I've been a patient of Dr Anthony for almost 14 years. I first heard of him on the radio when we was doing a show on one of our local stations. He was talking about back health, and from what he said, I knew I had to go see him. I was greeted with the same care and concern as I get today. He knows his stuff so well, and I've always been able to get my body back to 'healthy' with the many different services he provides. This is the place to go if you really want to be healed and not just get a quick fix. I came to Dr. Anthony with major shoulder pain and soreness that I have had constantly for 2 years and that was interfering with my sleep, my work, my energy and my joy of life overall. I've been seeing Dr Anthony since I was about 16-17 years old. My body had had a battle with the EB virus and my immune system wasn't doing well at all. Also I had just been diagnosed with FM and had old injuries to my neck, back and head. Every day was a battle just to get out of bed. I was exhausted and in constant pain and wanted to manage without having to take tons of painkillers. With Dr Anthony working with me I was able to get back on my feet again. I've survived not one but two distinctly different cancers and what I call a fruit ( some watermelon size) basket of non cancerous tumors removed all under the tender age of 50. If you have a lot of experience ( like I have) with various medical, holistic practitioners and chiropractors he's different and at times I had to suspend my belief regarding the techniques used , but they worked for me. I often commented to the other clients while on the table, " It's like magic sometimes". I had head/neck/shoulder pains, foot pains, leg cramping, etc. I started with multiple visits in a week at first and then got to a regular cadence of every two weeks. Issues addressed with the use of his techniques, exams, testing and supplements. I will admit I DON'T always follow his recommended regiments to the letter ( I can't stand taking pills, so the supplement taking is a daily challenge). Bottom line my experience has been overall positive as I've learned a lot about my body, how it reacts and responds. I have health insurance and blessed with ability to pay out of pocket then get reimbursed partially ( a lot later). I'm of the mindset regarding health, either you pay now or pay later . If you have the ability afford Dr Anthony ( I agree with others his costs are reasonable) don't let the health insurance coverage be an obstacle. Also take a look at your past health care billings to see what your insurance is paying some of your other health providers . It can be appalling to see your co-pay and the insurance paying a Dr. $150 - $300 dollars for office visit with your provider where you waited 10 minutes and whole visit was 15 minutes. That's not happening with Dr Anthony. You may wait a little but he will earn his fee and takes no offense to your demand of it. Reading thru the other reviews the thing to realize is Dr. Anthony may not be for everyone. I get it regarding the insurance challenges , immediate results or progress or just not being to sure about the holistic techniques being utilized. With that said I have nothing but good things to say even though I have family and friends who are not to impressed or have hug doubts. Remember there was time less than 20 years ago when you mentioned going to see a chiropractor, Quackery is what I was use to hearing from peers who thought getting and epidural or back surgery was the answer. Going to a chiropractor people thought you were crazy . Maybe Dr Anthony isn't for you or you did not get the results you perceived you were entitled to. I have to agree a 1 - 3 visits is not a fair way to assess this type of business unless grievous harm was done. Consider, how often do we see a medical doctor who resolves our issues in 1 visit without the mention of surgery or some expensive piece of medical equipment didn't address the issue at all. Has a parting note we all need to take greater responsible on taking care of ourselves and stop relying on quick fixes or pills to solve your ills. A Medical Dr. knows medicine and generally how it applies to the human body, but not every body is the same. Where ever you go for your health care or health management , take stock of the medical professionals giving you advice and note if they look healthy before you heed it. read more

My family and I have been receiving care from Dr. Anthony for the past fifteen years. He has supported me in my journey to optimum health. I am older, like many of his clients, so I try to stay on top of my health so I can work. As I near retirement, I notice how difficult it is to keep fit and avoid injury. The body just doesn't work the same in your sixties. Because of this fact, I really appreciate the attention and care he puts into his practice. I know why people travel long distances to receive his care. I have nearly 30 years in the industrial injury medical/legal field. Chiropractic care has been givin a pretty bad wrap by this industry. Fortunately, I have been receiving chiropractic care and massage therapy for over 40 years, so I understand the value of the right care and the right time. On Labor Day 2019, I was working in the garden and injured my right shoulder. I was pulling a plant out of a pot, something I do routinely when gardening. This time was a little different, however. I did not feel a sharp pain right away. A few minutes it did feel uncomfortable, like I strained a tendon or pulled a muscle. After a few hours of doing the dishes and cleaning house, I rested, thinking I would shake it off. That is when I started to notice a rapid increase in stiffness and pain. That night, the pain was so extreme it woke me up in the middle of the night. The next day I notice my range of motion had significantly decreased and slight movements triggered stabbing pains in my shoulder area. Over the next few