A-List sent a DJ at 6:30pm along with John's sidekick to ask if we still wanted their services. They tried to get me to say I didn't need a DJ but that isn't accurate since I did need a DJ and that's what I contracted them for. John is still refusing to refund and I've filed a complaint with BBB. Fortunately someone else stepped up to save the event.

She was very quick to respond in her emails and seemed very friendly, with a great sense of humor. I was really looking forward to meeting Kara at her Geneva studio, at a time of her choosing. Well, Kara was late. She explained why, but seemed frazzled and very unapologetic. She was dressed unprofessionally. Is that a deal-breaker (30 Rock, anyone)? No, but first impressions mean a lot. She was very brusque and I really felt like my fiance and I were inconveniencing her by having the meeting. When I attempted to ask questions, she laughed and glanced down at the list I had with me, saying, "What else am I supposed to answer? I love these lists of questions." Ummm, okay. At that point I knew that there was no way I'd ever hire her. I really felt like Kara could have cared less whether we booked her or not--like our business mattered nothing to her.
