My package included dress and jewelry rental, hair and makeup for the couple, the photoshoot, all raw digital images, 20 edited photos, and a printed canvas. The hair and makeup artist was able to follow my vague instructions and helped customized my overall look, including jewelry choices. She also stayed throughout the shoot for touch-ups, and even helped with posing. Sam's knows what angles to shoot and which lighting works. He guided us through the poses and was able to wrap up our shoot earlier than estimated even though I usually find myself very awkward in front of the camera. I also appreciated that they provide all of the digital files, including the 500+ raw ones. When I wasn't a fan of the initial editing style, Sam was very receptive to my feedback and revised the photos quickly. The reason for 4 stars is the communication. During the consultation, I was hoping for more guidance on ideas since I didn't have a clear vision. I was just shown his portfolio on his tablet and quietly scrolled in front of him. Sam is great! I found Sam initially via yelp when I was in search of a pre-wedding photographer. I stumbled upon his page and saw some nice reviews and decided to check out his website. I really liked his photos so I emailed about the packages he offered. I decided to go with a pre-wedding photoshoot package that included 2 locations and 2 wedding dresses to rent. After we set our date, I scheduled another time to go into the wedding dress rental store to pick out two dresses. On the day of, I got there early and they had a hair and make up artist for me. The HMUA also stayed with us during the photoshoot to do any needed touch ups. She even helped me change up my hairstyle when we switched to the 2nd location and dress. During the photoshoot, Sam was really good at directing us. We were initially really nervous about looking awkward and stiff but Sam had all the poses in his mind. Him and the HMUA reminded us to smile when we were getting tired of smiling and even gave us great tips on looking good in front of the camera. I am also glad that Sam was experimental and gave us different vibes and poses to try out. All in all, I would definitely recommend it. I chose to do a pre-wedding photoshoot knowing that I would not have enough time on my actual wedding day to dedicate so much time and care to making sure I get the best photos. So I spend $40 to take a ID photo and it got rejected because it's unqualified. And I asked for a original picture on phone call, and the photographer just being very impolite and impatient. And said it's impossible his photo is unqualified, and asked me for proof. And even try to let me hand my phone to the office staff who said the photo is not working. Taking an unqualified photo is just unprofessional. And I have to take a real ID photo again nearby. By the way this is how the office staff said after she saw the photo:"you can't photoshop your photo, or it could be rejected." Unique Photography was awesome! He has great rates, and takes beautiful photos! We did the prewedding shoot and wedding day package. For the prewedding shoot, we did the inclusive package for hair/makeup and also I was able to pick 2 dresses from his extensive collection at his studio. Even when I picked out and took a very pink fluffy long dress and took it to the beach (it was meant for more urban shoots), he didn't mind at all (that there was sand and ocean water in it!) and didn't charge me extra. For the wedding day, he and his assistant came early and we had plenty of time to do many variations of getting ready shots, first look, lots of bride and groom, and bridal party photos all before the ceremony. He was open to ideas and shot them all. He is very patient and willing to put in extra hours for the perfect photo. He takes the time to pose us.