days, the pain & stiffness became persisted and I was not getting much sleep. Gravity was the enemy. By Friday, my arm was frozen. I could not lift it at all. Over the weekend, I marched into Kaiser urgent care for x-rays. I visited an orthopedist on Monday, who said I had calcium deposits on my shoulder tendon resulting in a frozen shoulder. He administered an injection to break up the calcium and gave me orders to start physical therapy in two weeks. That meant I would have to wait nearly a month for active treatment after the onset of the injury. I called Dr. Anthony's office that they got me in the next day, on Tuesday. He worked my shoulder over with his tools and tricks. I sat in the chair and received pulsed electro-magnetic field therapy, PEMF. Over the years, I twisted my ankle a few times, most recently in May, and had the PEMF. It was miraculous, resolving the pain and stiffness in days, so I was a believer. Over a period of about three weeks, with the most intensive treatment in the first week of seeing Dr. Anthony for my shoulder, I had most of my motion back and the pain was about 75% better. I would like to add that after two months, the pain was completely resolved and I have full range of motion. Had I followed the direction of the Kaiser Orthopedist, I would have suffered a lot longer, and I would have not had the same outcome I experienced under Dr. Anthony's care. For this, I thank him and his office for all of their love and attention over the past fifteen years. They truly care about their clients. After 4 visits, I am disappointed. Making appointments and the business processing my bank checks -- went smoothly. Finding relief, seeing my X-rays, getting the front office to process my insurance claims in a timely way (for reimbursement) went poorly. A month later, I am still hoping to see my X-rays, and still hoping that my insurance will receive the claims for a sizeable reimbursement. As for relief, I was referred to another chiropractor within my insurance network, he brought me relief on the first visit! Lesson learned: no more drawn out or pie in the sky treatment plans for profit. read more

I honestly don't know where I would be without Dr. Anthony! I first came to the office after attending one of their seminars. I was suffered with digestive problems that seemed to have no end, and I was told by 3 different physicians that I had to take these pills 3 times a day for the rest of my life, and that is all I could do to help myself. My back was also a wreck, I was always in pain, and at my first visit I could barely move my neck. The treatment that I received from Dr. Anthony has been by far the most effective treatment that I have ever received. By correcting the subluxations in my spine with regular adjustments, it has helped with the pain that I was having. He has also done sessions of NMT (Neuromodulation Therapy) which helped with resolving food allergies and emotional trauma, the only thing I can describe it as it rebooting your bodies computer. This was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had! He does many other therapies that are very helpful, I could go on and on. Dr. A does all of his diagnosis through muscle testing, so it is true read of what adjustments need to be done. I am always amazed at his ability to find exactly what is wrong, and fix it. Yes, they do encourage you to come a several times a week when you first start treatment, that is because you are retraining your body. It is not a one time thing and then you are done like some people may like to think that it should be. Chiropractic is never that way. They give you exercises and and therapies to do at home, and they stress that it will "reduce the frequency of visits" that you will have to make to the office. It does take action on your part, do the exercises!! They really want you to get better. They also offer visit "packages" where you can buy a certain amount of visits at once, it greatly reduces the cost. I have been free of chronic digestive issues for years now, and my spine is strong! I also do not have food allergies like I used to have. I feel like he is a real healer and his practice is truly holistic., and I am grateful he is there to share his gift of healing. I found Dr. Brian Anthony via two avenues, one was the radio advertisement for Pressure Point Therapy and the other a referral from a former teacher of mine who I highly respected. My initial problem was to heal the paralyzed left side of my face. I have seen improvements but it is a slow process. In the meantime other issues have evolved: right arm injury from canning, lower back pain, and variuos other ailments. Sometimes he is able to fix a problem immediately for me, and other times several visits have been necessary. His goal, which I share, is optimum health not just a quick fix. I saw the sales-oriented front desk trying to bully some poor immigrants into signing up for groups of "treatments"; as a patient behind the scenes Brian Anthony dangled his fingers over my spine briefly, and did NOT perform the "pressure point therapy" which is promised on the radio! He didn't tell me why, just sent me home because he could probably tell I was going to be a hard sell. It would appear that you DEFINITELY should not go there if you have disc problems. I was referred to Dr. Anthony via my mom who has been a patient for many years. I have been in a few accidents and have had resulting neck, shoulder, and low back pain because of them and knee pain from sport injuries. At my first visit, I felt instant relief from those nagging pains that had plagued me for the majority of my life. Some of my pains, of course, returned, but with continuous care some have completely resolved and the others take a much longer time to return after each visit. Dr. Anthony is the best chiropractor I have seen, and I saw a lot of them. The bottom line, in 5 months I went from a herniated disk