I attended the celebration party last night (Saturday January 31) and I was so pleasantly surprised at how welcoming everyone was. Not only the owners, but the entire group (and I mean every last one) of the students/patrons were so kind, helpful, and supportive. After one visit I can appreciate the reason this dance studio is as successful as it is. It is so inspiring to see a small business succeed, not only as a result of the hard work and dedication of the owners but as a result of the inclusion, welcoming culture they've developed. She put in my card number wrong and had to call me back for me to say it again. Quite an ordeal before arriving. Lesson was ok but after the lesson we were pressured to buy a package. We were told that if we leave the studio that we wouldn't get the ten percent discount so we should buy it immediately. Thousands of dollars upfront is a big deal. So we asked if we could have some privacy and discuss it. This was my fiancé and myself as we were trying to practice a dance for our wedding. Then not even 60 seconds later Marjorie comes over and starts asking us questions and again we stated we just needed a little privacy in time to think about it. We decided not to move forward since we felt very pressured. The next day I receive a phone call again from Marjorie stating that the owner saw dancing and he wanted to give us a free lesson. I did not respond. The next day she texts me. And then I had to tell her to stop contacting me. I do not appreciate the high sales pressure. It seems like they're just all about the money.

Now, a year later I'm going into ballroom dancing competitions and, in fact winning the occasional trophy. Fred Astaire Naples took me from absolute rock bottom to being able to cut a fairly decent figure on the dancefloor. My daughter attends Powerhouse dance. The people that run the program really care about the kids,…read moreknow their stuff and put on a great Christmas program. However, they are lacking in keeping parents informed to what is going on at the dance studio. On days there is NO school, (weekday holidays) as such, there will sometimes be classes that evening and others, there will not be classes. IF there are no classes, they sometimes make it up on a Saturday and other times they dont. They NEVER post on their webpage what is going on and the owner almost NEVER fires out an email to all stakeholder to inform them about change in classes. IT is a catch as catch can everytime. Great place for kids to dance, but their communication with parents is woefully inadequette.
