The not so good: Numerous issues with maintenance, especially when the new property manager took over in the past year or so. Took a literal month to get my oven fixed. Instant pot meals it was, for a month. It was around Christmas time so I would've loved to been able to make cookies. There was an also a leak from upstairs that messed up my wall, and I'm not kidding when I say maintenance had to come to my apartment 6 times, and they couldn't match the paint. They ended up asking me if they could just paint that wall a different color and have an "accent wall". My partner ended up just going to Home Depot himself, brought a paint chip in and they matched the color perfectly there. Why a maintenance person wouldn't know to do that, I don't know. I'm pretty sure all of the apartments are painted the same greige color anyway. Also dealt with a noisy upstairs neighbor that had a drum set. Multiple complaints were made, and nothing was ever done. I was told it was being addressed, but the noise continued so I decided to give up since I knew my partner and I were moving out to buy our own home in a few months. Be warned your pet deposit is non-refundable so don't get your hopes up about getting that money back when you move out. It's ridiculous to pay both a pet deposit and then $35 a month in pet rent. I would definitely recommend that only applicants with emotional support animals to apply for this reason . Rent went up a significant amount every year. One year they added an additional utility to the lease. They also only allow long-term residents who have been there for years, either only be in 6 month leases if their apartment is not a renovated unit, each renewal raising the rent or having them move to a new, renovated apartment which is a lot easier said than done for 75 year old. I'm not a long-term tenant-- been there for 3 years, but when I was told this by neighbors I was saddened to hear about this. In my opinion, this is seemingly predatory. I would expect nothing less from a property management company such as Post Road Management, with hundreds of properties in their portfolio. Corporate greed is real. It's the norm now unfortunately. Low quality everything, they use one employee as their only crutch for a good experience. After a month or two, you will become frustrated with what they consider acceptable business practices, I do not recommend this place whatsoever. Also I have not had Wi-Fi for 4 days straight but will most likely still be paying full price for things I have no access to!!

MOLD ALERT I got flooded out of my first floor apartment by…read morea 5 inch rain event (large but not unheard of), as did the other two families on my floor, including children under 5. There was only one sump pump in the building, which was overwhelmed by the storm. There was also mold on my luggage and computer bag throughout my stay; they were sitting on the floor. They charged me $50 for the date I got flooded out when they gave me my security deposit back (I was flooded out on the 1st of a month). In addition to my experience in 2021, I understand that my apartment was flooded out in 2020 as well. Not a healthy place for you or your lungs.

My husband and I came here to Kutztown in 2015 to continue our education at Kutztown University. We…read morewere looking for a community that wasn't too far from the university but far enough away to not have to deal with the partying younger crowds as we are in our 40's. We were also looking for that country feel but with some modern technology. Kutztown Gardens has been a wonderful place to live in. It was great to be in a place that was just a half-hour in either direction to small cities but still have that close town feel here. It was also great to live in a college town as there is always something fun going on to keep yourself busy. We are moving to California at the end of December and we will miss this wonderful place and the friends we have made here but we are happy to have been able to experience it.
