Love, love, love breathing dragon classes. I have been coming to BDY for 9 years and I always have a great class. Keisha's pilates class is the BEST pilates class in this area, hands down. She gets so much done in the one hour time period! I worked out so hard and felt amazing during and after class. The only thing I wish is that there were more pilates classes with Keisha! The owner is more focused on $ than the people. I was signed up for a 6 month contract that I did not consent to and the owner claimed they would try to help me figure out what happened. After a polite exchange between the two of us that spanned approximately a month, I saw no action being taken so I told her I would need to submit this to small claims court. She blocked me and did not refund the $756 that I should not have been charged for. Really disappointing. I don't have that money to spare and it was a financial burden. read more

Located in a somewhat small office/medical style building area - as you walk in there is a foyer to put your shoes and coat. As you enter there is the front desk and another small sitting area. I purchased a groupon 5 classes for $25, must be used in 30'days. They offer mats for class for a small fee. They have pay bottle water but i brought my own. The class was pretty crowded, i want to say about 20 people, the room was Hot, just as Bikram yoga should be. The instructor was pleasant and i loved that he knew i was new to class and still offered queuing and small adjustments. After class they have a shower but i didn't check it out. I was a little disappointed in the changing area for men. There were 6 of us in the changing room and i felt "all to close for comfort". I changed into some dry clothes and high tailed it outta of the room. Final words: I'd go back because i enjoy Bikram yoga. Just know all your options as to a package you want and look for deals. The front desk will not tell you about the Groupon unless you feel them and if you don't they try to Upsell you on a more expensive package. read more

A friend and I were staying in Princeton for a month and decided to try something new - hot yoga! We came across a Groupon deal for 1 month unlimited hot yoga for ~$40. We were welcomed my Michael and Mori who own the studio. During our month, we were able to attend 15 classes with many of the instructors all of which were amazing. I particularly enjoyed the Yin Yang Yoga and the Hot Pilates. It was an amazing way to relieve stress, understand my body more, and loosen up some super tight areas. I've been practicing yoga for nearly 15 years and I haven't yet experienced Bikrim. I was very impressed with the instructor as she truly wasn't a "run of mill" 200-400hr instructor. If I had to wager, despite her youth, she's likely practiced for many years. I truly appreciated the hands-on correction and spotting as well as the attention to form (down to the fingers being open or closed and palm up or down). I truly learned how different Bikrim is from Vinyasa through each pose. I'd never heard of 26 or 26+2 Bikrim poses until this class. I found myself leaving with a yearning for more information on Bikrim. The studio has an uncanny passion that you don't find in every studio. This truly is a come as you are studio (student ages ranged from teen to early 50's) and the energy was that of people truly wanting to be "present." read more

Hot Yoga is My Medicine I've lived the past decade in excruciating pain. I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriasis, and Fibromyalgia. Every day, I have woken up to take pills and can't get out of bed until they "kick in." My children are 10 and 5 and they know to ask before a hug if I'm in pain. I believed this reality was the way I was going to continue to live for the rest of my days, until I discovered a sweaty little room in Montgomery, NJ. When I first heard about hot yoga 8 years ago all I could think was no way! No way was I going to pay money to sit in a room that was going to make me intentionally uncomfortable. There were so many mental, physical, and financial barriers that stopped me from trying out a hot yoga class. I didn't think I could last 90 minutes in 105 degree heat. I'm not a skinny yoga woman, Lululemon doesn't make my size. Where am I going to find something to wear to a yoga class? I also believed yoga was expensive. Yoga in American, is something white, rich, pampered women did not brown, thick, women who are looking for work. I moved to Princeton and spent my time walking after dropping my kids off at the bus stop. My doctor said that I could decrease my knee pain if I strengthened my quads. So I did weird quad exercises on my walk and spent 2 hours every day checking out the many walking trails and battlefields by my house. The pain remained my constant companion through my walks and throughout the day. In November 2017, I found a Groupon for some cheap hot yoga in town. I told myself that it's going to get cold and I won't want to walk around in the muddy banks of Washington's trail. I went to my first yoga class with a Five and Below yoga mat, a white bath towel, a tank top from Target, and a Swell bottle full of water. The first class I walked out 5 times. It was way too hot, I couldn't do standing bow, and my knees killed me on camel. I hated every minute of the 90 minute class. The owner, Mori, told me to come back tomorrow. I did. Only because I wanted to get my money's worth for the month. When Christmas hits I'm out of there for good. Mori taught my second class and she told me not to leave. She said lay on your mat when you need to but, stay in the room. I stayed, I hated every minute of the 90, I hated being sweaty, I hated watching other people sweat, I hated touching things that sweaty people touched, the only part I liked was the cold rag at the end of class. After 2 weeks, I would wake up and forget to take my pills, even fibro brain doesn't let you forget to take pain medicine. During this time, I noticed that my psoriasis on my hands, feet, back, and scalp cleared up. I went to see my rheumatologist and he suggested I stop taking pain medicine and stop taking my DMARDS to see what happens. For the first time in 6 years I wasn't taking narcotics to dull my pain and get through the day, I couldn't believe it! Hot Yoga is my medicine now. I try and go to hot yoga classes 3 times a week and experiment with the other options like Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga. The teachers at Breathing Dragon are thoughtful and caring. I'm still one of the largest women in the morning classes and it doesn't bother me that I wear the coolest yoga tanks from the plus size department at Nordstrom Rack. I've upgraded my towel to some inexpensive options from Amazon and continue to roll up my Five and Below mat. You don't have to be skinny and privileged to do hot yoga. You just have to show up on your mat, find your drishdi, and fall a thousand times during standing bow. read more

