Unresponsive Office Cost Me Money, Refused to Make It Right I hired Brian M. Douglas and Associates LLC for my December 2025 real estate closing. The experience has been the worst I've had with any professional service. The Problem: My mortgage company, myself, and others sent advance notice about an incoming wire requiring verification, with a strict deadline I needed to meet for employer relocation reimbursement. Multiple follow-ups were sent to the office. For 1.5 days (Dec 11-12), multiple financial professionals couldn't reach the office to verify the wire: Goldman Sachs (my bank) - repeatedly told staff weren't available LPL Financial (my wealth manager) - same response Mortgage company - multiple attempts Me - ignored then told office "closed early" I was later informed that staff were working during these attempts. The office had already verified a prior wire successfully, so this was a routine task the team had done before. The Cost: I missed my December 12th deadline and incurred significant relocation-related costs as a direct result. The irony? After my deadline passed, I wired a much larger amount for closing and the office verified it immediately. My Good Faith Efforts to Resolve: I tried multiple times to work with them professionally: Initially attempted to communicate directly with the office to resolve the matter without formal demands When that failed, sent a certified demand letter requesting reimbursement for the costs I incurred due to their negligence When the first letter was returned due to addressing error, I paid for overnight delivery with signature confirmation Gave them clear options: reimbursement or insurance information The office signed for the letter on January 8, 2026 The Response: ZERO. No call, no email, no acknowledgment whatsoever. Complete silence despite multiple opportunities to resolve this professionally. Action Taken: Due to their complete lack of response and professional accountability, I have filed a formal complaint with the State Bar of Georgia. Bottom Line: Unprofessional, unresponsive, and unwilling to take accountability for mistakes. Cost me real money and won't even respond when given multiple chances to make it right. Complete waste of time! I made an appointment to discuss estate planning and was assigned to Kathleen. The law office uses the Calendy scheduling software, so I received no less than 15 reminder notifications on every digital platform possible leading up to the call, which was about a month out. The day of the appointment, I received a voice message at 11:49am regarding the 12 noon appointment during which Kathleen left instructions for me to call back if I still needed services. 11 minutes early? That was off-putting but nonetheless, I call back immediately, which is now 11:51. I am told by the receptionist that she stepped away from the office. Yup, gone in 2 minutes. This is a very poor experience since I purposely made myself available for this call which should have occurred at 12noon, per the 15 different notifications I received since I signed up for the call. I've never had a professional call me in advance of the call and then make themselves unavailable for the actual call time. I waited almost a month for this call and could have found another law firm during this time. Don't offer services that you don't actually wish to perform. The estate attorney is very knowledgeable, but the communication was poor. Kristyne L. Seidenberg is the "trust expert", not Brian Douglas.    Her team uses jargon familiar to the legal profession, but it is not always clear to laymen.  Communication is poor.  Emailed questions were left unanswered. The process was not clear, a checklist would help gather the correct documents, and their portal is awful.  Some on the team use the British written language.  We are in America and doing business in America.  The usage of non-American date formats caused dates to be incorrect in the legal documents they created!  We asked multiple times to have the dates corrected when going through the document, they weren't correct even on the final document!!  Of course, this adds to their billing hours. We (the client) were expected to hold an entire day open for an appointment, even after multiple inquiries of "what time" on a specific day.  But when we said we had to reschedule it their response was "Oh, no!  We don't have other times available. So we will have to charge you additional fees."  "But you never gave us a time!"  Yet, when they didn't want to stay until the end of their day, they changed a scheduled appointment time with us with a few hours notice!   The introduction to the "estate/trust" attorney was great, the process, the work, and the detail was HORRIBLE and expensive!   Use your money for someone who cares about their work and their clients. read more

This was a worst service that my husband and I have ever had. We paid over $2000 over a year and a half ago for a trust to be done. The first person we talked to left the firm and then six month later we found out because another representative called us and told us that she had to do our application all over because the information was lost. Then just to get an appointment with an attorney we had to wait another three months. The appointment was scheduled in the beginning of November and we still had not received any paperwork. The said they sent the paperwork on November 7th to my husband and my email which waa after the appointment. When they called ua to cancel the appointment with the attorney on the same day that the appointment was can canceled. The representative said the the lady working on our case had left. Now two people working on our case left the firm and at that time we still didn't have any paperwork. Now in January 2024 I received an email statement that I had until February 9th to pay for the balance of the work. Up until today we have NEVER spoken to a LAWYER. I call Jasmine for three weeks and left messages and email and no one never call me back until February 14th after I requested that I get a refund and no longer wanted to deal with this company. Jasmine callled and said the money I paid was to retain the lawyer ($2,200) which we never meet. And they sent the paperwork and that was done was over $3,000 worth of work. If you need a lawyer for your trust or estate don't go there. Spend your money somewhere else. They said that they cannot refund me. read more

Would not recommend at all. Very unfortunate experience that resulted in long drawn out issues.

This was the easiest closing of my life. The office was easy to find and the process was very efficient. Even when we had a small issue with my previous lender the Douglass team was very quick to respond and get things taken care of. I would recommend them to anyone. read more
