Yeah, I'm reviewing the lady parts doctor. Extremely impressed, the staff was exceptional, didn't feel uncomfortable at all. They all seemed to like their job which makes all the difference in the world. I ended up seeing Dr. Bors, she was very very nice. She's shown me more compassion then even my primary care doctor. Extremely thorough and takes her time with you for any questions. I came here today as a new patient for an annual checkup, and was in and out in about 20 minutes! I had an 8:15 appointment (basically one of the earliest you can get) and saw the nurse practitioner immediately. I saw ARNP Rebecca Groshner, who was very warm and friendly. She asked thoughtful questions and then handled my exam easily. It was over before I knew it... which is a great thing with that type of appointment. Everyone I talked to here was super nice. I actually just called yesterday to see about setting up an appointment, and the woman on the phone was so patient with me as I went through my calendar. And then I got lucky when she told me about a last-minute cancellation. I was thrilled at how easy it was to get worked in here, especially as a new patient. The overall vibe here is very cozy and warm. It feels more like a medspa than a doctor's office. So happy I found this place! read more

Recently went here for my first Pap smear, very kind and friendly staff. Even though I was extremely nervous, the staff made me feel comfortable and safe. I am a very private person so this was extremely hard doctors appointment to attend. Would definitely recommend! Side note: I saw Rebecca Groshner, which I was very worried about since another review said she was cold, but I did not have any problems with her. She was very friendly and explained everything before so I would not be nervous. My appointment was with Deborah Bridewell, ANRP. While I had to wait approximately an hour past my appointment to see her, she was professional, thorough and kind. All of the office staff are helpful and pleasant as well. The office is ridiculously clean and almost has an upscale "at home" feel to it. They are always kind and seem to always wanna help me and fix whatever is wrong. They never give up and are always nice about whatever is going on. I've been here twice now for annual exams. The doctor and nurse were very professional and pleasant the exam was quick (thankfully). However, both appointments seemed very rushed, which I somewhat understand because the schedule is probably jam-packed. But I felt like I had to hurry to ask all my questions and a few important things were skipped. It was somewhat odd how the nurse who takes your vitals asked me if I had any non-gyno medical concerns I'd like the doctor (Medlin) to address, but the doctor never addressed them when she came in, and when the nurse came back in she just said, "Dr. Medlin said you should talk to your primary physician about those concerns." OK.... why ask me about them in the first place? Another rushed issue was my blood pressure, the machine was reading that it was high (as it did last time) so they had to take it manually after the exam, which was fine. But the nurse never said whether the second reading was normal, high, low, etc. I'm completely ignorant about blood pressure and what the numbers mean, and while I did look it up online afterward, it would have been nice if the nurse had discussed what the reading meant and, most importantly, if I could get my birth control or not because of it.She just rushed me out the door to checkout. Apparently if it's a bit high, they won't refill/prescribe your BC. So now I have to call back and find out whether I'm going to get my BC refilled, and if not, what I can do to fix my blood pressure, which I think should have been discussed with me during my appointment. All in all, not a bad place to go, but you really have to be on your toes when you go in. read more

During my visit here, I was told (by the nurse Practitioner at the time) that I was getting too old to consider having a child. I went there for an annual visit and took the first appointment I could get since I had just relocated. I was barely 30 years old at the time. When I responded with "but many ppl have children well into their late 30", I was told "well , this isn't Hollywood". Having been torn at the time about when to start a family, I left there in tears. I never returned to this facility. And that NP's comments have stuck with me so I figured that after all this time, I needed to leave a review. Perhaps the NP was having a bad day, who knows. I have been coming to this practice for a year now because I needed an ob/gyn doctor that dealt with bio-identical hormones that are covered by my insurance (I went into early menopause, yadda, yadda). All of the staff are professional and friendly. Dr. Barry is supportive & knowledgable. But the reason I looked up Dr. Barry on Yelp was to comment on my appointment today. I had to have a procedure today that I was not looking forward to, and in fact, was very scared about and even dreading (a uterine biopsy). I had one before, 10 years ago, and it was a bad experience with my previous ob/gyn. Painful and scary all the way around. Todays experience could not have been more different. The first nurse (I'm sorry, I can't remember her name!) that took me back took plenty of time to explain every single detail about the procedure to make sure I knew what would be happening (i.e.-no surprises) and to try to relax me. She took her time to make sure all my questions & concerns were answered and then and only then, handed me my things to get changed into. During the procedure, the same nurse massaged my feet when a particularly uncomfortable part started and emphasized me paying attention to her to direct my attention away from what was going on. At the same time, another kind nurse, Ashley, was by my head, either patting my knee or keeping a hand on my arm and checking on me. Afterward everything was completed, I got light headed and woozy and had to stay until I was feeling better. Ashley got my husband from the waiting area and brought him back to help support me. Ashley then got me cold water, crackers, a cold cloth for my head; she didn't leave me until I was feeling better. I never felt rushed. I could not have felt more supported and taken care of. Even a few days before the procedure, Ashley went over everything on the phone, emailed me everything I needed to be aware of and even made sure I brought my iPod with me so I could play relaxing music during the procedure to keep me as relaxed as possible. I also have to give special kudos to Missy; she handles the insurance & billing for the office. When it was first discovered that I needed this biopsy, she tried to schedule the appointment for me but realized that the entire rest of the year was booked solid. I had already met my insurance deductible for the year so I was trying desperately to get as much done this year as I could. This was also important to me because after Jan. 2014 my insurance carrier was going to change and I would have to wait at least 2-2 1/2 weeks into January to make sure my HSA money would be transferred, etc, etc and it was going to be 4-6 weeks until I could get in for my biopsy. Frankly, this was keeping me up at night because of my past medical history. Missy made sure I was on a cancellation list and called me whenever she had a new opening. She understood completely how important this was to me and worked her tail off!!! I was able to get in much earlier purely because of her diligence. Thank you again, everyone at Dr. Barry's office, for being so professional, kind, nurturing and supportive through this whole mess. I don't think there was anything more you could've done to help me feel better through this. I will wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Barry to any woman who is in need of a new ob/gyn. read more

