We stayed at the extended stays at the motor lodge next door. Be aware - you have to register at the casino as the office for the motor lodge hasn't been used in years. Basically our room was two rooms that have been converted into a suite that has a kitchen, little dining island, living room, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. It has two doors to enter, so a little weird but honestly, super practical. The rooms were very quiet and I couldn't hear any noise from any neighbors. The shower was great and the water stayed super hot through both of our showers. The room was spacious and clean (though the floor could have been swept/mopped better imo). The first night we were there, someone got sick in the parking lot. I called the operator and explained the situation and asked if they had anyone to clean it up as it wasn't exactly what anyone wants to see and to my surprise they immediately sent someone out who was able to clean up that spot! Thank you!! The casino is small, but had some good games. Overall, I'd stay here again. read more

Really enjoyed staying here! There were kind bellmen and receptionists. Our room was on the same floor as the casino, so very convenient. Rooms were great - temperature controlled well, very clean and modern looking. Only negatives were housekeeping knocked twice to clean our room on our check-out day, and gave a lil sass when we weren't ready. And access from hotel room to street/walkable restaurants (which there were plenty!) was tough. There was no back entrance so it was a good 5 min walk to leave the building. I will definitely come back though, it had everything I needed! And the slots treated me well :)) read more

Staff is super friendly all the bartenders are awesome friendly and great service! Sports book is a Cesar's ran book staff behind the counter super friendly and great service! Rooms were nice and clean also no complaints there! Indoor pool and hot tubs with great views. If I had one complaint it would be allowing smoking at the center bar while food is being served or eaten someone next to you can light up. Back bar by the steak house doesn't allow this I think main bar should be same rule with smoking around where food is being served . 9/10 for sure at this place read more

We spent two nights at this hotel for a reunion. The hotel room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was also clean. The employees were courteous. This hotel offers valet parking for free. Hotel parking lot is located in back of the casino. We at the restaurant inside the casino and the breakfast was delicious. I loved the oatmeal and sausage. The hotel employees did an excellent job Of putting this reunion together. The food, drinks, and tables service went well without any problems. I live in Reno and have been to many, many, hotel casinos in my life, but this place is just special. The friendliest staff I've ever seen. Table games (if you can catch them when they're open) are the best because you won't be fighting for a seat, the friendliest staff and people, and only $10 per hand! The rooms are clean, fairly upscale and above standard for a casino and they don't smell! The steakhouse at this place is next level, better than most of the fancy (and expensive) Reno bars nes I've had! Overall, this place exceeds expectations and is absolutely wonderful. If you're in Minden, or just want to have a nice vacation, give it a try. I certainly will be back. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised with the Carson Valley Inn! I was in the area for a wedding and we chose this for convenience over anything else, but it honestly exceeded our expectations. As is any casino, it was very smokey everywhere, however, it was completely clean and clear in our non-smoking room. Our room was basic from a design aspect, but it was very clean. The AC worked wonderfully, the bed was surprisingly SUPER comfortable, and the shower had the most amazing shower pressure! The casino was very fun, and the drinks were SO cheap. It was lovely! The staff was (mostly) wonderful. They dont handle themselves under stress of a big check in (not for myself personally but noticed it when waiting to check in - but for all I know, the guest could have been the problem). But they had a convenient little "store" next to the front desk for drinks and snacks, check in and out was easy and quick, and they were very accommodating of our very late check in when we called ahead to let them know. This is a great, clean, location to stay at if you're driving through to Nevada on the loneliest road. Stayed here overnight. Despite being a casino downstairs, did not smell smoke nor heard any noises. Comfortable bed but flat pillows. Some wear on furnitures but overall, clean. Provided k cup coffee and tea. The best part was the shower!! It was one of the best showers in terms of pressure with quiet, thick, sliding door that doesn't slam! Loved it! Overall, 3.5 stars. read more

