Quality/Quantity - What a great find! And a nonprofit. If you are following, we will be home (in Reno) for a few more days and want to spend more time exploring our city and neighboring cities. This has popped up (among a few other events), so we decided to visit this first. Again, what a great find. So much art in the historic buildings surrounding the other buildings and throughout the town (murals!). I took very few pictures (can you believe that, lol), as I decided to drive versus walk on this very hot day. Ambiance - Two blocks...? Not just the old brewery, but all the adjoining buildings. And the lot across the street with the stage, see pictures. Lastly, the old church... is not a church any more, lol. Free outdoor summer concerts, see website. Theater, performance hall, exhibit hall, grand ballroom, education wing, etc. Classes, membership; see websites. Small parking lot, but other than the artists, we were the only guests here, lol. Well, the rest of the parking lot is currently being used for this event. Call or check their website for hours. Service - Everyone is so welcoming. Price - Free, thank you! Great performance by all of the actors! What an enjoyable Sunday afternoon watching art come to life through such talented individuals. I especially appreciated the nice touch at the end -- the actors taking their time during the curtain call to greet and thank all of the patrons. That made the experience even more personal and memorable. However, my first impression of the venue itself wasn't great. This was my first time visiting, and we had difficulty finding parking since it wasn't clear whether parking across by the church was allowed. We were able to find street parking and walked across. Once we arrived, we had trouble figuring out where to enter for the main stage performance. Unfortunately, the woman at the concessions counter (confections) was not helpful or friendly, which made things even more confusing. We ended up walking back and forth between buildings trying to find the correct entrance. The performance was 5-star, but the venue experience -- especially the initial interaction at the concessions counter -- was disappointing. NO stars. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future visitors. read more

My second stop on the Carson city wine walk held first Saturday of every month. I just love Kathy and the gals pouring the wine! They have wine charms for $1, if it's your first wine walk they'll give you one for free. They also sell other crafts at a reasonable price. The Brewery Arts changes their venue quarterly so there is always something new to look at and enjoy the talented artists work. They sell yummy candy from the case, all sorts of decadent delights. If you haven't been to a Brewery Arts event YOU are missing out on some of THE BEST entertainment in all of Northern Nevada. From an entire summer of live music to theatre shows and cultural celebrations, this community institution keeps it coming! But bigger and better than that, they give the stage and spotlight to emerging artists and the types of experiences we all need to have more of here, and I am grateful to have this team in our community. Over the weekend I had the chance to experience the inaugural Tamale Fest which brought together nearly a dozen different tamale chefs who shared their signature recipes, cultural holiday dance performances by a local Ballet Folklorico group, Mexican holiday traditions, and more for all to enjoy. I loved the mole tamale served by the first vendor in the room. The pork was so delicate and the mole so deeply flavored, all wrapped in the lightest of masa! I also enjoyed a sweet corn tamale prepared by Centro Market, which was set off in a savory direction with the addition of a spicy salsa! This was a great first year event and clearly the word got out, as there was a line waiting to get in that wrapped around the block and stayed that way until the end of the event! Went to the Brewery Arts Center to view the Rock Poster Art, which originated in Virginia City. With respect to the exhibit, I did not take pictures of the posters, but found it fascinating and fun to view them. Lots of Big Brother and the Holding Company posters. And a plug, from me that Brewery Arts will host them in a free upcoming concert. Grateful Dead and other 60's bands poster on loan from a couple of well known people in Carson City. It was so cool to view them, and view their ticket stubs. Patricia Best, one of the staff was very personable and a great conversationist and historian. Appreciated her time she spent with us and you could feel her passion for art and our Northern Nevada history. Loved the story of Brewery Arts resident ghost! Viewing is free, there is a suggested donation. I personally thought it was a fun way to spend the afternoon, taking a walk down Memory Lane. read more

