We purchased a fantastic gum tree to be planted by Breedlove's. The tree arrived on time and in perfect condition. The planting crew was terrific and they left our yard in perfect condition. Last year I needed three pink ruffle azaleas and there were none to be found. This year I called three nurseries one did not have any, one did not answer their phone, and one did not have a phone number to call. Then I called Breedlove's. The gal that answered the phone said she thought they did and checked while I was on the phone with her. They had plenty so we hurried out and bought three. Great service and a very pretty nursery. New to Tyler, we needed a reliable plant nursery where we could receive advice on East Texas flora, and were so fortunate to find Breedlove. It's a beautifully designed nursery with a big variety of healthy plants, well organized with good prices. The shop is delightful as well. Chickens, rooster, butterflies, and bumblebees, everywhere--master gardener territory. However, the strength of this business is the staff. Well informed and extremely personable and helpful, without fail each of the four persons we encountered knew the dirt on plants and was warm and welcoming. One young man not only helped us choose multiple plants, but loaded our cart and helped my husband load the car. A three generational family business, in Tyler for 95 years, this place is a gem. My mother, who now lives with us, is ecstatic. We've found our nursery and we'll most definitely be return customers. read more

It just doesn't get better than this......THIS IS HEAVEN !!! Northhaven Gardens in Dallas,.....fairly good, Nicolson Hardy is also a good choice for Dallas; Austin has a variety of organic garden shops, but NONE come close to Breedlove's. Rejoice Tyler Residents, you have the BEST.....your soil, your climate gives you all the help you need to select the most exotic tropical, or one of many Japanese Maples, or so many azaleas, etc. that your gardens should be show stoppers. Prices are SO FAIR......LUCKY LUCKY YOU. While visiting friends/family in nearby Tyler, we made a special trip to Breedloves to enjoy on a hot sultry day, the most lovely gardens anywhere. I was so disappointed! The woman helping me knew less than I did and the prices were, at least, 25% higher than other nurseries. I moved here from central Louisiana where Forest Hill is. Forest Hill grows and supplies pants, etc to nurseries, box stores and landscapers throughout the nation. I may be expecting too much here but I think if you are selling something, you should have complete knowledge of that product. It took me no longer than 20 minutes to realize that Breedlove's is highly overrated and overpriced. I gave it two stars because I (by myself) found a hibiscus) that I'd never seen. I loaded it up and headed to a much better nursery which was much better stocked with my desired plants. True, the nursery is little known about, but it is outstanding and well worth the short drive. read more
