We found Brewers Haven when using the Untapped Android App to find a Mother Earth and Fremont Brewing collaborative IPA called 4 Seasons Hazy IPA. Untapped showed the beer was available at Brewers Haven so we stopped in. We were surprised they have a small seating area they call Valhalla where you can drink your beer. Their concept is you can buy individual cans or bottles of beer and not have to commit to buying a whole six pack. You can enjoy the beer in Valhalla and then just take the beer empties to the cash register and pay (or you can buy the beer first) they are pretty laid back. You can walk into the walk-in cooler and grab a cold glass for your beer. They also have a few beers on tap. And beyond the many fridges full of beer ready to drink, they have a full complement of all the things you need to home brew. read more

I went to Brewer's Heaven because I needed some winemaking supplies. When I walked in, a medium-sized dog started jumping all over me. I am allergic to dogs. I said this to the staff. They called the dog off. The dog initially was obedient, but it kept coming back to me and jumping up on me. I couldn't fend it off with my hands, because the more contact I have with dog dander, the worse the facial swelling will be. The staff seemed amused by the dog's behavior and my discomfort. If the dog is more important to the business owner than a customer with a medical condition, I will take my money elsewhere. read more

Beer selection is pretty nice, but the service is absolutely terrible. No one talked with us the entire time we were there, we never were asked if we needed help, and their COVID-19 protocols are a joke. No masks were worn, social distancing didn't exist, etc. read more

Came here for a growler fill prior to a party I was attending. I was immediately greeted and ushered back to where they do the growler fills. There have 7 beers on tap. She allowed me to try a couple before I settled on Sockeye's Maibock (not my favorite Sockeye beer--but decent). The prices are reasonable ($11.50 growler fills). They also have an area where you can sit and enjoy a beer in house. They have tons of brewing supplies and an amazing bottle selection. Overall, they have a little something for every beer lover--whether you brew your own, like a good draft selection for growler fills, looking for an expansive bottle selection, or just want to sit back and relax with your favorite brew.... The guy that took my card asked if I wanted a receipt and I said no. $13.50 came out of my bank. If my math is right, it should have been $12.67 with tax. On the hunt for supplies to take advantage of the beautiful concord grapes growing in the backyard. Yep, we are making wine! Walked in with questions and we were directed to the book section to look for lists that we could reference after left. Not only were we helped to find the book, he helped us find the recipe, and then took us around the shop to show us what we needed. It was only after I headed to the cash register that I turned and realized this place is also a bar! They have a huge selection of big boy bottles of beer in the coolers and on tap. You can literally just grab a beer from the cooler, crack it open, and drink it while you shop - or watch the game. Fantastic service, fantastic place! read more

OK, so this place is awesome. It is in my neighborhood, has delicious sweet grapefruit drinks, (and basically all other types of drinks) and there are DOGGOS! There is a little beer garden here where you can watch a game or just drink and catchup with friends. It is a simple place, has stuff if you want to brew and you can fill up growlers. Brewer's Haven just opened a month or two ago, and as such isn't fully up to it's potential yet. However, this place features the largest selection of brewing materials in the most easy to find location in the Treasure Valley. They have beers you can buy, recipes to use and a room for "tasting" that's modeled after a viking hall. Ok, it's not EXACTLY like it's Valhalla or anything, but still it's pretty cool. Best part about this place is that they want your business and treat you like you matter. Last time I was in there, even the rep from the beer distributor they buy from was talking the owners up. Prices are average, cleanliness is above average and customer service is tied with Nampa Brew Center. Best place in Boise for beer brewing supplies by FAR. read more

Another good store in town for craft beer lovers, the distinction here being that it also serves as the place to go to get the tools necessary to brew your own beer. Like the Co-Op and Brewforia, the selection is large and impressive in scope. They offer a few things I can't get at the other two (Hitachino Nest in large bottles!). Based on what I buy, the pricing here between the three is generally middle-of-the-road, but there's been an occasional time where my eyes bulge out since they're charging substantially more than the others. I'd recommend calling all three places and comparing prices. The store is pretty frumpy. It looks like it used to be a smoke shop. If you want to go to a place that sells good beer and want to hang out and drink some beer in a nice setting, then head to Brewforia. Otherwise just buy what you need here and split. Occasionally they have a rep from various breweries come in and let you sample their offerings. read more