I've practiced at enough studios around the country to know what makes this place stands out. The owner is full of energy. When the day has beat you down, and maybe one of the postures is just a little too much for you mentally, she somehow motivates your willpower to come out and say 'I can do it'. That transfer is nothing short of amazing. She knows everyone's names, provides constant feedback, and shares her life as well as encourages you to share yours. Her passion about sharing the practice is more important that just following the official Bikram rules. The staff isn't stingy on money or how the packages are supposed to be used, and welcome any newbody (groupon or not) with a intro rate or just using one of the class passes. They don't turn anyone away, even three postures in, and even have one-hour express classes twice weekly for others short on time. It contributes to a very accepting atmosphere. The only thing I don't like is that the temperature varies too much from 105... that should stay constant to maintain a benchmark of progress. Shoes off when you first come in, makes it feel like home. Clean, open, zen. That cool towel at the end of the session. Fantastic. Towel and mat rentals are available, as well as some cute yoga gear and figurines. Lots of other non-bikram classes also. Can get crowded! Everybody and their moms (well, at least my mom) loves coming here so its good to grab a spot early. read more

I've been going to Breathing Dragon Yoga for just over a year and its officially my favorite studio, not just in Central Jersey, but compared to places I've gone when I lived in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. This is a really special place! Its more than a beautiful space with fantastic teachers (all with different styles!) and a great selection of classes. It's also a really welcoming community of people -- all ages and backgrounds, beginners to long time practitioners, no pretense, just realness all day, everyday. Mori sets the tone, pushing us passed the limits we set for ourselves, and encouraging us to welcome the discomfort and grow from the inside out. If you stick with it for at least a month, come 3x week if you can, really hydrate, and be patient with yourself, you'll start to see results... including the way that you approach life OFF THE MAT. I was expecting this past year to be one of the most intense of my career, but coming here on a regular basis, I've felt so much calmer, happier, and healthier... I am an avid fan of yoga and have tried all styles and studios to get my fix over the past 5 years. I usually practice a vinyasa flow and prefer it. Although I have done Bikram style a dozen or so times( trying desperately to get out of it what others do and who knows? Maybe convert my practice into the trend of Bikram). I just did not enjoy the studios I've attended in the past and more or less gave up on it. I often felt like the Goldi Lox of Yogi's. "This studio is too hot, this one too cold, this instructor too bold" It was not until I recieved the Groupon for Breathing Dragon that I believe I found one that is "just right", so to speak. After I saw the Groupon I figured why not give Bikram another "old college try". Maybe this time I would actually leave feeling rinsed and refreshed like I do with Vinyasa? I reluctantly went on a Sunday morning and found myself in a gleaming, pristine studio with a warm and welcoming organized front reception desk. A room where the temperature was not suffocating and the instructor (James) was incredibly modest and gentle in his teaching approach. I think I finally found a home in the Bikram style of yoga. I am brand new to yoga. When I say new, I mean that the bikram class I took at Breathing Dragon last week was the very first yoga class I've ever taken in my 29 years. So this review is less about quality of the yoga itself and more studio/instructors. There's a special on Groupon running right now ($29 for a month of unlimited classes, cannot beat that), so I figured why not try something new? New year, new me, right guys? The studio is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The instructors have been very helpful in teaching me the practice of bikram. I don't feel a competitive vibe whatsoever. The temperature of the class slightly differs with each instructor and sometimes they open doors if it seems to be getting too humid. My favorite part is the cold lavender towel passed around at the end of class while we are in savasana! Great studio. read more

