Thankfully, they also show you how to modify things in case anything is too difficult to start. Most classes follow the same format. Warm up, arms, legs, seat, and abs, but no two classes do the exact same moves. I found that particularly nice because it's regular enough that you know what's coming up, but different enough to keep your interest. If you're looking for something new, Pure Barre is with a try!

The class had already started, it's dark in the room with blue lights. Music is blasting with great beats to get you in the workout mood. There is only room for 15 max capacity, which is great for those that don't like crowded gyms. It's a class you have to sign up for, you can't just show up and attend unless there's someone that didn't show up or was super late. It is an intense workout class, but in a great way. You're testing your endurance on so many levels. I've never seen such a machine or ever tried one, but I loved it. They call it the, "sweat-Lana" which is funny to me being I'm Eastern European and Svetlana is one of my aunts' name. Overall, a great studio and very reasonable pricing. Stop by and get your workout on, you won't be disappointed.

I went there to walk my dog and be in nature. The majority of the main paved walking path is actually separate from the park. It runs alongside the road that runs through the park. Because I was there around rush hour, it basically felt like walking on a sidewalk next to a busy street, rather than like walking in a park. Also, there was some construction and a lot of electrical lines with big metal bases along the path, which also detracted from the little bit of nature. The lifeguards blow whistles all the sudden and yell at the kids to get out, as if this is a Jaws movie. Make it non threatening and encourage getting fresh water or a small snack? Play music 1 minute before the kick out time, setup tables with free water cups? have some small challenges, throw a frisbee into a target and win a small prize or who knows. But they dont do these things. Parking is miserable, expect your car will be hit by someone's door. Period.

There are plenty of green spaces and empty fields to play frisbee, flag football, or volleyball. I drove to the dog park area since the park is strict on having the dogs on leash at all times, so I went there. The dog parks for both small and large dogs are enormous! I have never seen that size of a dog park since I was in Colorado--and that state is known for being pet friendly, so their parks and restaurants are 90% pet-friendly. I took my dog to the small dog park as he is small. It was still 4 P.m. and too hot for my dog. There are not a lot of shades in the small dog area compared to the large dog area. I did not stay that long as my dog did not like being grilled under the sun. I checked out the rest of the park by driving around and noticed a vast playground, a marina (although the water has receded), empty fields, a picnic area, and even a camping area! If I had come later in the day when it was not too hot for my dog, I would have enjoyed my stay here. I have seen plenty of residents around here with their kids, birthday party groups, and groups playing frisbee. I can tell that it is a great park to visit. Cool spot ~

I've been a client of Laura Cox, the chief yoga instructor at Breathe Pilates, since 2013. It's been one of the best parts of my life since -- practicing yoga as her student and client. I started yoga knowing NOTHING about it. I wasn't exercising regularly and rarely ever had. Over several years working with her and other fine folks at a local hot yoga studio I still go to on off days from Breathe, I learned peace and grit while gaining strength and flexibility I never thought a middle-aged guy could pick up. The main reason for that was Laura's excellent teaching. She remains enthusiastic in each class, individualizes instruction for you in group settings, and was very popular among the clients at the studio. She had wheels in motion to open her own studio just when the COVID lockdown hit, and she went through with it, opening first through Zoom and over time in person (though she still has several Zoom clients from all over the country). I started attending her Vinyasa classes and am so glad I still do. My strength and flexibility continues to improve, and it says a lot that I get out of bed early to go work out with her when I'd usually sleep in otherwise. It's an amazing way to start the day three days a week. Laura's studio at Breathe is the best yoga experience you could ask for. It only holds a few people, and it's not unusual for there to only be a couple of us in person with one or two additional folks on Zoom. That means she can really help us individually, and we also get to have fun with her as she sings us instructions or yells out "Party Toes" randomly. She designs workouts that she knows we need and caters them to who's in class that day. For example, I fell on black ice six years ago and smashed my L1 vertebra together, limiting my lower back flexibility and especially my ability to do situps and traditional ab work. It's common for us to do ab work in yoga classes I attend that I can actually do -- she makes it possible for me by seeking out exercises for that part of the body that vary from the standard, and yoga has helped me live a normal life (my physical therapy -- the doctor told me to go back to yoga class as it was already doing all we'd do in PT). She's always learning new methods and trying them on us to help us as a class and individually -- a perpetual student and teacher. So if you're new to yoga or have some experience and just want to find a relaxed and helpful studio, Laura's Breathe yoga classes are an awesome choice. Her rates are reasonable, and her careful guidance is priceless. read more

Breathe is a pilates oasis in Lexington, KY. Robert Turner has extensive training in body movement, pilates and physical therapy. He as created a studio which incorporates all these elements. Breathe is clean and all the equipment is maintained at the highest levels, the instructors are knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and yet still challenging. Breathe is a studio which definitely lives up its name, and allows clients to inhale alignment, strength, movement and health and to exhale stress, doubt and pain.
