This review is not about the value of the price of admission since they merely ask for donations and sell art, but I had to leave after just a few minutes due to the dark nature of the content. I feel horrible for whoever has subjected themselves to creating these exhibits... very dark energy and an angry view of the world. I see the other reviews are positive so I understand I'm in the minority. This was a dark experience for me. read more

"So we're going to an old barn in the middle of the woods, in rural Vermont, to see a bunch of puppets from the 1970s?" With a lead in like that, what's not to sound like the start to a horror movie? Turns out, you could set a pretty good slasher flick here, with the multiple semi abandoned barns filled with massive marionette puppets of political figures on days past. While once a month the theater troupe puts on a live show (featuring puppets and surprisingly bread!) the rest of the days of the month you can just wander through the puppets and sets across multiple barns and two floors. While not exactly a destination to explicitly head to, if you're in the northern reaches of Vermont worth a stop in to see something that you may never have seen before and will likely never see again read more

Revolutionary and traditional at the same time which is a triumph. Bread and Puppet has been creating art and performances and sourdough bread for decades. The museum is incredible and a performance will be sure to spark conversation and intrigue. A must see for passing through Glover Vermont! read more

A Vermont institution. The museum alone is worth the trip, but the outdoor "circus" on a clear summer's day often provides startling revelations filled with humor, empathy and anger at currents events. The property is beautiful and the sourdough bead at show's end is fantastic, although if you dip it in the aioli sauce, you will smell of garlic for days. Puppetry is an immensely powerful medium of expression and the big puppets, often brought out at the end of the day, are extremely moving. Long live Bread and Puppet. read more
