My story nearly echoes the same things others state on the BBB website. They wanted all banking, income and debt info but were never in the office to receive it. Every time I went there, I would have to send an email asking when someone would be in and the reply was ALWAYS "what time can you come in tomorrow"? Never same day. Was told to bring in contract Friday, got there at 2PM (because previously told they take lunch from noon-1:30), nobody there, emailed Matt, received reply it's a holiday weekend (Memorial Day) and they will be back Tuesday. Then it took weeks for a "pre-approval" and they ran our credit every which way. They never answered calls, questions were just general answers you can find on the internet, we were always put on the back burner, finally said they had all the info needed but I had to give them $600 before they could sent it to underwriting. I had already paid with a money order two weeks earlier but then got a call from their processor stating they never received it. That got straightened out when the processor called me. She told me it was now between her and the underwriter so I told her I had been in a nightmare dealing with the unprofessionalism of the Morris location and she told me I was done dealing with Matt Mallon and she would let the RM above him know of my complaints. I told her I didn't want my complaint to jeopardize our loan. I was told we "are very well qualified". A RM never called me but BOOM, next morning the appraiser calls to tell me the appraisal has been canceled by Matt. I call the processor and she sends a text 18hours later saying that there is a problem with an old student loan on my husband. I get an email from Matt simply stating that "it didn't work out" and they will send $450 back to me in "a few weeks". I was SHOCKED! This is over a 4k loan that I can pay off by snapping my fingers; it's literally nothing in the scheme of buying a house. So Matt says he's sending it back to underwriting and I'll hear back in 5 days. I get an email 5 days later saying " attached you will find your denial. This action has been taken at the direction of your Loan Officer, who submitted a request to deny your loan file." The attachment then says "Reason for Denial- Insufficient Income". So is that the income that he had proof of a month earlier while they wasted our time and took our money? Is that the income they had when they said there was a problem with an old student loan? Is that the income they had when they said we were "well qualified" for the loan? The first email said it all. The Loan Officer requested for the loan to be denied. Not because of our income, but out of retaliation. Do not do business with this company. EVER.
