It is very much a boys studio with comics and mexican wrestling masks on the walls and MF Doom playing gently in the background. The main tattoo artist Marcus is not the chattiest guy in the world but I'm completely in love with both tattoos he's done. The shop is refreshingly unpretentious and you'll find all sorts of locals rolling through here, with them also having a body piercing service. Though they may lack the heavyweight reputation, the quality this tucked away studio puts out is more than deserving. I wholeheartedly recommend.

I did a lot of research before deciding on this shop. A LOT…read more Mind, this was not my first tattoo. Not even my second. This was my fourth - it just happened to be my first tattoo done by someone other than my regular US guy, Guf. But I knew that if I was getting a tattoo on this trip, it was going to have to be done in London, for the meaning of it all. As I say, I did a lot of research. I corresponded with several shops via e-mail, since we weren't in the UK at the time. The tattoos that we wanted were fairly simple - a band logo, all black, and nothing special or crazy to be done with them. I even sent the shops jpeg copies of the image we wanted, just so they knew. We decided on Diamond Jacks for a few reasons, and planned our one Saturday in London around being at the shop right when they opened, and staying for as long as it'd take to do two small-ish tattoos. We showed up right at 11 am, but the shop was closed up tight. Undeterred, we did a couple quick laps around the neighborhood (kind of sketchy, if you're easily scared off), and the next time we stopped by, the door was open. Up the stairs we went to talk with the first person we came into contact with. We discussed everything we wanted, and he said he could have someone do it that day, but that he had an appointment already. They had us sit down to fill out some paperwork, and I handed over a high quality hard copy of the image in question. Not long afterwards, they came to get us. We were taken upstairs to have our tattoos done at the same-ish time - and I think they were brothers. We never got their names, which kind of annoys me (they didn't introduce themselves, and I didn't think to ask till it was too late), but they were quick and efficient. My version is on my forearm, and is quite small, compared to my husbands (which is on his calf). They went through the whole speech about care and placement and all that, and my guy seemed a bit shocked when I told him that this is my fourth tattoo. I think he may have thought I was fibbing, but I was more than willing to bust out two of the three, at least, to prove it to him. At any rate, he quickly placed the stencil and got me set up, and before I knew it, he was going to town with the needle. It was quick and painless - for both of us - and we were in and out before the hour was up. It was kind of pricey for two small-ish tattoos, but I can't begrudge them that. Overall I'm happy with my tattoo. It looks how I want it to look, and it's not nearly as in-your-face as I was afraid it'd be (all my other tattoos are bright and colorful and cheery, whereas this one is all black). I'm glad we went, and I'm glad we have this permanent reminder of our epic European vacation.

Beautiful interior, super cool vibe, and so clean. My friend and I were both super nervous about getting our first tattoos and the artists didn't pressure us in the slightest - they encouraged us to not rush it or decide on something if we weren't ready, which was so comforting and professional. Both gentlemen working there were so kind, knowledgeable, and just enjoyable to talk to. I ended up not getting one, but my friend did and his design turned out perfect and the process was so quick and easy. Wishing I lived in London because I would 1000% come back here to get my first.

Very long story in a short story: after 1.5 hours waiting for Michele (he was extremely late)…read morefinally he showed up COMPLETELY UNPREPARED. He hadn't even had the decency to check the email, so HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TATTOO I WANTED. Since it was already very late, he lied, saying that it was not possible to apply the print of my background's tattoo on my skin and that therefore HE WOULD HAVE DONE IT HANDMADE. I reminded him that the amount of red was excessive and that the main tattoo was the Japanese writing. After 3 hours and £ 280.00 ( I was meant to pay £ 250,00, but they asked for more money even if I waited for 2hours because he was late and he had to try to prepare my tattoo in 30 mins) I found on my leg something that was not even comparable to my idea. I contacted George, the store owner, and he told me that it's normal that my tattoo was different because they are artists and they want to do something unique (OF COURSE I HAVE EMAILS TO PROVE EVERYTHING, EVERY SINGLE WORD). When I told him it was my 4th tattoo he changed his mind and decided to meet me to find a solution. After our meeting he promised me to talk with the others tattoo artists to try to fix my tattoo. After 13 days I decided to send him an email (he din't contact me at all) and George replied: "Hi Mike I just had the chance to talk with my guys"- what a coincidence!!! And guess what: NO ONE was good too much to sort the problem out. So Geroge's offer was to GIVE A CHANCE TO Michele (the one who made my tattoo). Guys would you ever let someone who did something wrong, put his hands once again on your skin? And then...a CHANCE??? GEORGE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT MY SKIN. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!! I WANT PROFESSIONALISM, NOT CHANCES!!! During our meeting I said to George I wouldn't let Michele touch my skin once again and he promised me that for sure one of the other guys would be happy to help me. For two months George promised many things and at the end...nothing!!! Suck a shame cause I got my 1st tattoo in his store (AMAZING JOB MADE BY LUKE) To sum it up: Delay of 2 hours Michele didn't have any clue about my tattoo Paid £ 280,00 instead of £ 250,00 George (store owner) promised me to sort the problem out....how? People working there are friendly and clearly experienced and knowledgeable. There are several tattoo artists and you can check some of their artworks in the little books on the counter when you enter. They all have different styles and will be happy to advise you to see another tattoo artist if they think another one in the parlour would be better at what you want. I had several tattoo there by several artists and I am really happy about them. Every time, I had a consultation before the actual tattoo date, where the artist and I discussed what I wanted, where I wanted it, etc and the artists made suggestions but not forcing anything. The delivery has been exemplary every time and they also gave me very good advice for after care. If you want a tattoo, go there!! They can be a bit pricey but you will be wearing this piece of art all your life, so it's definitively worth it!
