I hate giving a small business a bad review but Danielle missed both my son's tongue tie and his Laryngomalacia diagnosis. That all aside, her advice was terrible for us and I believe it's part of why we never got where we wanted to with breastfeeding. I waited years to write this review to give myself space from it emotionally but now that I have a second child and such a different breastfeeding journey, it's even more clear how damaging and frankly traumatic my experience was. I could point to a few things, but probably the worst of it was when she suggested I just pump and not bother putting my baby on my breast more than once daily only days after I gave birth as I was building up my supply. That advice didn't work for us and was so wrong on so many levels. With this review I hope to spare someone from the same experience I had. And if you're out there struggling right now, remember you breastfeeding does not have anything to do with how good of a mother you are! read more

Danielle came highly recommended to me by our pediatrician and thank god I reached out! I really struggled with breastfeeding the first 5 weeks after my son was born. He spent the first night in the NICU so I started pumping right away which got production up. Pumping then became an easy and familiar process. When I first attempted to breastfeed in the early weeks, he would either fall asleep on the boob after getting my nipple shield, pillows and props setup or he would still be hungry after each feeding so I would have to pump, fill up bottles, bottle feed, clean parts, and store milk anyway which was creating 1-hour feeding sessions. I felt very defeated and not hopeful that breastfeeding would ever work for us. I was convinced I was going to be an exclusive pumper and would have to stick out the crazy pumping process and lugging that gear around with me. In the interest of giving breastfeeding a real chance, I hired Danielle for three in-home sessions together which was the best decision ever! She was absolutely fabulous and prioritized all of my visits. She came prepared with lots of tips and strategies, a scale to measure the baby's milk intake for each session, as well as info sheets on nipple care specific to my needs. Her calm demeanor created a good vibe for each session and she taught me to have confidence that this would happen. It was after that last session that I stopped using props and I kept the mindset that we would figure this out and catch our groove. I can now say thanks to her, my son and I are still successfully breastfeeding 4 months later which is a miracle with more months ahead! I would highly recommend Danielle as a Lactation Consultant for in-home visits and she is covered by insurance. My 5week old and I have been having issues around positioning and fussiness while breastfeeding. We'd been supplementing with formula, and there was so much frustration from the baby and I that we were ready to throw in the towel. We worked with Danielle on weight gain, which was a very intensive process that required close monitoring by the pediatrician. Danielle created an intensive plan at the first visit to our home and checked in frequently as we were implementing it. She checked in via a phone call every few days and was available by phone and text. I called her on a Sunday night, per the recommendation of my pediatrician, after a frustrating 48 hours with my 1 week old, who was taking 30-60 minutes to latch. She came to my house the next day and spent 2.5 hours with me - she explained the issues I was encountering, helped me adjust my nursing positions, and also gave me and my husband the confidence to add more structure to our feeding schedule, which helped us feel more relaxed. Danielle has been a most wonderful resource to me, of which I have been so appreciative especially being a first time mom. She does home visits and tries her best to come as soon as possible (eg within 2 days of calling, in my experience), which is so valuable when you desperately need help! She also types out detailed notes for you to have as a resource, provides additional handouts, and knows where to send you to get things like APNO cream. Danielle goes above and beyond by providing phone and text messaging support beyond the initial appointment, which feels so good to have an expert on hand when the going gets tough, or even just when you have questions. In fact, Danielle once returned my call within an hour and spoke with me for almost 30 minutes when I had concerns, 10 weeks after my in-person appointment!