My husband and I stay here every year and love the facilities. There are three different food establishments so no need to even leave the property. They have everything from a steakhouse to a diner to a coffee and smoothie shop. The hotel staff, valet, staff, housekeepers, and servers in the restaurants are all very friendly. Some of the rooms have great views, the rooms are very spacious, and the restrooms have been updated nicely. It has a nice indoor swimming pool and two hot tubs however, the hot tubs do not have strong jets. The casino has a lot of gaming options which are fun. I gave this property five stars because it is a great value for what you're paying and has a lot of amenities. Obviously the price you're paying it is not a five star hotel. read more

We've stayed at the motor lodge, The rv park and the hotel. All accomplish their mission with flying colours. Even Katie's and the other eateries are outstanding. Each should have their own page on Yelp. The rooms are always clean. The motor lodge is like most low cost places, the pillows suck and the in-room coffee service is for those that are desperate. Shower pressure was decent. Everything was acceptable from the television to the toiletry/towel set-up. I prefer the motor lodge because I can park right outside my door and I avoid a lot of the hustle and bustle of the hotel/casino. The desk staff are constantly showing us new discounts based on organizations we align with or job related events. We rarely see housekeeping, but the ones we know are super helpful. 05/24 read more

We stayed here for a night for a Lee Brice concert and actually won a concert, hotel, dinner and free play package through a local radio station. When we arrive for our room, the front desk was very polite and the room was clean and modern. Before the concert we ate at the steak house and I had the filet steaks and a my wife and I shared a bottle of wine. The food was great and the service was awesome as well. The concert facility was really cool and we enjoyed the stay. The pool is pretty cool as it's in the shape of Nevada. read more

CVI is our place to stay whenever we're in town. Which is pretty often. At least 2-3 times a year. We usually stay in the RV park when we have our van with us. We have stayed in the hotel a couple times as well. We're pretty satisfied with both areas. This time we're staying in the motor lodge section of CVI. It's ok. Not our favorite. The room needs a lot of updating. It's a little dingy in some areas and it's not as clean as we expected it to be. Curtains have hooks missing and signs of stains. Bathroom rusting in some spots and exhaust fan cover just hanging to dear life. It's a nice location and it's walking distance to a lot of places. Oh also, the walls are super thin. We can hear our neighbors talking clearly. It's like they're just in our bathroom at 1 point their conversation was so clear. This motor lodge had a lot of potential so please please CVI management please consider updating and give the rooms some attention. It's going to be really bad in a couple of months if it's not attended to asap. Love love love CVI. Staff is 110% helpful and kind!!! Save the motor lodge. Do t let it be an afterthought read more

Their new cash out machines are the worst. None of the staff or patrons like them at all & now we all go to the cashier cage to get our tickets cashed out. The new machines are slower & wont give you the small change of your money back. The company should have tested them out at this property before fully purchasing the machines. Why buy something without testing it out at your property first & see how well they work & if the patrons were going to even use them. Oh well at least the cashier staff will make a little bit more as people cash out & hopefully tip. read more

You know I admit I didn't have any expectations of this place when I first walked in. Figured it would be old and maybe janky. Be ready for a good amount of smoke smacking you in the face. But I was pleasantly surprised overall. They have a sports book which we happily placed some sports bets, also a small area for card games, normal slot machines and a small poker room. They have a 24/7 diner, a nice steakhouse(see my review on that) and a cute little coffee shop with very good prices on coffee and homemade danishes/pastries(very much enjoyed). The room was surprisingly decent and I never got the vibe that it was dirty which I normally get even in nicer places. I would totally go back for another golf adventure and stay here. read more

