Walton Medical Centre has recently moved to a new location in Breeze Hill which is just down the road from its previous location. It is now in a better position and more easily noticed nowadays plus it has that new fresh look about it. I have to say that it is a lot more improved in terms of the interior which offers plenty of seating areas and appears what a surgery should look like in comparison to the old and dull looking one. However, the service has not changed much and as in the previous review, it does take a while to make an appointment because there always seems to be a reason that the doctor is on holiday or they are fully booked. I would advise to book about 1 month in advance as about 80% of the time, you will not get your preferred time unless you are an emergency patient. read more

A new build to the area, Breeze Hill Medical Centre houses the old Walton Medical Centre and Grey Road Health Centre as well as other NHS services. Located on the flyover where Queens Drive and Rice Lane meet in the Walton area of Liverpool it is hard to miss. A Bus Stop is conveniently located close to the onsite chemist outside and there is also a medium sized car park located round the back. Medical services are to be found on the first two floors of the building with a ramp and lift providing disabled access for all. GP services are located on the ground floor with treatment room nurses, counseling, phlebotomy, diabetes clinics and podiatry being just some of the services offered upstairs. This was my doctor's office for about a year, when we lived in Walton. Over all, they are not a bad doctor's office. There are four different doctors, and contrary to popular belief, you can actually decide which of the doctors you like the best and only see that one. I met two of the doctors, though I only saw one over the course of that year. To be completely honest, I didn't really care for either of them, but I think that liking or not liking a doctor has a lot to do with how personalities do or do not mesh. Also, it's very hard to get an appointment here, or it was when they were our doctors. They are always very busy, and even when you do get in you still have to wait well beyond your appointed time before someone comes out and calls you in. There are also often a lot of sniffling, sneezing kids in the waiting room, so you may want to boost up on vitamin C before your visit. ;) I much prefer the doctors we see now on the Wirral. But as I said, you have a choice of four at Walton Medical Centre, so it's not all bad. read more

My name is Mark Hoare. I went to the health centre today, 11th October to make an appointment for a flu jab after receiving a letter from them. I Also asked for a pneumonia jab at the same time. I was told that the earliest date was in November. I explained that I would be in America at that time and would not be back until just before christmas. The receptionist shrugged and said that there was nothing she could do. By then there will probably be no more vaccines and it will be in the middle of the flu season. For somebody that rarely goes to the doctors, I find this attitude a bit alarming. Welcolme to UK and the NHS, this is what I paid my taxes for all these years. Will have to find out what other surgery I can transfer to as this one stinks. read more

i have just been to the Grey Road Health Center and i found the staff at the reception desk very unhelpful. There were 3 members of staff at the desk and 2 of them where chatting amongst themselves about there private life, not professional what so ever and the 3rd member of the staff asked if she could help so i gave her my details of my appointment and as i was doing this one of the staff who was chatting the older one out of the 2 said to me "use the self check in". i was unaware that there was such a thing and so didn't know how to use it. isn't that what the reception desk is for, and why they have a job ? honestly she made me feel like i was disturbing there conversation. so as i was waiting to be checked in, the phone was ringing and once again the older staff member told them to leave it just let it ring. so now i know why it takes so long to get through to them when trying to make appointments. that will be my last visit as i will be moving surgery i wont be made to feel like that after all im the patient ................ read more
