She was timely in the delivery of the photos for both our engagement and wedding, and provided "sneak-peeks" immediately afterwards so we had something to see. We were really looking for a photographer who was comfortable in the desert environment and it was an absolute bonus that Katie lives in that area. She was able to suggest a great location for engagement photos (windmills) and knew about factors that could affect the wedding day (climate, what time the sun would set behind the mountains, etc). A true gentleman from the communication to appointment setting, to being a guide for every step of the way, I was allowed to just "be ". A dealer in Beauty, his make up chair is full of good conversation, deep client consideration, and really bringing out the inner beauty with the perfect lipstick hue. I was amazed to see such a transformation, and he really explained why and how he did the things he did as a goodie bag of knowledge to take home with me. I had brought many accessories, but he also provided, from the look board to final fits- Matthew brings vision to life! He instructed me to bring a Bluetooth speaker so I can play my music and it really helped with my comfort in finding my flow when in front of his lens. He made sure that I stayed hydrated and did frequent check ins, also his studio is centrally located, but has all the privacy. We were shooting for hours and each look gave new excitement. When I first got on set I've requested a mirror, and he just looked at me and asked if I could trust him a bit first, and let me tell you I'm glad I did. As he was shooting, he was conscious of the lighting, the drapery, and didn't just click away, studied me as a subject and guided me on poses to consider. His instructions were clear and there was absolutely no guesswork. And after each session, he would let me take a peek at the viewfinder, and I can still recall the squeals of excitement As I was finding a hard time recognizing the super model in frame! But that is truly the magic of Matthew Mitchell, he is a wizard. There are many photographers in this world, but the gym and diamond quality that Matthew Mitchell is brings the meaning to a whole new level.
