This place is the pits. Water is shut off every other day. Rent went up last year stating due to us getting new windows.... I'm still waiting on mine. The smell of must and mold is everywhere and they just say they don't smell anything off. HVAC never works right and even in a townhouse you can hear your neighbors through the walls and even walking around in their house upstairs. read more

A bullet list, truncated grammar, and the accompanying pics and videos will have to suffice. (I'm about to list a whole lot of negatives, so if you're wondering why I previously gave this place four stars, it's because of one occasion where management told me that they would only send someone to check a leak if I took down my previous negative review and replaced it with a positive one. That's the type of underhanded stuff that this new management does.) The only thing they could offer was a big fan to blow on the carpet. It's supposed to rain for like ten hours straight tonight, and we are to call back if things "get worse". Spoke with a Sara/Sarah in the office, she kept speaking over me (in a very condescending tone) and using strawman arguments. Please see attached pics. [Update 12/11/23: Still waiting.] Nov 2023 - Contractors are brought in to remove/trim trees. On multiple occasions, large work vehicles are parked directly behind multiple cars, blocking them in. Office doesn't care. Dec 2023 - We learn that the leasing office will be removing their drop-box, as they want to go "100% digital". However, they will still accept payment in the office during business hours. So, basically, they're just making it harder for some people to pay their rent for sh*ts and giggles. 12/07/23 - Our building has two elevators. One has been completely down since 10/06/23 (though the sign says 10/16), and the other does not work correctly, it literally skips floors. We called yet again to see when it would be fixed, Admin Asst (Michelle Sotomayor) tells us that she "just put the work order in yesterday", and that it will be done today or tomorrow. [Update 12/11/23: Those were lies.] 12/11/23 - Contractors are brought in to replace wiring. They cannot complete the work in one day (understandable), but leave a huge mess of dust, plaster, screws, bits of wiring, and other things that our cat could have eaten or inhaled. I ask management if they can contact the contractors to come clean up, the person on the phone gives me an attitude and doesn't call me back. See attached pics. Ongoing/General - Emails and signage often contain multiple spelling and grammatical mistakes. Not usually a big deal, but it does make them look very unprofessional, and there have been a few times where it results in incorrect info, such as a date. Completely unhelpful to their residents amidst the financial burden during the coronavirus pandemic. They charged all of my friends and me bills upon move out that exceeded the security deposit. If you have a pet, they will use that pet as an excuse to charge you extra. I was charged almost $1,000 to replace the entire carpet. I have attached a picture of what my bathtub looked like when I moved into a townhome. The entire exterior of the house was rotted soft wood with mold, and the yard flooded every time it rained. Finally, during the winter, all of the heat escapes through the windows and doors and even using space heaters and plastic coverings over my window to create some insulation myself, my bill was $200-$300 a month! This may seem like a cheap option to live as a medical student or resident with large amounts of student debt, but they will make up for that upon move out. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE!! read this review!! i wish i could leave zero stars! everything is so old and dirty and broken!! the maintenance/management team communication sucks. nothing is ever repaired or replaced, for the rent you pay they will never address your issues. we had mold all along our carpet where it meets the wall which we showed them upon our first walk through and they made US pay for a professional carpet cleaning. they would not install new carpet just trying to flip over the units as fast as possible. we even had to put a mold censor in our living room. our bedroom shower would drip through the living room ceiling, also never fixed just painted over. in addition to that, in my townhouse alone we had huge nests of spiders that kept coming back... and i mean BIG spiders. the BIGGEST centipedes i have ever seen, multiple times a day... we had several mice at a time, ants in the kitchen and squirrels running around in the attic all night long. one last thing worthy of mentioning is my car was broken into right out front of where we lived and when i called the police they said "another one in briarcrest". horrible place to live, horrible conditions. i know they will respond to this review with the same bullshit they would say when i called the office with any issue in an attempt to save face, which is a big joke. save yourself now! i promise you! btw this review is blocked on google, not sure how they did that read more

Would give a 0 but that's not allowed. WORST MANAGEMENT EVER. You will come into the apartment promised that it will be cleaned and carpet professionally cleaned prior to move in. The carpet was full of cat hair and the whole apartment smelled like cats. The railing on the balcony is rotted and soft from rain, making it extremely unsafe. No new coat of paint on the walls as you can see EVERY PLACE where they tried to patch up holes and cover previous blemishes. The fridge leaked all over the floor and the dryer took about 4 cycles to fully dry the clothes prior to move in. Electric receptacles were missing covers. Insulation in the apartment is horrible and you can feel the cool air in the winter from the windows, making the cost of electric ridiculous for an apartment. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY TO GO SOMEWHERE A BIT NICER WITH COMPETENT MANAGEMENT. ALSO: The apartments do not look like the nice model that they show online. Outdated everything. read more