So I recently stayed at this location. And the 1st day i stayed there i had a bad experience with a employee that was working the Gas station store. This Hotel is located in Minden Nevada and I've you ever stayed there you know this hotels owns its own gas station and gas station store. So i had just gotten back to my hotel and my wife send me to the store to get some drinks for us and the friends we had gone with. So as soon as i walked into the store i seen the way the employee looked at me and i already knew she was going to give me some type of attitude. So i walked in and grabbed some drinks and mind you im 30 years old, so she asked for my ID so I provided her with my ID and my ID expired on my birthday just a few weeks ago so she scanned it and said it was expired so I explained to her how i had already renewed it but haven't received it in the mail yet because the DMV takes long or what not. So i called my wife over and she showed her, her ID and she just flat out declined to sell us anything she was acting like my wife was buying drinks to an underage kid or something. So we got upset and called the front desk and they send out a guy and he started talking to her and then to us and we explained the situation so he made a phone call and told her straight up that i was 30 and that my wifes ID is valid so she is able to sell us the drinks and she still flat out denied she started saying that she can decline service to whoever she likes by law and then she started lying and making things up saying that we screamed at her and we even got more upset because that was a lie and i even told the guy like dude there's cameras and that will show u how shes lying. At the end he said he couldn't do much since its her right to deny service to whoever she wants even tho there was no reason and then he proceeded to tell me that i should make a complaint against them for racism. He even knew it was racism. So i did and I gave the front desk the papers when i checked out. So if your Latino or better yet non White please be advised and careful because I keeped getting nasty looks all through that hotel and even when i took my wife and kids to the pool. I can tell they weren't happy i was there but its just sad how theres alot of racism till this day. read more

Love going to the Carson Valley Inn! I try to spend a lot of time in Minden and the people here are awesome. They have a beautiful indoor pool and two hot tubs along with a decent little workout room. The CVI steakhouse is awesome - be sure to ask for Hunter or Cisco as your server. The slots are great and they have a separate poker room. Job's Perk is a little coffee shop that has a bagel and cream cheese for less than $1.50! They also have a travel item section that is better than the hotels where they sell water, soup and sandwiches, etc. There's a great walking trail behind the hotel/casino. For a quick meal you can go to Katie's Country Kitchen for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Be sure to check out CVI's sports bar (also checkout the bar menu-awesome burger) and they have a place to make sports bets. ENJOY! read more

Awesome place. The service is excellent and the folks are friendly. Everyone is helpful. Place is clean and parking is plentiful. Our room was perfect. Great bed and shower. We were on the second floor and opened the windows which made for a very comfortable sleep. Easy to walk down to the casino. Sat in the sports book area and watched football games. The female server was on her job! The two restaurants are good. The coffee bar opens until 10 PM and you can get treats there too! We will definitely be going back. read more

I love CVI; located in Minden, Nv off 395. If you're traveling in an RV, there's plenty of space here and spots along this stretch of Carson Valley. I've stayed here a few times. I've been lucky on their slots and enjoyed their dining. I'm not sure if that's telling of my age, but I no longer enjoy big crowds. I love how quiet this casino is even when fully booked and more so that no one knows me. Lol Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and do inquire about their specials. I'm due for another visit already. If you're looking for a safe, clean hotel to stay in while traveling through Carson area consider the Carson Valley Inn. Those traveling in/with an RV, there's an RV park that shares the parking lot. read more

I was booked here by AAA when my car broke down and ended up making it my home away from home for 3 days until it was fixed. I cannot thank the ladies at check-in and guest services enough for helping me to coordinate this frustrating situation when my resources were so limited. VERY IMPORTANT when you book through a third party make sure to take note it's cheaper if you stay in the RV section of the hotel but it means you are in a completely different building than the casino and pool and hot tub. You pay a little more to stay in the hotel attached to the casino. Basically they are the rooms above the casino you take an elevator to. The front desk has tried to trick us and say we booked through a third party and thus we get stuck in the RV building but AS long as you paid for the casino room then they can't make you stay in the other building. I stay here a lot and it's not a glamorous Las Vegas casino but it gets the job done when needing a place to stay overnight to head back out to Kirkwood without paying hundreds of dollars for a room. The drive to Kirkwood is less than an hour maybe 30-40 minutes. You can do slot machines if you like to gamble. There is a restaurant cafe and a coffee shop. I stayed there this past week. Monday and Tuesday Night. I have staryed here dozens of times and in the past were great. This was pisspore. So here it is, I was at the street vibrations motorcycle event at the J's Resort from Thursday to Monday That place is the bomb. Great food and beverage at the Hanna's and the prices are great. Rooms at phenomenal. At the Carson Valley Inn the rooms are good. I made plans with me nephew that lives in Gardnerville and we get to see each other maybe every other year. He lives in other states and happened to be visiting him mother. His dad passed in 2019. We planned on meeting at the CV steak house. Hours show they are open until 9:30 pm on Monday. We arrived at 8:45 and stood around for 5 minutes before anyone came to see us. We were told they closed the kitchen and that we could go to the coffee shop. We were looking to have the Filet and Lobster dinner with drinks. The coffee shop "Katies" does not have the same menu nor the same atmosphere.. The hostess said they close when they feel like it. We had planned on playing black jack as we did as a group of 4 in September last year. Well, fortune has it there is a Dominos right next to the motor lodge so we ordered a nice pizza and salad and had drinks in my suite. I did bring this up to the front desk with the hope management would do something. I left my room number an phone number but hear NOTHING from anyone. This could have been a one off but it was a real poor experience and so is the management here. Something must have changed. I was interested in extending one more night but the price they gave me was 3 times more than what guests paid in the Casino which is normally more. They were not full so the room went empty. Hope they get their act together. We Kept our gambling for Topez Lake Lodge and Casino and had a great time there. I would higher recommend checking out Topez Lake. read more

