Dr Brina Gruber's office staff is not capable of working with patients. When calling, they sound find but there is no follow through on your requests. I called 4 times asking to hear what the results were of my MRI. I was very kind and understanding on the first 3 calls I made to the office. The first call was 6 days after the MRI. I was told they didn't have the report from the facility yet. OK! The second call was 8 days after the MRI and I was told the report was in but the doctor had not had time to review it. The 3rd call was 12 days after the MRI at which time I was told again the doctor had not had time to review the report. The person said she would place the report on his desk. The 4th call was 14 days after the MRI. At this point, I was extremely unhappy as I have been in pain the whole time and just wanted to know what to do to relieve the pain. I think 14 days is an excessive amount of time for a patient's imaging results to sit on a Dr's desk without a response. It seems irresponsible for this practice to let me suffer longer than necessary when they could easily evaluate and post to my patient portal, email me, or call me so that I can move forward with my medical care. read more

He takes the time to listen you can almost see his thought process and he examines - he speaks truth about options and outcomes. Follow up is care is amazing and it ends when you body says so not the insurance guidelines. I took longer to heal than average and he made sure I received the right care. read more

Dr. Brian Gruber is wonderful very caring. Very skilled. He makes sure you know everything you need to know. He also encourages you to ask questions. He worked on my torn meniscus. His office is very nice and comfortable. The staff is great but the scheduler need help. Hard to get ahold of. I'm sure they will find more help for her. My friend has been going to him for a long time she thinks he is the best. She has gotten to the point she need a knee replacement and she trusts him totally. read more

Talks a big story but don't believe anything he says. I am writing this review 6 months after surgery. I should have read the signs from the beginning. It's always everyone's fault except his. He is very well trained at avoiding responsibility not only for his surgical work but his support staff as well. Not to get into with the entire story, but he left me with a painful shoulder and a numb and painful right hand. I tore my shoulder in 4 locations including the rotator cuff. Dr. Gruber saw me right away, scheduled surgery and fixed my shoulder. It has healed and is great! Life changing... I lift weights and my torn shoulder could have put an end to that. Now I'm back to lifting and my shoulder is stronger than ever. Dr. Gruber saw me many times during the healing process and always made me feel like I was his only patient. He took the time to really check out my shoulder and explain everything to me. Last Wednesday I had an appointment with Dr Gruber. I drove from Ahwatukee and gave my self 1 hour to make the trip. Two automobile accidents put me 5 minutes late to my appointment. When I arrived there were three people in the waiting room. I waited 30 minutes to be taken to an internal waiting cubical. I waited another 35.minutes and no one even peeked in to see if I was still alive. I decided to leave. When I passed through the general waiting room, there were more than 20 people waiting. All of them were looking pretty tired of waiting. Given the speed of Dr Gruber's rate of patient critique, I will bet that most of the people waiting, still are!!! Bring a sandwich and a good book if you plan to see this doctor. There are others, most of which are probably closer to home. read more

Dr. Gruber is an amazing physician and surgeon. He is super affable and highly skilled.