Great experience so far. Here's why: 1) extremely quiet. 2) clean 3) reasonable rent for value. 4) close to medical center. 5) I have experienced 100% same day repairs on service calls. This place is a dump that keeps getting worse year after year. If I could give it negative stars I would. The owner does NOT care about anything but taking tenants money. There is frankly no upkeep of the buildings, grounds, facilities or infrastructure. Original hvac units that are constantly being limped along causing fires, when there not causing tenants $400+ electric bills. Building are falling apart with patios on the verge of collapse, roofs leaking, plumbing leaking or just plain failing, animals in the walls. If you like noise and earth quaking horns and sirens move to this fresh hell. Not a good value for the ever increasing price. County tax applies to renters yearly. Rent is jacked up every 1-2 years around the holiday. Yet nothing is improved for the price. There's nothing that makes this place livable. They finally patched up some holes and changed some light bulbs after years of complaints but that is it. They left the ugly stained floral "The Shining" carpet cleaned by the laziest woman with a perm just to hire a Dominican team that's just as lazy. There are parking fees and pet fees and rent payment fees. You have drive everywhere and public transportation isn't reliable. If by the grace of god work let's you get home at a reasonable time during any holiday a hoe train of 12 fire trucks drive through the parking lot with all the lights and sirens to celebrate your migraine. I recently submitted an application and put a $235 payment down on a townhouse. I thought it was a sure thing and even got excited about moving there in a weeks time. That's when they tell me and my prospective roommate that we didn't qualify on the credit score. The best part is that the email ends with "Please feel free to contact "myroommatesname" with any questions! Why would you need to tell me that I can feel free to contact my roommate!Its just unbelievably weird. Then the very same person at the leasing office sends me an email the VERY NEXT DAY to offer me one bedroom apartments and asks me if I would like to still move into Briarcrest alone or with a different roommate......... If I didn't qualify on the credit score how can they offer me one bedrooms? I would completely stay away from this place. Seems like a big scam to me and the management don't have any idea what they're doing. read more

We rent a townhouse and I can't deny that they are bland. However, Hershey has a deplorable selection of quality, reasonably priced housing, so in comparison to the cat-pee-smelling, 40-year-old-carpet apartments that are available in the area, Briarcrest is very nice. They put in new carpet before we moved in and everything was clean. Even though some of the appliances are old, they work surprisingly well. We only pay electric, compared to the water, sewer, trash, gas, and electric that we were responsible for paying at our previous apartment. We can pay our rent online which is a bonus for busy people. We haven't needed to contact management/repairmen for any reason, so I can't comment on their performance. We've seen only a few bugs (a spider and one or two of these "house caterpillars"), which is typical for any place beneath trees. I was most concerned about the noise level between units, but the only noise I hear from the neighbors sharing a wall is the occasional kitchen cabinet door closing. The neighborhood itself is extremely quiet. We have easy access to walking and biking and the hospital. It wouldn't be my first choice if I was planning to live in the area for a long time, but it is a very nice place to live if you're only in the area for a few years for school, etc. read more

This is the worst place in Hershey. Apartments are dirty, people are loud, and management is beyond incompetent. They make up for this by nickel and diming you when you try to move out. If you work at the medical center, just stay away. We had cars get broken into, disturbances at night, and management doesn't care. This place is a disaster and I have photos to prove it. Wow I am so Sorry that I rented at briarcrest. There is mold due to improper ventilation of the dryer inside my apartment. None of the fixtures are modern and the carpets is low grade. I pay 980 a month and the plaster is peeling off the ceilings. The trim in the closet peels off weekly. I tried to space out my last months rent to make my move smooth my rent was due May 1. I paid 225 and said I would pay the rest duriong the month the management team filed in the court on day 10 and I had not been late before. These people offer little want much try the Madison at Hershey they may be expensive too but the construction and esthetic surroundings complete with up graded functional dishwahers make up for it. This is seriously by far the WORST place I've ever lived. Their website says that there's ceiling fans and garbage disposals and a bunch of other nice things. Well no there is not. They took all that stuff "out" for some odd reason. We live in the imperial townhouse. We are being charged an extra $25 just to have a fenced in "courtyard" and we weren't even told about that charge until we wet to sign the lease. Also, none of the bedrooms have lights !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No lights what do ever in the room. The lights are in the closets. The bugs, ridiculous. Between those little pincher bugs and centipedes. Disgusting!!!!! I've called maintence and nothing to be done. The washer and dryer are in your house, for us, in our kitchen. The dryer tubing is IN the house. It doesn't empty out side. It makes your house sooooo hot and unbareable. Also, the kitchen has like NO cabinet space and there is ONE and I mean only ONE drawer for silverware. The dish washers (always a plus to have!) SUCK. No matter what kind of detergent you use for it you might as well hand wash. Needless to say we have lived here for only a month so far and are moving out within the next Month or two. It sucks here. The nice thing though, I will give them props for, it is a quiet area. Which is great if you have kids. There places are too expensive for the poor quality of the homes. And they say that law care is taken care of. Well of you have a "court yard" you are responsible for keeping the weeds cut down. They will not do it for you. This place is a serious joke. They charge you too too too much money for these places. Please, don't rent a place here .... You will regret your decision. read more