This place has my heart (and my dog is a pretty big fan as well). The staff are incredibly knowledgeable especially if you're homebrewing for the first time. They have an awesome selection of bottled brews as well as a constantly rotating tap. What could be better than having a beer with your pooch? This review is a really tough one to write. There are two aspects to this store: the selling of brewing equipment and their outward, service-y aspect. For the gear, I'd like to rate a little lower, maybe two stars. Their cardinal sin: running out of liquid malt extract. Honestly, we quit shopping for supplies here b/c three times in a row, they were out of pale LME. That stuff is pretty common and, additionally, the dry ME is super expensive anywhere you buy it. It's so common, it'd be like a grocery store running out of bread. They also don't have an amazing selection of hops and yeast (often, they are out of some varieties). On the other hand, they regularly host free beer tastings from local (and out of state) breweries, put on a great show, organize food trucks, and have a quaint little tap room with 4-5 rotating taps. This part makes me wish I lived down the street! So, there you go, three stars is the compromise. I don't want these guys to go away, I just want them to up their game in terms of sales / stock. read more

I don't brew beer, but I drink it, and this place has a great selection and very friendly, helpful service. If I did brew beer, this seems like a good place to go, since the employees are knowledgeable and nice. The prices for beer are a little higher for the same beer as, say, Winco, but not bad and they have some unusual stuff. I don't mind paying a bit more since I'm supporting a local business and I'm supporting BEER! Also, since their inventory is large, they have quite a bit of overhead. read more

They have the best bottle selection of anywhere in this part of town, and very reasonable prices. The tap list for their tasting room is especially good right now, with lots of dark, sweet, barrel aged goodness at $3.50/half pint. The tasting room is very small, making if better for meeting new people than for having a private conversation or bringing a large group. I've met a lot of fellow beer enthusiasts there and had some great conversations. If I could, I would lower my rating of them to 4.5 for their lack of a regular food truck. The array of junk food for purchase at their counter, together with their policy of allowing outside food in makes them better than average. Still, a taco truck on premises would be an enormous improvement. read more

The girl behind the counter was very friendly and she allowed me to make my own health choices without harassment or threats (which is VERY important to me). I had previously been shopping at a competitor closer to me but that competitor apparently has turned into a medical expert and policy enforcement agent. I vote with my wallet. Beer is good. Widmer Drop Top Amber Ale is great! Brewer's Haven had beer and Drop Top, delicious place. I was suggested to try my first oatmeal stout imported from England. Solid recommendation. I think they have free beer tastings on Wednesdays, I got to jump on that. read more

Wow! What a gem of a place!! We heard about a Rogue tasting happening one Wednesday night, only to find out that they offer tastings from different breweries every Wednesday night! Awesome! During the tasting, we learned from a brewery representative about their beers and the process they use to produce each beer. We also were able to buy beer from their shop in the bottle or on draft to drink in between each tasting. I like that they don't add any extra "corking" fees and that they prices are reasonable. Great place to come and have a couple beers with you friends. They also allow dogs. read more

A friendly place to stop in! We were visiting my son who lives in Boise and being winemakers decided to stop in and check it out. Although they are geared mostly towards beer and beer brewing, we were pleasantly surprised to discover their selection and to see how welcoming they are. We will visit again next time in Boise. I'm both a home brewer and craft beer geek. Not only does Brewers Haven have a fantastic selection of home brewing supplies, but it has one of the best craft beer selections in Boise. The staff is generally very helpful and kind. One great feature for the home brewer is the ability to buy exactly how much grain you need, need .10lb of flaked oat? then you can get just that instead of having to buy in 1lb increments. I feel like a kid in toy store every time I go. read more

Plus they have a few taps and a little tasting room where you can sample before you buy. Did I forget to mention an amazing selection of bombers and six-packs? This is the cutting edge, the future of beer, and it couldn't be more down-home and friendly. And what's better than that? Even if you're a Bud drinker, you should go in and sniff the hops, and taste the barley (which is encouraged) and understand a little more about what's actually going into your beer. Great beer selection. If I don't like what's on tap I can find something in the fridge. Outside Patio faces a parking lot ... But they allow dogs out there! Friendly service.