that prevented me from even sitting up to being able to walk and carry my 3 year old! WOW! My story: I was living out of state when my health declined. I saw various doctors and specialists who were stumped but thing still got worse. Then, it went from bad to debilitating. I could barely walk, I could not sit up, I just laid in bed and cried. Pain killer didn't helped, not even the ones from the doctor. I could tell I was in sever pain in my back but I could pin point it. I was having non-epileptic seizures and had several ER trips by ambulance because they would not stop. My old chiropractor and physical therapist were terrified to touch me because they had set off my non-epileptic seizures multiple times. A month and a half into just laying in bed in pain and I finally had an MRI that showed the herniated disk. I had an injection that helped to relive some pain. Now that I knew what was wrong I needed to rest and recover. My family moved to California with my parents so I could rest. Before meeting Dr Brian and Rima Anthony, I had had a traumatic experience at a very popular chiropractor's office in SF. I was untrusting and guarded, however I followed the advice of a friend who is a Nurse Practitioner to go to their office in Santa Cruz. I have felt in alignement on all levels with them from day one. We went through my history and I felt safe to receive the gentle adjustments around the chronic pain that I have around my rib cage. We did some emotional release therapy also which has integrated well. I was offered a follow up appointment the same day. I felt very supported as I was still navigating unknown territories with this new "wrinkle". The following treatment was very beneficial to address the spasms and discomfort. We confirmed and tested that no discs were affected. I'm usually a skeptic when it comes to chiropractors but Dr. Anthony's methods, results, and manner completely won me over. He demonstrates in very understandable ways how my body is out of alignment and why I'm in pain. Instead of just cracking his way through my spine he shows shows me what he's doing and then gives me things I can do at home to keep from perpetuating pain and stiffness. Even when he advises me to come back again (somehow i expect to have my doc wave a wand re-train my posture in 20 seconds or less) he explains the necessity for a repeat visit in terms that make a lot of sense to me. The free $55 session is a lure. Though the Doctor appears to know his stuff, it also appears to the client, while surrounded by all the high-tech gadgetry, filling out lengthy forms and taking surveys which are then charged to him or her as multiple office visits, that this chiropractor must have an ominous loan to pay off on all those fancy gadgets. I was warned by a well-respected alternative healthcare provider that this particular chiropractor was over-priced. Slick operation for sure, pleasant surrounding nonetheless, even the Doctor is quite pleasant, but there is an unfortunate pressure campaign. The potential exists to spend literally hundreds of dollars on office visits wherein the client will receive no help for his or her immediate pain, but instead be subject to the Doctor and staff revving up "hoopla" engines for the "next visit" help they keep promising. Of special interest for the individual under physical duress from acute of chronic pain who is seeking relief, it would be highly advisable to bring a patient's advocate to your appointment(s) with Dr. Anthony. Pain and illness may make it difficult to stand your ground on therapeutic decisions. It is the first-hand experience of this reviewer that the Doctor is willing to use coercion, as legally defined, in order to exact his expensive agenda. Through psychological pressure and undue influence within the doctor/patient paradigm, it's not enough to simply say,"no" to a procedure, treatment or test that this Doctor insists he must have, even if the client has health contraindications to any of them. About 10 years ago i hurt my back while working at safeway (i was 16) and have suffered for the last 10 years with chronic, horrible back pain because of it. i too tried doctors, got x-rays, chiropractors, physical therapy, acupuncture, even considered getting hypnotized to see if that would work... and none of it had any lasting impact on me. i was in my car one day and listing to AM 1080 and i they had been talking to a chiropractor in Soquel named Dr. Brian Anthony who specialized in chronic conditions and did sports medicine and pressure point therapy, and then they mentioned lower back pain was also one of his strong points. They were giving away a free pressure point appointments and consult to the first couple of callers, so i quickly picked up my phone and called and made an appointment! I figured it couldn't hurt since i had already exhausted all my other options. I went to my appointment, told them about myself, they told me they could help, and i gave them a chance. Their office is very small and personal, and at my 2nd appointment Dr. Anthony spent well over an hour with me asking me in depth questions about my problem and about my whole life basically, stuff i didn't even think pertained to my back problem. Fast forward about 6 months and i can tell you happily that i have been pain free and feeling absolutely wonderful, for the first time in 10 years! Saying that Dr. Anthony is just a chiropractor does him a huge injustice, he is a holistic medical genius that truly cares about each of his patients, is never in a rush to get to the next person, and found the root cause of my problem that no one else had ever looked for, they were just trying to cover up the pain. I am Sooooooo glad that I trusted him and gave him a chance and didn't judge him on his title of "chiropractor". Dr. Anthony has been a life-saver for me - he knows more about treating the musculo-skeletal system than anyone I've ever seen!
