I get sad when I don't get to see Elizabeth. In fact, the customer service she has provided has been second to none. If I was an employer, I would model my entire employee training structure around how well she handles customers. Frankly, I would be surprised if Elizabeth did not find herself rapidly ascending the ranks of MNP and taking on a very high level position. It would be a discredit to MNP if that did not happen. Elizabeth is absolutely 100% amazing. The GOAT. I think Michael Jordan writes Elizabeth fan mail. I could go on. But I won't. But I could. You get the picture. You BETTER get the picture. Instructors do not ensure that participants are set up properly on their bikes, even newbies (or that was my experience the couple of times that I went there). A good way to ruin your knees is to go hard a few times a week with your bike set up incorrectly. 2. Doing push ups and crunches and swaying side to side while on the bikes might seem like a full body workout, but its hard to do with proper form and puts everyone at risk for injuring themselves. Plus the instructors have the room very very dark so they are unable to offer feedback on the participants' form during class 3. The classes are usually packed and poorly ventilated. It might feel like a better workout because you are soaked with sweat, but being overheated doesn't = better fitness. It just means you sweated more. I wanted to love One cycle and their beautiful, stylish studio but I think I'll stick to studios that focus on the quality of their classes.

Classes in these facilities can encourage you to do a certain exercise and lift the weight however you can. Fitness Fix is different in that the classes are group sessions with Denise instructing every step of the way. Using her knowledge of kineseology, physics and Muscle Activation Technique, she does a warm up to get all the appropriate muscles "firing" so that when we move to a certain exercise, the correct muscle is doing the work without other muscles compensating and helping. She can adjust an exercise for a persons specific need or injury by cuing them to adjust the exercise Gear a class for who is there and what issues they might have. A participant can use the weights that are appropriate for them with no one comparing themselves. During cardio sessions of a Tabata workouts, a person can push to their own limits, as hard as it might be. Denise's Besides Denise's knowledge, Fitness Fix has an unusual environment where we call ourselves "The Fitness Fix Family" because comradery, friendship, fun teasing and encouragement abound.

Despite the decent environment, I feel the staff are quite lazy and sometimes very hard to work with. Yesterday I was with my friends and we were in the Gymnasium playing some basketball. Badminton was allowed in the Gymnasium due to the fact that it was an "Open Gym." Me and my friends went the first time to ask the staff if we could have the badminton nets set up on half the side of the gym and the other side for basketball. The staff said that they would send the DM or Duty Manager down to set it up later. We were acceptable and patient while waiting in the Gymnasium. After maybe 15 minutes or so I went to ask again, this time they said it would be another 15 minutes before the DM would arrive to set up Badminton. I thanked the staff and returned to the Gymnasium after waiting a total of 30 minutes before asking again. I asked the staff at the counter and they proceeded to go inside and ask for a request for badminton. They came out and informed me the last time that the DM would be coming down "now." Of course that was false making me and my friends wait in the Gym for up to an hour, peering outside of the Gymnasium constantly, checking if the DM was going to arrive. Soon however the DM did arrive more than an hour later, she informed us that "The court was too full" and how "It would be too crowded having 13 people on one side of the court." I was acceptable and the DM informed us that she would be back in 30 minutes to check if it was more empty. However the statement of the Gymnasium being too crowded brought up a significant memory not a couple of weeks ago when a full family wanted to play badminton on one half of the court while basketball was on the other half. Apparently 13 was too full but I swear I definitely saw 21 people on one half playing basketball. We were not able to play basketball because of the people that wanted to play badminton. Yet the staff does not set up badminton when we ask but when a full family apparently comes with badminton rackets, they squeeze as many people as possible to the other side of the court. I was quite disappointed but not mad however. Now, going back to how lazy the employees and staff are, this event completely explains how bad it really is at Melcor. Of course, me and my friends went to play more basketball and played for up to 2 hours and the DM never really came back "after 30 minutes" to check if the courts were empty again. At this point we gave up going up to ask again and went up to workout. We later left the YMCA after working out and that was pretty much how I spent a day where I planned to be playing some Badminton into doing almost and only some of what I have planned going to the YMCA. Very Dissapointed Melcor, one star rating.

