In highschool I learned to scuba dive and immediately began searching for any body of water deep enough to submerge. After highschool I wanted nothing to do with college but,I'd promised my grandmother. The only thing that truly interested me was the ocean. So after much research on schools offering such courses of study,I landed on Texas A&M Moody College of Marine Science. I didn't even visit. Just applied,was accepted and moved to Galveston. It's still a small campus but power packed. The hard earned reputation of being an excellent university extends to this campus located on an island adjacent to Galveston proper. I could not have asked for a better learning experience or environment to learn in. My physics professor went on to become President of The entire Texas A&M system if this gives an idea of the quality there . Fantastic School Note: Maria W. But the catch is, since it's located on its own island, all of the majors are centered around guess what marine life. How nice is that? So if you plan on becoming a doctor or anything in the medical field, you'll need to major in marine biology or sciences. If your interested in engineering, they have marine engineering. And the list goes on... The school caters most to freshmen as you can as if you were a transfer student, you could only transfer in 24 credits and most of them have to be liberal arts, no sciences. Yippee!! Also, the campus is dull, tiny, and looks and feels raggedy. I'm sure Raggedy Ann and Andy would love to call this their new home. No greenery, scenery, or beautiful art nor architecture. Just construction and Galveston beach. This university is home to more male residents than females. The same traditions they hold high at TA&M main is the exact same as this location and they claim the Corpus Christi, Commerce, West Texas, Kingsville, Prairie View, Tarleton, Central Texas, and etc isn't the same. Even the games, all that the same. Well, maybe not you may get more diversity in the student body than at the main campus. The campus tour was average Abe, I wouldn't wanna tour it anymore. As the building looked dull and lifeless. With tuition being so high, the least they can do is make the campus look more attractive. Even the visitor centre looked and felt dirty, old, and antiquity. Our tour guide was average, even though he was a senior he acted as if he didn't know much about the campus. Lots of uhs and asked a question. Oh yeah, this is strictly a dry campus. No one can have alcohol, not even if you are above the drinking age and not freshmen. I'm so glad I'm not into living the Aggie's dream in order survive on this earth.

There counselors are from the bottom of the barrel. One son was required to take 3 extra classes…read morebecause they kept changing the requirements. It was not true. My son was taught to honor adults and these people were suppose to be there to help students. That is WHY YHEY DON'T LET PARENTS TALK WITH SCHOOL STAFF, because adults would catch on to there graft. Another son has just been told half the classes he took, because of another counselor, were not needed, buy wasted his time and money. The school itself is good, but their counselors are bad.

I want to file a complaint with Texas Higher Education and find a way to get the word out about this institution. Attend University of Houston. The main reason we spent a lot of time on this campus is because this is where Barbie has done a lot of her long marathon distance type running. They host a lot of runs here on this beautiful wooded campus and it has so much greenery that it's pretty amazing to be honest. I am taking mainly night classes and online classes here.I really like this campus because it's not a big campus and the parking is great. It's kind of in a neighborhood so it's very quiet and I feel safe when I am leaving or going to class in the evening. The majority of the study body are adults who work full-time or a SAHM who are seeking to earn a degree from a creditable University. The prices for tuition is not as steep as UH main campus. I do wish the library was bigger and the campus stayed open later than 10 pm. It's pretty cool that on random nights they give free snacks/ pizza and drinks for the students. Tonight, a local teacher here in Galveston that is from southern India taught us to make 3 courses of their cuisine. Class took place in the culinary school and we got to eat what we cooked and it was fabulous. The college is cute, well maintained and offers a lot of courses for a junior college

I completed the first semester with hopes that maybe next year things would be different. Since in my first semester I received my books late (towards the end) and the professor just runs around to the next place to sit down and teach nothing. I paid for my second semester but once I asked for a refund they denied me I spoke with the dean of the university and still lead me with no help I payed for a 2nd semester that was not given there a scam. Half of the things we were supposed to be learning was missing if you ask the professor for something needed to learn he would say someone stole it. I wonder why they could do such a thing if you leave student unattended with tools like that I would want to take them home as well and see maybe if someone else would like to show me how to use them. I'm very disappointed with this class and wish I would have just went somewhere else to actually feel better about my career and more passionate this place will turn you down completely. And let's not forget that I still haven't received my certificate for completing the first semester of the program I had to continuously call and inform them that I never received it I'm serious this place is a joke.
