The staff are attentive, passionate about their mission, and I have better feedback (resume, cover letter and tactics/tools) than before talking to them. I especially enjoy Wilma, who helps with job searches. She knows about a lot of resources, is tuned in, caring, personable. I am giving a four vs five rating, because at times I've waited a while for my appointment because the persona I was waiting for did not know I was there, although I told the staff. But I will return for more coaching and resources for figuring out my next career move.

A standard business model incorporates "Good service at a fair price" -- this was not the case. Could tell from the atmosphere that employee's seemed to be bullied by upper management. When I questioned loss of return after Beth replied, "I'm only human." She did not offer to return my tax fee when Jackson Hewitt promotes that it will be refunded if maximum return was not met. Pushed me off to colleague in Portland when I asked for supervisor, he covered for her and also did not offer return of preparation although I brought it up. I received the invoice in the mail, for almost $900. That amount can cripple a small business. The invoice didn't specify or have a breakdown of why it was so much. When I called the office for clarification, I was told the tax prep took almost 5 hours. 2 hours alone to input previous years taxes into "the system." When I asked what "the system" was, I was only told their internal system. The past years filings from previous accountants took 1-2 hours. For a firm this size, I don't see how a simple return can take 5 hours.

I called her office-both offices she works at- and she kept deliberately ignoring my calls and messages through MyBlock. I had several receptionists leave my number on her desk numerous times and she would not reach back! When I finally got ahold of her, she told me she "gave up on my tax return". Would've been nice to know she was incompetent at her job so I could have found another agent sooner but she really wasted my time.