Fitness Plus has the potential to be such a great gym! Unfortunately there are a few things holding it back. Things I like: Great location. Can usually find parking in the lot out front or nearby. They have a great area to work out in if you like using free weights. Lots of mirrors and equipment on the first floor. They have great classes! This is important to me...sometimes I lack motivation! If I go to a class, I know I won't be tempted to leave part way through the work out. The Ripped classes are excellent and most of the instructors are fantastic (Bonnie, Ivy, Lesley...) People who go to Fitness Plus are generally pretty friendly. There's a Second Cup next door...so you can grab a coffee and/or a snack after your workout. Things that need improvement: Cleanliness. I have noticed that the floors in the room where the classes are held is often dirty. The cardio equipment and mats are often dusty or have dried sweat on them, leading me to believe that there probably isn't a regular cleaning schedule. Kind of gross considering the amount of the people working out there. Most of the cardio equipment is very old. The exercise bikes are in rough shape as well as some of the elliptical trainers. Pedals strokes are uneven and not smooth and some of the computers don't function properly. The treadmills seem a bit better, although one of them started to smoke and emitted and electrical smell when my husband was using it last week. I've pretty much given up on using the cardio room for these reasons. The change room (ladies)... even though there are signs that say that you can't leave your stuff in the lockers overnight, its seems that many people do it anyways. This can make it tricky to find an unoccupied locker. If Fitness Plus updated their cardio equipment and did a better job at keeping the facility clean, it would be a much better gym. Until then...I am looking in to some other options in the South end of the city.

The instructors are motivating, knowledgeable, and create such a positive, energizing atmosphere. Every class feels like a great workout without ever feeling intimidating. What really sets this place apart, though, is the kids club. As a parent, it's such a game changer to know my kids are happy, safe, and well cared for while I take time for myself. It makes working out feel easy and enjoyable instead of stressful. On top of all that, the people are amazing both staff and members. There's such a welcoming, friendly vibe that makes it feel more like a community than just a gym. And the location couldn't be better. If you're looking for a gym that checks every box such as beautiful space, incredible classes, family-friendly, and genuinely great people. Edgemont Athletic is it.

HORRIBLE treatment by staff today, NOT luxury service, AVOID…read more I had asked to be connected to the manager of the club during the phone call to Adress the situation privately but Raeann said over the phone he (manager?) was on vacation for a long time and refused. I wanted to address the horrible treatment i received today not only from Raeann, but from the front desk girl as well as the one that called me in to the office upon arrival. I signed up through the mind body app, and scheduled my yoga class through there. I got to the desk 10 mins before the class as that is what the class description said. I was then told to wait and have some other girl frantically tell me shes so rushed now to get me registered, which i thought was done already through the app. This meeting she all but blamed me and made me feel as though i was a burden to her, and that this was not how it was supposed to be. Again, nowhere does this say this when booking through mind body that there needs to be a tour and such prior to me scheduling anything. After class, i left, and checked if i had a phone number for the facility, i only had a text from Raeann, which i have attached here, again, no mention of a 1 hr needed for tour and processing etc. In her text, i will note however, in the berating phone call after, she did lie and say she had called so many times and explained over voicemail, which did not happen. I texted Raeann back as attached below, to which she berated me (in her calm, soft spoken voice as she continued to say, while talking down to me) talk over me, and say she didn't want me in her club when i asked to speak to a manager because her behaviour was an insane way to treat anyone, let alone a new member. She then back peddled and again, blamed me for having a bad day and was taking it out on her (when she called me to seemingly blame a new member with a valid concern that i calmly, privately tried to address ?) She lied saying she called multiple times, when she called once and texted me. She also lied about her manager being on vacation, as when i called the front desk, they said he would be in on Monday. Her attitude over the phone was horrible, her condescending way of speaking was uncalled for and her threats of telling everyone about me, and not letting anyone else speak to me, is absolutely insane. I would like to speak to anyone above her as soon as possible. Thanks. If this is how this place is run, DO NOT GO HERE.
