Experience Mind and Body Rejuvenation says the treatment brochure and we most certainly did at the couple of hours spent at this day spa. As you arrive at Breathing Space, you enter via its Blueberry café which serves up organic delights such as smoothies, sandwiches, cakes and a great array of teas. We headed upstairs to the treatment area where my friend and I booked in for luxury spa pedicures, a 55 minute treatment sat side by side, whilst sat on vibrating and massaging chairs, which did cause us to giggle somewhat, but we did have them cranked up to 11! I am no expert in Pedicures, so I don't have much to base it on, but I was scrubbed, filed, buffed and polished and did have a much needed spring in my step once finished. Although extra to the cost, we did order drinks from downstairs which they bring up to you so you can sip during your treatment and the staff were very attentive and thoughtful. My only fault really was that our treatment took place in an open space, next to the manicure tables, with only a small partition separating us from the waiting area. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday afternoon and there was only 1 other manicure taking place, but I think for a luxury girlie pedicure afternoon, I would of preferred to of had a bit more privacy, so we weren't privy to other peoples conversations and vice versa and there is no free carpark, so we had to use the pay and display round the back. read more

Breathing Space is located in the little alley next to the lower level of the Sainsbury's car park and promotes itself as a day spa. I attended a few drop-in yoga classes there and while the classes were not cheap (£10 a pop), the yoga teachers were skilled and friendly and the studio space is very pleasant. The Ashtanga yoga class I attended was very busy so the studio felt a little cramped and the class was probably a little advanced for me (although I felt fantastic afterwards). Breathing Space also offers Pilates Courses and a range of other treatments, including acupuncture and massages and lots of lovely products on display in the window. Overall, I would have awarded 4 stars but Breathing Space is quite expensive and seems to be pitched at Ladies that Lunch. Not that this is a problem by any means, but I tend to prefer somewhere a little more down-to-earth. Worth a vist and vouchers would probably make a very good gift! read more