The Levitt Amp free outdoor concerts at the Brewery Arts Center on Saturdays in Carson City is awesome! They have 10 Saturday concerts that run from June through August. The concerts showcase a wide variety of music acts and so far every one I have seen has been good! There is also food trucks and it is family friendly. Great way to spend watching the sunset and listening to live music! read more

We come here a lot during the summer for their Concert series. It's free fun for families with kids and even without kids. They have food trucks around so you can enjoy the music along with food and drinks! Even if it's not your kind of music it's still a lot of fun. They have different genres come in and give you a whole variety of good music!! The staff who puts on the concerts are friendly and local businesses help support the concerts. Went last week for the first time. The BAC is hosting an interactive exhibit from the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame with about a dozen historic pinball machines and some memorabilia. It's there for a limited time. I enjoyed playing all the machines. Midweek was not busy and the hosts was very nice and informative. I'm really glad that I went for a couple of hours. read more

Great venue, but I wish they would show the short film competition more than once! Maybe a later showing like 9pm or show them more than one day so more people could come and appreciate them. If you come between 5 and 7 before the Levitt App free concert you can check out this exhibit for free. If you want to sit at the concert, you must bring your own gear. There is beer and a few food trucks too. You can get change to play all the machines @ 25 cents a game at the desk. The Brewery Arts center has changed up the gallery space and now has these Boomer themed commercial type exhibits. I went to the Red Baron themed Snoppy cartoon show and this pin ball and rock show. You can still buy the special hand crafted chocolate and a few other craft items. It's a fun show running thru October I think. There is sanitizer on the front desk also. read more

The performance hall at Brewery Arts Center is great for a small town outside concert. Levitt Amp concert series preformed and it blew us away. The talent and instruments still makes me want to dance. There were food trucks, alcohol for adults. There was activities and snow cones for the kiddos. It's a great place to spend with the family on a Saturday night. read more

An intimate night of music. The Performance Hall at the Brewery Arts Center is the epitome of intimate venues. Comfortably holding around 250 people in a former church, the seating and sound were perfect for a night of acoustic music. Our second time to the venue, we once again were entertained by former Paul McCartney and Wings guitarist Laurence Juber. This time he was joined by Grammy award winning ukulele player Daniel Ho. What a treat to listen to 2 hours of incredible music. Being a musician, I am at awe listening to what Laurence can do on an acoustic guitar. Playing tunes from the 30's to Beatles, Wings and even a Who song, what a treat it was to see and hear so much sound from a single guitar. Not to be outdone, Daniel Ho was equal to the task on the 2 ukes he had on stage. Again, incredible what can come out of a tiny instrument in the hands of a true artist. If you have a chance to see either of these musicians, do it! Seeing them in such a small venue only added to the acoustic magic of the evening. A great place to see acts and very reasonable compared to the ever rising ticket prices of shows at bigger venues (our tickets were $25/ea). There's plenty of lot and street parking around the Center and super easy to get to. Looking forward to our next visit! read more

The show was fantastic as were the personnel of the casino and the Brewery Arts Center. Whenever I am in the area, I usually check if there is anything going on at the Brewery Arts Center, a small performing arts center near the capitol in Carson City. We had an amazing time at the bluegrass music event February 2012 - Russell Moore and 111rd Tyme Out. We've gone to some local performances given by University of Nevada music staff and students. Its a small venue - which means every seat is great. Its open seating. Wine and beverages have been for sell before the show and during intermission at the shows we've gone to. There is a small parking lot - and if that is full plenty of parking usually on the street. read more

Nice little theater.Went to see THE ODD COUPLE. First half of play pretty bad with stupid characters, but the 2nd half of play was much better.They need to have more disabled seating and have hand rails.If they cannot afford it perhaps apply for government or state/ city grant. read more

Great evening last night listening to IIIrd Tyme out. Nice venue for a concert with comfortable seats and relatively small seating area so you can actually see the performers. And the price of admission is very reasonable. Looking forward to Men of Worth coming in March. read more