Breathing Dragon has quickly become one of my favorite yoga studios! I have been an avid Bikram yogi for the past few years but my review is not on the yoga, strictly the studio. Feel free to look up the benefits of Bikram yoga. The studio has a very calm feeling that hits you immediately as you enter. One of my favorite parts of the studio is the giant Buddha statute behind the front desk. The women and men both have separate areas for changing, showering and using the restroom. The layout is great and I don't feel like any of the areas are crowded with people changing or getting ready before or after class. There are two different hot rooms for the different types of yoga offered. I tend to favor the Bikram method so this is my primary purpose for coming to the studio. There are a few class times offered during the week and on the weekends so you have plenty of opportunities to get your yoga on. The other hot room is used for a hot Vinyasa flow. These classes are offered once a day Monday-Thursday and Saturday so check the schedule before you come. The community formed at this studio is so warm and inviting. The teachers and students alike are all great people! It makes a difference when you enter a place and people are genuinely happy to see you there. It makes you want to keep coming back again and again! This studio is often featured on Groupon. If you are hesitant about trying hot yoga I would recommend waiting for a Groupon because you seem to get the most bang for your buck. But be warned, this yoga will leave you wanting more!! WOW !! I am what you call a burly man, always active in physical fitness and out door activities. A couple of my friends told me I should try this Hot Yoga Bikram style and how it was great for my goal of losing weight and improving my workouts at the gym. The Staff at Breathing Dragon is great, they walked me through the whole thing before I started and made sure I was comfortable for my first class. After my first class I was in love. The place is amazing, very clean and organic studio set up, very high end finishes and just a great place with a great atmosphere. I have now been going for about 2 months now and wow, I have dropped 2% in body fat and my workouts at the gym have gotten better. I now can see my ribs again like I was 17, I can place my hands flat on the ground without bending my knees. My personal trainer is very impressed how much improvement I am doing. At first I was very shy and nevus because I heard yoga is very girly, but after going and see other guys like myself in there and how hearing about their results, I decided to give it a try. I really really like Breathing Dragon! I'm a bit of a yoga studio snob and haven't found one that I would enjoy coming back to in the Central Jersey area (until now!). Found this gem through Groupon, and have taken 2 hot vinyasa classes so far. They primarily are a bikram studio, but they do offer open level vinyasa for those of us that are not so much bikhram lovers. Joseph's style was much slower and focused more on alignment than other vinyasa classes i have taken. I really enjoyed it however, because it was a nice change of pace. I took Courtney's Saturday morning flow, which was a faster paced class, and definitely more of what I am used to. Truly satisfied after both classes, I look forward to my next vinyasa class there. I wish they were offered more frequently, but I'll take what i can get :) The studio itself is immaculate and very well kept. Shower facilities are clean and there is plenty of cute yoga gear in the front that is available for purchase. For as long as I live in Central Jersey, Breathing Dragon will be my go to yoga spot. I've practiced Bikram at various studios in the area for the last 2.5 years--I'm about a 40-60 minute drive from any studio, so it's a bit of a hassle and I usually only go for two months or so out of the year when I can get a discount (I'm a student). My friend and I came to try the new studio here, and we were impressed by the instruction, which we found knowledgeable and personal. It's not just an instructor walking around repeating the same phrases--if you need some help getting the right posture, they will help you! The studio itself is very clean and nice, and has two rooms so they can hold two classes at once. Friendly staff. The HIGH energy, POSITIVE vibes, DEEP knowledge, and WARM friendliness of this hot yoga studio have slowly grew on me and made me want to keep going back. I first stumbled upon this place on Groupon, and I bought a 10-class package for $35, which is amazing! Also, they give you a three-month period to use these 10 classes. It worked out perfectly because I started in mid- December then I went away for a month. I've only been to 4 classes so far, and my passion and enjoyment for yoga continued to increase after every class! The instructors are awesome! They are very knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging. James always try to push me to improve my techniques and to go deeper into the stretch. At first, I was hesitant to do the toe stand, but he encouraged me to give it a try because he noticed that I have very strong legs and calves. Guess what? I was able to do it!!! The instructors always greet us when we come in and leave which makes me feel great! This place feels like my home! The studio has two rooms, and each room is very spacious, clean, and evenly heated! The room temperatures are always consistently heated, and the ceiling hangs a few fans to circulate the hot air! The lighting is also very nicely lit at times and dimly lit when necessary! I love this place. I always feel AWESOME and better than I was at the end of each class. Lastly, their website is PERFECT! Of the few different Bikram style studios I have tried, Breathing Dragon Yoga is by far my favorite. I have been a student here for over 2 years and since day 1 I have felt welcome and accepted by all of the instructors as well as other students. There are people of all ages and all body types in class and no one is ever favored or made to feel uncomfortable by an instructor. You are greeted by name every time you enter or leave the studio and the instructors all do a great job at offering personal corrections to each student during class, but never so much so that you feel picked on. All instructors walk the line perfectly between pushing you to do your best and letting you take care of your body that day in whatever way feels right for you. Let me start by saying that if I lived in the area, this place would definitely be my second home. I have taken 4 classes here while visiting from out of town around Thanksgiving and Christmas. In that time I have taken class with 3 different instructors and they were all fantastic. Mori, the owner, is warm, welcoming, inspiring and has amazing energy. Her class is fun and challenging in a good way (as it should be) and she makes sure that everyone is okay with the temperature of the room, which is great. She also offers a lot of encouragement and helpful tips about the postures. The hot room is immaculate and just the right size, and the temperature and humidity were perfect. I also love the natural light in the room coming from the windows and door (which also occasionally provide some much-needed fresh air). In addition, the women's locker room is very clean and modern and has tons of cubbies for storing stuff during class, two showers and a counter with tissues, Q-tips, etc. and a blow dryer. Lastly, they have lots of fun yoga apparel, towels and mats for sale in the front of the studio. This place is truly a gem and I can't wait to go back! read more

