One eye is distance and the other is for reading. The brain compensates. The staff was amazing and thorough. Dr. Goldberg is professional and patient. The surgeries went very well. I had no pain at all. I walked out without any patches. It's a month long on each eye with drops. So far so good. My eyesight is restored, and I am very grateful. There are many follow ups included after the surgeries. No stone is left unturned. I will probably get driving glasses for night driving only. My only issue with my new eyesight is having dry eye. I must continue to use Restasis twice a day. The dryness causes you to have blurry vision. No glasses will help this. It's part of the aging process. I am very happy with Dr. Goldberg and his staff. It was a painless procedure.

He never hesitated or did not have an answer to any of my million questions. He knows what he's doing and is very patient. I had ICL surgery with him and in less than two weeks time I am seeing 20/20 when I was seeing 20/40 +2 with glasses/contacts before surgery. I called several times trying to schedule an appointment and had no success. When Theresa answered the phone, she was rude from the start and placed me on hold for over 20 minutes without any resolution. When I called back, she was again rude, condescending, and dismissive. I politely asked her to stop being rude and to please listen to what I was trying to explain. Instead of helping me, she hung up on me. No patient should be treated this way, especially when simply trying to schedule an appointment. It's unfortunate because outstanding physicians can lose patients due to poor customer service. I strongly encourage the office to evaluate its front desk and telephone staff. The way patients are treated before they ever see the doctor matters, and experiences like this will inevitably drive people elsewhere.

Now.... the BILLING DEPT is the WORST I have ever seen. I have a $30 co-pay for a vision exam, but in store, she told me billing said I had a $50 co-pay. I let her know it was $30, but paid the $50 anyway figuring they will know they made a mistake later. When I received the 1st bill of $95, she stated they applied my $50 copay to the contact lens exam which isn't even noted on the bill. I called and stated my insurance pays for the whole exam including contact lens except the $30 copay. After she argued with me, she said she would call the insurance company, never got a call back. I thought it was handled, then got another bill and called, never received call back. Now 3 months later, I still owe them $80 even though I over paid my copay. They billed an eye exam under medical so I would pay $50 then a determine refractive state under patient eye exam for $30 copay. Looking at my insurance statement, my insurance paid everything but 2 separate copays that were charged incorrectly. I already paid $50, and they want to still charge me $80?.... run far away unless they getting a new billing department. I have left 3 messages and never received a call back!!!!

I like that Dr. Greco is a solo medical provider, as I never have to bother with being shuffled around from one technician to another, as is the case in a larger practice with multiple physicians. This allows for more personal attention at every visit. Dr. Greco also takes the time to assess the overall well-being of his patients and provide advice accordingly. In my case, when I informed Dr. Greco that my elderly parent has Advanced Macular Degeneration, Dr. Greco immediately changed my monitoring to provide for extra attention to my own maculae, to include arranging a periodic visit for me with a retinal specialist. More recently, when I exhibited symptoms of double vision, Dr. Greco examined me and determined that I should immediately check in to my local Emergency Room to rule out any possibility of a stroke or other dangerous neurological issues. Thanks to Dr. Greco, I was diagnosed by a neurologist with a mild case of Myasthenia Gravis, for which I am being treated successfully with medication. For all of the above reasons, I highly recommend Dr. Greco to anyone looking for an exceptional and caring ophthalmologist.

I have nothing but praise for them. This past visit I was at the front desk to pay my copay, asked if they could use my card on file and they said they couldn't they needed the physical card. I off hand mentioned I don't have it, I left it in my room, and I should get it. I used a different card and then began leaving. My ride told me they were delayed as I opened the door so I opted to sit in the office to wait by the door. What happened next leads me to believe that they thought I left. After one of the front desk members received a phone call from a patient they hung up, and began speaking negatively about said patient, which I hate to say I have heard before from the front desk. Then they began on myself, saying "and this one saying how he can't find his card in his filthy room, you're a grown a$$ man with gray hair, why do I have to hear that." So at this point I sat up straighter and I believe one of them noticed me as the conversation shifted. When my ride arrived I simply went up to the front desk, told them I will not be returning, and that if they are going to talk about someone they should make sure they are not in the room first, and then left. So if you go to Opthalmic Physicians of Monmouth, just know that the front desk WILL be speaking negatively about you. I am disappointed in the lack of professionalism, I understand everyone can have a hard day and express frustration however this is a pattern I have noticed from the front desk.

He has his practice in his home and I liked the fact that I didn't have to wait in a waiting room for 30 minutes to see one of the doctors in the other practice. He took me right in, nice office, modern equipment and he explained that my current glasses showed an astigmatism in my right eye which was not correct. He gave me a new prescription, took it to Costco and in 7 days had my new lenses in my old frame. I didn't think it would make much difference since I had corrective cataract surgery a couple of years ago, but boy did it make a difference. I can read small things now, I can see my computer screen and when driving everything is sharp and clear even at night. I gave Dr. Miele 5 Stars because he is knowledgeable, took time to explain everything to me and answer my questions and was a really nice guy.
