There are two sides of UMass University Campus. The best part is the hospital itself, the worst by…read morefar is the ER and event that is divided. Here is what I mean. The doctors and especially the nurses I have dealt with through several surgeries and illnesses have been top notch and caring. No complaints and I have total trust in them especially in cardiology, neurology, vascular and diabetes care. They get five stars. The care in the ER, again especially from the nurses, is exceptional. Friendly and caring. They too get five stars. The problem is that when you need emergency care you first need to get triaged, this is what is so destructive to the UMass reputation. The people who staff the emergency check in are easily flustered and if you approach to ask why you have been sitting in the waiting room for 12 hours (my longest wait was 14 hours) they can be a bit cold, bordering on rude. You can get to triage without too much of a problem, just depends on how many people are in front of you. But the check in lacks a certain level of basic competence. I went to the ER with a stroke. The check in person had me sit with everyone else in the waiting room. After about 15-20 minutes a nurse came out to get me and realized I was having a stroke, from That point on they were awesome. Tonight I came here with a history of blood clots and apparently more were developing. I arrived here at 9pm. Quickly got into triage and again had two great nurses. I was told that because of my history of stroke and heart failure I would be put onto a priority list. It is now 5:00am and not a peep from anyone. The waiting room is almost empty. The person at check in was MIA. The security guards could not have been any more rude. In a nasty tone they told me to just wait for the nurse. They will not even look me in the eye, they look past you. This is the most unprofessional setting and 180 degrees from the rest of the facility. By the way, they came through to clean the waiting room once, they waited so long to clean that there was blood on the floor, bloody gauze, trash... it is just disgusting. Clearly the leadership team doesn't read any of the reviews here nor do they actually spend time in the ER, if they did they might just do something about it. No one is holding the leadership of the ER accountable, that is the problem. I have been a senior leader in HR for many years, I can fix this problem within weeks and start to change the culture and attitude of this ER operation. Follow up at 8:00am - I am finally in a room in the ER and it is 180 degrees from the experience of the check in and waiting area. Excellent doctors and nurses. Very caring and very nice to be around. So odd!

At 6am I devide to ask how many before her, and they say 6 people before her and that the wait is around 22 hours. Which sounds insane, but we stay because heart attack potential. AT 26 HOURS of waiting in the ER lobby I decide to go ask (we must be close, right?). They then tell me at the counter they never give out wait times. I explained the whole situation, and they then begin to lie to me and she says "I have been here all night and I haven't seen you guys." Mind she, my mother has been registered and sitting in the waiting room for 26 hours. This place is a joke, and is very untrustworthy

I must add that the coordination couldn't have gone better. They arranged a bed for her in the CCU and the Dr who would be doing her surgery spent time with me over the phone explaining what needed to be done & how it will work. From the time we boarded the ambulance to the recovery room I highly doubt it could have gone any smoother. She came out of the surgery, then recovery, and was immediately taken to the CCU. The poor sweetheart had lines upon lines, oxygen, etc. And when she woke, clearly upset. The nurse ( Karen) that is assigned to her has been so very kind, compassionate, and highly skilled. All the other caretakers have been wonderful. It's been 3 days and she's still in the CCU. But she's doing quite well, healing nicely with the excellent care she is getting. What started out as a frightening experience turned out to be a very positive one & I can't thank them enough.

Alexander was very dismissive when we let him know that we were upset for waiting nine hours for a 10 second conversation. literally waited 2 1/2 hours for him to come down and say you're all set. This is something he could've said to the registered nurse and she could've told us 2 1/2 hours previously. There is a huge amount of time, wasted on basically lack of communication . when we were ready to check out at 4 AM, the nurse that we were trying to get to check us out said she had other priorities and to be honest it seemed like she was creating things to do so she didn't have to take care of us right away. Her name tag was also conveniently flipped as she was giving us a very slightly snarky attitude. I understand an emergency room is an emergency room as we were reminded multiple times basically to tell us we shouldn't feel the way that we do. But at the end of the day you're still charging insurance and co-pays so you're still making money. There should still be some sort of customer service. in any situation, if given a choice. I would not choose umass

Dr. Brittany is an amazing pediatric chiropractor. I am sure she is excellent with adults too, but…read moremy experience is in bringing my preschooler to her. Her clinical knowledge is top notch. She is thorough in explaining exactly what she sees, what the treatment plan is, etc. She does a great job of explaining anatomy and treatment options. She is exceedingly patient with children. My kids LOVE her. Her clinic is warm and inviting. Everything is beautiful, clean, and thoughtful from the soft toilet paper in the bathroom to the plethora of wooden toys. Likewise the staff is kind and personable.

First off, let me preface with the fact that I never write reviews (mostly because I'm too lazy)…read morebut I felt compelled to write one for Dr. Brittany because she has been so amazing in not only her chiropractic care, but as a person in general. I originally went to see her after I found out at 32 weeks that my baby was breech and I had read that chiropractic care- specifically the Webster Technique has been shown to help babies turn naturally on their own by removing roadblocks in the mother's body and Dr. Brittany is the only chiropractor in the Worcester area that specializes in this specific technique. I had posted on a local mom's Facebook group and she was referred by many women so I knew that she had to be good. I decided to give it a shot and I'm so glad I did. I felt comfortable with Dr. Brittany from the moment I met her. I could tell that she was not only extremely knowledgeable but also passionate about the work that she does. She explained everything she did before she did it so that I felt as comfortable with the process as possible. She's also very philosophical about her treatment, which is something that I personally love. My treatment plan started with me getting adjusted twice per week since I had so much going on with my body and I would look forward to the adjustments because I felt so much better afterwards. My back didn't bother me at all this pregnancy, whereas my last, it was almost unbearable towards the end. I felt like I had more energy, my posture was better, and I just overall felt better. There was one week where I missed my adjustments because I was on vacation and I could feel it. I also want to add how great of a person Dr. Brittany is because I find that to be very important when choosing any type of provider. I had an extremely difficult time post partum due to a number of injuries to my body from giving birth. We're talking not being able to walk without a walker or move my legs without help and extreme pain. Turns out, I separated my pelvis, injured my tailbone and also had an issue with my SI joints causing sciatic nerve pain. To say that I was a mess would be an understatement. I reached out to Dr. Brittany to get her thoughts and without hesitation she offered, out of the kindness of her heart, to come to my house to work with me since getting in and out of the car was too much to handle. I'll be forever grateful to her for her care and compassion and couldn't speak any higher of her. I've already recommended many people to her so if you're looking for an outstanding chiropractor, look no further. I promise you won't regret it!