I've only had the opportunity to visit once but everything about the experience was so nice. Morie (I know I'm botching the spelling) was so kind. Her demeanor reminded me to relax and focus on the practice. I went with a friend and the room was a bit full but I didn't feel too crowded and everyone was really focused on themselves so I didn't feel self conscious. I love this studio! I discovered it through a friend and we both bought the Groupon 1 month unlimited introductory offer. We are both so happy we are continuing. My reason for trying hot yoga is chronic pain from Fibromyalgia, sciatica, arthritis, and Raynauds. I really suffer in the winter especially. Since I joined here 4 weeks ago, I feel a tremendous change already. I've been coming on my lunch breaks from work which is a super convenient time slot. The days I attend, my Raynauds is drastically reduced or non-existent. I feel my posture, attitude, and overall physical condition is improving. I've lost some weight and gained a ton of energy. I look forward to coming in and meeting the other students and seeing my favorite instructors Mori, James, Nicole, and Ammie. I am taking Bikram and Yin which is my favorite because it gets deep into the fascia and provides relief to the sore muscles and joints. Currently Yin with Mori is only twice a week but I would go more if they increase classes. Bikram goes by very quick with James. He has a great sense of humor and makes sure to correct your postures ("it's skill not just will, and sometimes that is not a thrill"). I love Bikram with Nicole too. She is very kind, caring, and listens to and encourages you. Ammie's classes are awesome as well. I look forward to trying more instructors. Working my way to Keisha's hot pilates....some day ;) The facility is great, very clean, and nicely decorated. We used to suffer from back pain and knee pain but with consistent practice all pain gone. You lose weight, sleep better, and eat better with hot yoga. I love to try new things and love going to yoga classes. I had seen this studio since it's near our grocery store and wanted to try hot yoga. I had never gone before but am in pretty good shape and have practiced yoga in the past. I signed up for a class easily online, they have an open schedule and lots of options. I decided to try the 90 minute class with Mori! She made me feel SO welcome from the moment I arrived at the studio. Upon entering the room I was surprised at how hot and humid it was (even though I knew it would be hot). I got acclimated to the room and set up my mat. I brought a large jug of ice water and a towel with me. The class itself was SUPER energizing and fun. Mori kept everyone moving and gave us positive feedback the entire time. For my first time I only had to sit out a few moments at a time. I went back for a Pyro class with Megan and had another great experience! I don't have enough amazing things to say about the Breathing Dragon Yoga Studio! I did the unlimited class for one month Groupon pass and have fallen in love with how I feel. With every class I attend, I see myself making progress. My body feels great, I'm drinking loads of water, and I sleep like a baby. Im energized during the day and am motivated to end my day with a hot yoga session. Being a dentist, my back and shoulders constantly feel stress after a long day. I really think starting yoga has loosened up and strengthened my muscles. My husband, who normally lifts weight and does cardio at the gym has joined as well. He also says there is no work out like the hot yoga/inferno pilates. My intro one month pass has turned me into a regular at BDY! I am so excited to see the transformation my mind and body in the months to come. Thank you Mori and all the amazing instructors!! I would highly recommend you try it for yourself. read more
