the Houston area so that you could peek in during the day. Being able to pay/get billed online would be nice too. As well as being able to access a calendar of events, email teachers and etc. She could use a web designer. Again, overall, it's a terrific place. And I have absolutely no concerns about cleanliness, kindergarten readiness, or safety. I'd make the same decision again - without a doubt.

The Clarion is apart of the Brazosport College in a separate building . Parking is free and zero hassle. Getting in and out of the venue was a total breeze. Seats were roomy and comfortable. Acoustics are wonderful as well. It appeared that most attendees are season ticket holders for the theatrical events, not many hard core concert goers like myself. During the concert the performer (Wynonna Judd) mention that the sponsors weren't into loud music and was asked if the band could turn it down a few notches. Bummer!!. Still an outstanding performance! ! I think they bring in a big performer at the beginning of the season, then the rest of the season plays and the orchestra. I believe the Venue is 600 seats tops! So, not a bad seat in the entire place. My original tickets were Orchestra V but I was able to upgrade to row M, because a kind season ticket holder had an extra ticket she left at the box office. Never hurts to ask!! If you are interested in seeing a performance here The Clarion will not disappoint. Only bad thing no alcohol! So, load up in the parking lot.

Now that I'm finally leaving Brazosport College, it's time for the post-BC review I've had planned…read moresince late 2025. I began attending BC online in 2024. While I had some good classes, I also experienced disorganized courses, unclear expectations, and inconsistent standards. One psychology professor had a strict AI policy while generating assignment prompts with ChatGPT herself. All I have to say is, please learn to practice what you preach. Unfortunately, my experiences with administration became much worse. TMGT3325 was the class Brazosport College apparently refused to let me escape from. I requested to withdraw on April 3, 2026. On April 20, an advisor emailed and left a voicemail confirming my late withdrawal had been approved, so I stopped participating. Except I apparently wasn't done. In May, I discovered I was still officially enrolled. After multiple escalations involving an advisor, Admissions, the D2L director, and the Registrar's Office, I was finally dropped on May 5. It took 32 days for BC to successfully remove me from one class. And unfortunately, Spring 2026 still wasn't finished with me. My biggest problem involved financial aid. I had received several scholarships and was asked to write Scholarship Gratitude Letters. Then, on May 13, I was informed that my Spring financial aid had been reduced/removed and that I suddenly owed BC $1,735.50. A hold also prevented future registration and obtaining transcripts. I was completely blindsided. Part of that balance resulted from scholarships I had already been awarded being reversed. BC's own website describes scholarships as gifts that do not need to be repaid. Imagine receiving scholarships, writing letters thanking the donors, and then discovering those awards had been reversed and you now owed the college money. After weeks of trying to get answers, Financial Aid explained that an enrollment change caused my Pell Grant to be recalculated and my scholarships to be reversed. They clarified this was not a Return to Title IV calculation. But when I confronted them about what this was actually doing to me financially, the response essentially became: it's policy. I explained that I was a first-generation student from a low-income household, had maintained a strong GPA, completed my remaining coursework, and was still pursuing my degree. I was told there was no formal appeal process to reinstate the awards. That infuriated me. BC could advertise scholarships as money that doesn't have to be repaid, award me those scholarships, have me thank the donors, reverse the money afterward, leave me with a four-figure balance, and then hide behind "policy." I basically became terrified of touching my enrollment at all because another change could potentially create another financial-aid adjustment. I wasn't asking them to magically erase every rule that applied to me. I wanted clear information before those rules blew up my account. My Summer aid eventually covered the $1,735.50 balance. I didn't owe BC anymore, but the damage to my trust had already been done. Unfortunately, it still doesn't stop there. Because the unholy month of August 2026 approached. While I was completing Summer courses and preparing to transfer for Spring 2027, BC experienced a cyber incident. D2L and student email became unavailable. Communication became so inadequate that I resorted to publicly questioning the college on Facebook for answers. D2L did not become available to me again until August 17, leaving me approximately three days to finish my remaining finals before August 20. I was now speedrunning the end of my semester while trying to finalize my academic record for transfer. But apparently August had one more surprise for me. On August 18, a Financial Aid Processing Hold reappeared despite written confirmation in July that my holds had been removed. I was then told I might need tax documentation that nobody had previously requested. Student email was still unavailable, so I had to contact Financial Aid through the same D2L I had only just regained access to. At this point, I was done. I went to BC in person, cancelled my financial aid, and then I left for good. I was no longer interested in wondering whether another balance, hold, recalculation, missing document, system failure, or unexplained requirement would suddenly appear. I hope my experiences shed light on issues that need to be examined and let students with similar experiences know they aren't alone. For new students coming to BC, I wish you good luck because you will need it here. Don't rely on word of mouth, always get everything in writing, and absolutely ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF.

We arrived here on a Saturday in Mid-March on a sunny day where the track was filled with vehicles and nothing but sounds of engines and tires screeching. If you're a racing guy or someone who loves cars, then this was paradise. As you pull in here, there's a garage with a bleachers area that oversees the track. The track has some sharp turns making it a fun yet nervewracking experience if you're not familiar with the track. By my second and third laps in the car, I got the hang of it and decided to let it rip. Boy oh boy, I get why people are obsessed with vehicles and engines since the feeling from the acceleration is pure ecstasy from a thrill perspective. Depending what events are here, I encourage people to try this at least once for the experience. It's not cheap so be prepared to spend some cash for the need for speed!

My class was for "all combatants" and included two civilians, with the rest being active duty LEOs, security officers, and/or veterans. We had three instructors for these 11 people. Totally worth the $130. The 8am to 5pm course was about 75% classroom and 25% hands on practicing with tourniquet drills, wound packing on dummies, and demonstration of carrying wounded away from danger. Most of the classroom focused on triage assessment and tactics in a battlefield situation (drawing a lot from Iraq and Afghanistan), but is easily grasped in active shooter scenarios. There is a lot of useful information. There is also a store to buy relevant medical gear, and other classes. But there was not aggressive salesmen, which was nice. The course comes with a year membership in NAEMT, which has numerous side benefits. Also provides 8 hours of continuing education for LEO. Completion certificate is included, but this does not count as legal medical credentials. But for the average concealed carrier, LEO, or security officer who isn't a paramedic or EMT, that's just fine. If you want to know the basic life saving skills when you are shot, this course will make sure you know what to do!