Firstly. Dr. Gruber is an absolutely awesome doctor. I rank him as one of the best I have ever encountered for numerous reasons his experience his knowledge his phenomenal bedside manner I had several issues over the years and he unlike other doctors tries to graduate the process of fixing the issues that I have and does not immediately go to surgery. Dr. Gruber' IS incredibly smart highly skilled and has a great personality. As you can see he also has an MBA and run some phenomenal business I am very impressed by this doctor. Dr Gruber doesn't get five stars because his front desk team is completely inconsiderate with regards to patient's time. As a business owner and holder of an MBA degree he needs to work on his scheduling team and front desk. I have been there at times and had to wait two hours to see him. I know he probably is not watching what time he comes in to see his clients but I'm writing this only in an effort to have him address this with his managers. when you are running so far behind to see patients courtesy calls are definitely warranted. On top of that the front desks attitude of "too bad" is a real turn off. I would highly encourage them to work on their scheduling and their client communication skills. GOLDEN RULE COMES TO MIND. this is not the first time that I have run into this issue I have run into this issue multiple times over the years. I have heard people say well that's just how it goes with doctors that is completely unacceptable. There have been several occasions where I have been late for picking up my kids due to excessive wait times and had to ask the front desk what was going on and get a curt response saying you can reschedule. No apology no consideration just a very curt response. Absolutely horrible. I would not be surprised to see a response from this business team telling me that I had to understand that he's a doctor. One time two times is acceptable but every time is unacceptable and implies that they are not managing their patient flow correctly. Also anything beyond 40 12:55 hour is incredibly inconsiderate. Also When I say completely inconsiderate I mean completely inconsiderate you could have a 10 AM appointment and not see the doctor until noon and the front desk will not tell you that he's running behind I'll give you any update. They will just keep you waiting in the waiting room without a car. A terrible way to run a business regardless of whether you are a doctor or not. I'm not expecting anybody to be exactly on time however two hours without any kind of consideration or contact is totally unacceptable. I finish up again the biggest thing is that he is a PHENOMENAL doctor. I'm writing this hopefully so that he speaks to his business manager who needs to improve the situation. He would without a doubt be five stars or more if that was possible because he is highly skilled and exceptional at what he does. My entire family has seen him my aunts uncles and one of my children who has a very serious shoulder issue from football. Doc your front office and business management team is letting you down. There's no reason why you shouldn't be 5+ stars but the treatment that your customers get is a reflection upon you I would definitely sort them out. read more

I'm 50 and needed a knee replacement. He suggested a partial knee replacement and it was the perfect choice for my situation. 3 years late and it's working great. I believe he is probably a great surgeon (I assume) but he recommend surgery for a fairly minor SLAP labrum tear. I opted to undergo physical therapy instead and was at 95 percent 2-3 months later. The physical therapists were surprised he recommended surgery. So, keep in mind some surgeons typically push for surgery regardless. But Mr. Gruber seems to have a good reputation nonetheless, and no one's perfect. read more

Terrible billing Dept My son went for a series of PT treatments, paid an anticipated insurance 'shortage'each time. I realize that first visits charge more for new patients files, etc. But subsequent visits, despite being (as far as my son could tell) the same basic treatment, had wildly different amounts billed to our insurance company. After the insurance company adjustment we still owed amounts above and beyond the basic $50 pre-payment for each visit. I PAID MOST ALL THE CHARGES. FOUR different times I called their billing department. FOUR times I got a message wherein I was told the hours the A/R person was in the office (most of which was when I called). FOUR times I asked for a call back to discuss the billing amounts. FOUR times I got no response. NOW the following bills have been turned over to a collection agcy: (1) Orig bill $479; owing and turned over to collection $35.71; (2) Orig $535; collection $70.59 ; (3)$35 no show charge, which I would have paid if I ever got a call. This is my second time visiting this office. While overall my experience last time with the doctor was good, I remember waiting 45-1 hour after my scheduled appointment. It appears that my experience will be similar as last time as I have already waited 45 minutes over my scheduled time and I am still waiting! My recommendations to the doctor and the staff is to notify the patients as they come in if their appointments are going to be this delayed. I have other places to be today and this is not acceptable. read more

Dr.Gruber is one of the most amazing Drs, I've not only worked with him in the hospital setting and seen him with patient after patient, but my family and I have been patients of his as well. His bedside manner and his genuine care and attention to detail are un mistakably one of the most comforting things about him. His office staff was super nice and every one took great care of us. I would, and do send any one I know needing an orthopedic specialist to him, and I'd never recommend any one else, even after working with multiple others. read more

Just called Dr. Gruber's office to schedule an appt. I read all the wonderful reviews and thought I'd give him a try........Well, I was stopped in my tracks when I called to make an appt. I was told by the front office help that she couldn't make an appt without obtaining my records and getting them to Dr. Gruber first. She told me that Dr. Gruber would read my records and if he wanted me as a patient they will call me to make an appt....What happened to taking your old records with you to your Drs. appt and then listening to the patient??? News flash.....This was a huge turn off. I'm a Nurse Practitioner from a practice from the Midwest and if my front office help would have ever of said this to a potential patient of mine they would be looking for another job......But, then on the other hand maybe that's how this practice works...There are a lot of other Doctors out there that would be glad to have my business. Reviews are words that seem glamorous until you check out the real deal...I'm pretty disappointed.
