What a wonderful experience with Noriko! I had an 8 hour layover in London so I decided to take the Heathrow express into paddington. My skin has been super dry and dull lately, plus I got a terrible night of sleep on the plane, so I was beyond glad Chi Yu was able to take me as a walk in. Noriko was so sweet and friendly, as was the lady who checked me in at the front (I didn't get her name). The facility is clean and cozy, offering tea or water when you arrive. The facial with products includes eminence products which all smelled and felt incredible. They also specialize in Japanese Cosmo Lifting Massages and Noriko integrated some of that into my facial, which was great and something new for me. Picture this: sitting at my desk on Baker Street. All of a sudden, piercing pain right between my shoulder blades from...oh, probably 10 years of sitting at a computer hunched over and slouched. You know that burning knot feeling? Yes that. I was dreaming of some relief and started to do a quick search on Yelp for somewhere quite near my office. Nothing too laborious as my day was packed...so just a quick tune-up via chair massage was in order. Chi Yu to the rescue! Lovely staff and very welcoming. From making the appointment, to arrival, and situation all the way to checkout and bidding them adieu, everyone was so very nice. Somewhat sad that this is not a given, but in London it certainly isn't! This makes Chi Yu stand out. I made an appointment for same day with Rie, who was great. I was escorted downstairs to the treatment area, and given 30 minutes of chair massage. Brilliant, just what I wanted. She was very communicative and definitely helped ease the tension. I probably need one every day for a month to really work it out, but this really helped. I took a menu and will definitely be back. Really like the vibe of this place, the atmosphere (also SUPER clean), and the service offerings. This place is a true gem to London and one of the few reasons why I wished I lived here! This is a great place in Marylebone area for a little R&R: Japanese massages and facials are highly recommended here. There are various massage treatments but I'd recommend for you to let them know what you need and they are so good at coming up with a protocol of what you need. I was able to get a mixed treatment which was very interesting and at the same time extremely relaxing and helped me get some of those stubborn knots out! I had such a great time I came back and did the facials - to which I recommend using the embiance facial treatment. It was very holistic and I was so relaxed doing this massaging facial that I dosed off. I loved how the beautician asked me for my top concerns and she thoroughly explained to me what she will do to work out those concerns with a mixed treatment. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Japanese treatments - the people are great here, highly and very well trained (they show certificates of everyone and their specialties downstairs), and excellent products/services. read more

I went for the Integrated facial and I have to say it was the best one-hour facial I have ever had. Of course, the products and the ambience were top notch but the fact that Mami (who attended me) was very good in explaining as well as giving tips for me to work on at home just makes me appreciate it more. I noticed my skin felt smooth, pore unclogged and brighter. Plus I had a pimple on my forehead and after the treatment, it dried up! Will definitely go again and highly recommended! read more

I had extreme tightness in my lower back, hips and quads after a flight from Los Angeles to London. Nothing I did -- yoga, walking, stretching, resting -- seemed to relieve the tension. I booked an appointment at Chi Yu Wellness Centre because of their 10% off Yelp coupon and same-day availability. My treatment was with Sky, a gentle, sweet Japanese woman. She listened carefully to everything I had to say and asked follow-up questions in order to get a clear understanding of what was going on. I'm sure treatment is different from client to client based on need but my massage was very gentle, relaxing and soothing. Sky took the time to carefully tend to all the problem areas. As I'm used to massages that are painful, however, I wondered if the treatment was "working." I had some residual acheness a few hours later, which told me that the treatment had been thorough and that my tense muscles were starting to relax. I haven't had problems with my back, hips and quads in about three weeks now, and I believe that Sky's massage, mild exercise and resting were the magical trio that did the trick. I don't live in London but if I did, Chi Yu (and Sky specifically) would be my go-to for tending to muscular aches and pains! read more

Chi Yu is a really great little Marylebone secret. The moment you walk in, you feel relaxed as you are offered delicious Jing teas while you chat to your therapist. What this wellness centre excels in is offering bespoke treatment exactly to your needs. I use it when I feel over tired, stressed out, run down - and have just generally over-done the fast paced London living. I usually go for reflexology as it works so well for me - I can feel the results of a half hour session for 3 to 4 days sometimes - basically it gives me a massive energy charge, and makes me feel more balanced. After your treatment, the therapist meets with you and tells you where your problem areas are, and some practical advice to improve them. Chi Yu specialises in a really wide range of therapies though, including acupuncture, cranio-sacral, massage, acupressure etc. and they have just launched some new beauty wraps and facial treatments as well using the natural range, Eminence. It is the ultimate place to come and re-charge your batteries and deal with the effects of London living, as well as any specific problems you may have. read more

The place is really clean, welcoming, and comfortable - hard to believe it's so close to the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street! I read amazing reviews about this place and I will have to say for the most part team was friendly. I hate to give only three stars because I believe a massage therapist is the person that sets the tone for the venue. My therapist did a decent job but I would say regarding knowledge and Technique, deep pressure and I would give her a four star. As for my partners therapist she didn't even know the correct names of each body part and could not deliver a service to aid in muscle pains, she would get a 1 Star because she also had bad breath. I believe the person you want to see is named Sky from all the reviews I've read. Not sure if I would give this a second chance but I would say the place itself was clean and comfortable in the price for the service of massage is much better than what is offered at the hotel which also could have an inexperienced massage therapist that doesn't practice "therapeutic massage." read more

I had an amazing massage at Chi Yui. From the moment I walked in the door I felt pampered, as the friendly staff welcomed me and gave me tea. The decor is very luxurious and the treatment rooms are relaxing and have a lovely atmosphere. My masseuse was very skilled and not only was it an excellent massage, but she was highly skilled and identified areas of weakness in my back and provided future treatment options. It was my first time having facial treatment in London and it's excellent. I used to have regular facial treatment in my home country in six years consecutively before coming to London. All those beauticians I had in the past did not have the sophisticated skills as what Karen has, who was my therapist at Chi Yu. She helped bring the brightness to my face that I lost after relocated to London, without any help of machines. I felt relaxed and felt asleep during the treatment thanks to the skilful techniques of Karen. The products Chi Yu uses are of high quality, making me feel moisturised and refreshing. Chi Yu was excellent! I was visiting London and had sharp pain in my shoulders and neck. Chi Yu was able to make an appointment for me the same day, and the masseuse (named Ikumi) fixed me up, quickly finding the knots in my muscles and working them out. I went to Chi Yu when it first opened and I have been going back ever since. It's definitely the best place I have been to in London for wellness massage. I am addicted to reflexology and so I usually have a half hour or an hour session, which they combine with massage to target stressed areas on my back or shoulders. Inevitably I go for reflexology when I'm feeling at my London worst (which means stressed and sleepless) and the effects last for around three to four days afterwards for me. Other treatments I have enjoyed there is Cranio Sacral therapy, which is an incredibly light touch massage but wonderfully effective and the Eminence organic facial is also really amazing. It's a very special place literally from the moment you walk in the door you feel relaxed, as you are served a cup of specially blended herbal tea. All the therapists are lovely and take time to find out how you are feeling physically and emotionally before tailoring your treatment to suit your exact requirements.
