Brian is a very passionate guitar teacher. His style of teaching will have you playing songs in less than a week. He comes to my house once a week for an hour. In addition to playing he shows me how to set up my Amp. I took lessons about 10 years ago for about 2 years. I allowed work, my job, and procrastination in interfere. Eventually I stopped playing. We love Brian! He's been giving my 11 year old son lessons for the last 3 years. He didn't know how to play when he started and now he is quite proficient and absolutely loves playing!! We were looking for a guitar teacher for our teenage son who had just started learning on his own and wanted someone to work with that would teach him proper technique and work with him on the type music that he liked (he didn't want to just be given a song to learn as part of a larger class). A friend recommended Brian to us and he has been amazing! In the words of our son, he is a "descriptive" teacher rather than a "prescriptive" one that would push you into doing something you didn't want to do and would take the fun out of it. He is very patient, has a good sense of humor, and finds ways to relate to what you are doing. He remembers you and you can talk to him and play guitar together. He cares about your progress and you can ask him anything related to guitar playing, and the lessons are personalized and tailored to the style of music that you want to learn. In our son's case, he's been working on a variety of music from Metallica, Dire Straits, Jimi Hendrix, Megadeth... A whole range! He wants to work on Pink Floyd's "The Wall" after he gets the Sultans of Swing down, ha! It has been so great to see our son make progress in making music and enjoy playing guitar. We started private guitar lessons with Brian when our daughter was 7; she had no previous musical training or experience. He comes to our home and is always on time or early. Brian is SO good at working with new students. He is patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and so fun. Our daughter has learned multiple songs in the 9 months of lessons, and she feels confident playing in front of her friends and peers.