I normally use yelp as a convenience tool to find places in my area so I don't review unless im really dissatisfied. The workers here are all very judgmental and if you ask them a simple insurance question they will not give you an answer. I have been to their office 5x and it was for either bcp, or various check ups. My office is across the street so making the office trip was easy. Today I got a bill from a debt collector for $200..yes.. they went through such measures as to hit their patient with a debt collector for $200.. which my medical insurance should have paid for. My copays for most doctor office visits are $25. I have never had such unprofessional service at any medical office. read more

I regularly see ARNP Medlin (I adore her. Really professional, intelligent, informative, and sweet) but she didn't have any openings this time, so I saw Dr. Bors. Dr. Bors did not explain what she was about to do, she just did the examination without telling me beforehand. I anticipated what she was going to do, but it would've been helpful if she kept me in the loop before she prodded. She also seemed rushed, did not ask me if I had any questions or concerns. I waited for about an hour just for a 5-minute visit. She did not even apologize for the wait whatsoever. This particular visit definitely made me realize the huge difference in patient interaction between nurses (ARNP in this case) and doctors. read more

I wish I could give a better review for Brenda Barrys, Woman Care. Unfortunately, my experiences from the front reception, to the ultrasound results, were sub par. I came in for a sharp pain. They told me to come back in two weeks if it continued. I was told I would need an ultrasound after waiting the two weeks.The receptionist laughed at me when I asked if It was possible to schedule the ultrasound for that week. Reception told me it would be another month. I had to then get a referral to go to another location, pay another co-pay, and wait over a week for the results. After that, I got a call saying my IUD needed to be removed- immediately. I will say, they did get me quickly into Dr. Walkers office on Orange Ave. There is where I found my new Doctor! Dr. Walker, turned out to be a compassionate doctor, who exceeded my expectations. After the surgery, I went back to Womans Care for another pain. I had to get an "exam" which took 5 minutes, to then, wait another hour for the needed ultrasound. I was told, that I needed to go a gastroenterologist for the pain. That there was nothing that should be causing that. That was not the case. Those results took over a week and half. In the time of waiting, I went back to Dr. Walkers office. I got the results and answers quickly before Barrys, Woman Care got back to me. When Woman Care did get back, the results were contradictory to Dr. Walkers. Dr. Walker answered my questions and is continuing to monitor the issue. read more

I went to this office recently and had my appointment with the ARNP Rebecca Groshner. She was incredibly polite, very up-front and informative. I thought she was great and I recommended this office/her to a friend. The entire staff is friendly and polite as well. Oh, and I got in quickly and didn't wait long at all. I did go fairly early in the morning though, which usually helps at any office if you have that capability in your work schedule. read more

Love them all! Everyone here is super welcoming- from the moment you walk in to the moment you check out. They don't even get annoyed with my irritating questions when I call. Rebecca Medlin is my usual doctor that I see here and I have to say she is so amazing. She takes the time to explain everything and really makes the visit personable and gets to know any concerns you may have and answers all the questions. Obviously gyno visits isn't what we all look forward to but she is so sweet and positive I really don't mind my visits. I feel like she really cares for her patients as she has done multiple follow up calls to make sure everything is going well. 10/10 would recommend to all women!! read more

Most of the staff are inconsiderate, especially Sandy. They came highly recommended but the only concern of the office is that they get great reviews. Long wait times for appointments; no follow up from doctors or nurse practitioners even when [phone calls are made. "practitioners" do not make phone calls. So if you have a question - do not expect to hear from anyone but triage nurse Sandy-and she is no help at all. read more

I would definitely recommend. I gave the practice 4 stars because (this is petty, actually) there is nowhere to hang clothes so you have to drape them over the back of a chair. Office staff has absolutely no respect for their patients time and money. I sincerely hope the person who made my appointment today is being investigated by management as she should not be handling appointments or dealing with patients. I needed to come in a week early for a multitude of reasons and my insurance would only pay my annual after exactly 365 days - she refused to give me any cost over the phone but I scheduled anyway because I had to. Once I get to the office they allow me to sit naked and uncomfortable for a full half hour before telling me they would not be doing my annual bc my insurance would not cover it. What!? I AGAIN ask for cost to proceed and they again leave bc apparently they didn't think that information would be important to me to have prepared up front for this discussion. The cost was well over what it has cost me for non-annual appointments there in the past (I have to be seen every 6 months due to a medical issue). They should have been able to discuss the cost with me over the phone when I asked so that I could make an educated decision and this all should have been noted before abandoning a patient in a waiting room while you try to figure out something that the patient was already aware of. I have a very small amount of PTO that I have to use for everything - appointments, sick days, personal time, vacation - I don't appreciate having it wasted when I called in advance to discuss all of this information and was refused. Please have someone knowledgable about your practice and procedure costs handle appointment scheduling in the future. Luckily I won't be returning. read more
