I received the invoice in the mail, for almost $900. That amount can cripple a small business. The invoice didn't specify or have a breakdown of why it was so much. When I called the office for clarification, I was told the tax prep took almost 5 hours. 2 hours alone to input previous years taxes into "the system." When I asked what "the system" was, I was only told their internal system. The past years filings from previous accountants took 1-2 hours. For a firm this size, I don't see how a simple return can take 5 hours.

As a former Corporate Executive, I find this kind of attitude and activity of an employee appalling and bad for business. After paying the $35/year dues and choosing to renew my business registration myself (takes 5 minutes) each year, for several years as their customer, they suddenly charged me $200 for a renewal that I did not give permission for them to perform, and that they could not yet actually perform for several more weeks. Without notice, they changed their policy to automatically sign all customers up for their service of renewing the customer's business registration with the state. What a.... choice, as a business. I cannot imagine making a choice like that as a business owner to essentially pull a fast one on all my customers. The renewal itself takes 5 minutes, max, and they want to charge $200.... which, fine, charge whatever you want for your services, but not WITHOUT MY CONSENT to perform the service!!!! They did refund me, which I appreciated, but this policy was so slimy and greedy that I do not trust them to handle any legal matters for my business if that's how they handled such a basic policy. I took my business elsewhere.

Every year our 401k was sent the same Safe Harbor paperwork and we are always billed for the same amount when the same letter from the previous year was used and nothing new was done. I questioned it every year as any client should be able to but this year she lost her cool and discharged as she just can't work with us for questioning the billing. I guess we were not good little clients that never questions and just pay the billing. Great way to make a lot of money for the company by billing for the same thing with no new work. We also found out the fidelity bond we have had should have been increased but Ms. Moehl never informed us to do this because well we don't know why since she worked so hard on our account and billed us for work that she said she was doing. I have no email saying increase your bond. Do not recommend at all.
