Steve has been into photography for several years now, but just recently, he decided to make it a small business, mostly for fun, and well, to make some extra cash too. If you ask me, that's a brilliant idea. I mean, why not take advantage of your skills and talents, right? Steve did such an amazing job with my photos, they turned out lovely, and I was very satisfied. We did the photoshoot on Sunday, and just two days later, my pictures were up on his website and I'm still waiting for a CD with alllll 396 pictures that were taken that day, hahaha. Since it was my very first time doing this, I was such a noob, and was completely clueless about everything; didn't know how to pose or anything, I know, and I call myself a girl -__- But Steve was so nice and he walked me through the entire session, and helped me pose and whatnot, haha. And he was so incredibly patient, because I couldn't stop laughing, and he didn't get mad at me at all, haha. We did a casual shoot (with casual clothes) and a bikini shoot. He was very professional, and I felt very at ease. You must call to make an appointment. I believe he only shoots around Orange County area and Southbay Beaches. He does engagement sessions, wedding ceremonies, and just regular photoshoots. The prices are fairly decent/cheap. For couples, I believe it is $50 for a 1 hour session (give or take), and $30 for a one-on-one 1 hour session (give or take). He also does group session, but you will have to call and ask for the pricing. Along with the photoshoot session, you will also get a "basic package" which includes: weblink to unlimited processed photos (as selected by photographer), up to 10 photos for post processing/touch-up, and 2 prints upon request (4x6, 5x7, or 8x10). One of the best things about Zack was that he could blend into the background while shooting. We appreciated his ability to capture every important moment without inserting himself into it, allowing us to enjoy our day without having that constant reminder that we were being photographed. When we received the photos, we were blown away at how well they turned out. Zack captured every photo that we requested, in addition to setting up a few shots that turned out to be our favorite of the bunch. I can't even fully describe the amount of thankfulness I feel. For years I've worked with Michael on editorials and he and his entire team are all a complete dream. They are punctual, easy going, professional and have the best equipment to shoot all types of projects and events. Michael would have been my first choice of hire for our wedding but I didn't think he'd sign up for the job since I've known him in the workplace as a high-level and well-desired editorial and commercial lifestyle photographer. Thus, I hired someone else that I was OK with, but in the end, it wouldn't be the same as having Michael. A year had gone by since hiring the other wedding photographer and something called fate happened... The Tuesday before our wedding, half of the photo duo we hired emailed to say she wouldn't be joining and she had replaced herself with a photographer we would never have hired. As you can imagine, dropping this news on someone getting married in less than a week adds some major anxiety to the mix! Also, the replacement offered wasn't going to fit the style we were looking for and my husband and I were truly upset. So I called Michael and told him the story and little did I know, he also shoots weddings!!!! I immediately felt major regret that I hadn't followed my gut to see if he shot weddings from the get-go. Luckily, Michael ended up being free on our date and he stepped in as an additional hire for our big day. His team shot both photo and video and the moments they captured remain our favorite images from the day. The video brings us to tears every time we watch it, and helps us remember all of the things that went right versus the stressful moments that can stick out. Michael's assertive yet loving energy is exactly what we needed on our wedding day. Had he not been there, I think our experience would have been far different. He helped turn frustrating situations into truly positive ones. He made us feel excited to be in front of the camera and we felt comfortable knowing he was capturing all of our special moments. He is a rare breed because not only is he incredibly talented, but he engages you and your wedding guests in a way that captures the most memorable of moments. I've also been hearing the best stories about how awesome and fun he is from our guests... They all keep saying Michael is the sweetest, he's so incredible, Michael's just the best! Not only was he…read morefantastic to work with--totally easy-going & funny & super-nice--he also created amazing shots, which for me, ain't always so easy. Why? Well, it turns out (and I learned this only from Jeff, no other photographer ever took the time to investigate it & help me figure it out) that my face does not react well to the standard 100mm lens that headshot/portrait photographers usually use. Whereas other people look great with it, for whatever reason my face/features look terrible, totally flattened out & thick & not at all what I look like in real life or on film. So after trying the standard 100mm & me almost breaking into tears once again, we moved to the 85mm & it was instantly better. Then he used the 50mm, & boom--there I was, just as I knew myself to be. It was fantastic to discover the answer to this problem that has been plaguing me for so long, & I felt completely free during the shoot--something that had never happened before! Also, Jeff really knows light--he was constantly moving around, moving towards me & away, & moving me to different spots, always finding the best light to show me off in the best possible way. The result: the most awesome freakin' photos of myself I have ever seen. Jeff shoots both natural light under the bridge on Ivar in Hollywood, & has his own studio in the Burbank/Glendale area.