Julie Meza, Marketing Director, is still the bomb! There are some concert venues that are make it extremely difficult to get handicapped seating and I have steered away from those due to negative experiences, but Carson Valley Inn is not one of them. I found a 2022 summer concert tour that my son and I were interested in attending and sent an email to Julie. Julie replied that we she would reach out to me the following day (tickets would not go on sale until the following day). Within a couple of emails and a couple of missed phone calls, we were able to coordinate two tickets to the concert. It's so easy! I love the venue as it is an outside venue. Not too far from South Reno, but looking to maybe make it a weekend trip in the Minden/Gardnerville area to visit family and take in the new sights! Thank you Julie for making it so easy! read more

This place was a bit nicer than what I was expecting. The room was large, though a bit dated. However, it appears the bathrooms have had a semi-recent remodel. Everything was more modern than the rest of the room. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly. The slots were the loosest I've maybe ever played. Lots of enjoyment without just sucking down your money. They also make a great Bloody Mary (which even if you aren't playing are only $5.00). The restaurant was solid (can't recall the name. Katie's Kitchen or something). All of our meals were well prepared and substantial. I will definitely stay here in the future when visiting Minden/Garnerville. read more

This place is a pleasant surprise. Our room was very nice, large, clean and had a nice view. We enjoyed a decent lunch at the cafe (Not fabulous, but edible and fair-priced. I did order a cocktail I never received but they took it off the bill.) There is a nice pool and spa area, kid-friendly. The staff is helpful and friendly. A refreshing change from the Downtown Reno casino/hotels. We will definitely stay here again if we ever return to the area. read more

I love this place. They treat you like royalty here. Back in March I booked 2 nights. But after the first night, I doubled down and ended up staying 4 nights! It was mainly because of the staff. They actually seem to be enjoying their work. This time around, I booked a 2 night stay. I don't think I'll extend, cause I'm on the last leg of an 8 week cross country trip, and Riverside is calling my name. The Carson Valley casino is big for its size. Meaning, they make good use of their square footage. Tons of slots, table games, and they have a real sportsbook. Not like the sportsbook machine in the Prospector in Ely. The guy in the book, "Mike", is cool. I told him I wanted to bet on Argentina soccer, but I didn't see a line. He said, "give me a couple minutes and I'll get you one". Well, he did get me one, and won I did (bad grammar I know, but I couldn't resist). On both stays my room was super clean, and quiet. Icing on the cake for a truly exceptional experience. The food in the restaurant is really good too. I think they may be incorporating subliminal suggestion. Check out the photo and tell me if it doesn't make you hungry. If it sounds like I'm fawning over this place, you're right. I am. I love well run businesses. Here they don't just go through the motion, they are constantly moving forward. Tourist from Sudan! My dad and I were visiting my sister in LA for a couple of weeks, we decided to go to Lake Tahoe for the weekend. On our way, we got surprised by a sudden blizzard on Kingsbury Grade, ended up getting stuck in the snow and we had to call 911. Their response was fast and the sheriff called a tow truck for us which took us down. Anyways, we decided to spend the night here, before heading back to LA in the morning. The place is great!
