The most disgusting place I've ever stayed! The room had two mouse traps in corners so I should have left immediately. Obviously I had already paid for the room. I chose the motel because it was available near the Hershey Stadium where I was seeing a concert. It was $250 for the room for one night before tax. It was so small that my husband banged his shin twice into the bed frame, which was much bigger than the awful, lumpy, creaky mattress. We could not pass each other in the room because it was so small. There were no amenities. There was nowhere to put things out, and I certainly wasn't going to open the drawers when there were mouse traps in the room. The toilet took at least two flushes to work. The air conditioner made a huge racket. There was a coffee pot in the office (a first floor area that smelled like chlorine) but I would never get coffee there in the morning knowing there were rodents. read more

Terrible experience mold in room would never return . Staff was friendly however room was terrible. Found mold in multiple spots dead bugs on window sill in bathroom and just an unclean and uneasy feeling. But we still tried to make the best of it as it was only a one night stay. When laying down to sleep we found the mattress to be rock solid honestly not sure if it was truthfully a mattress. We slept so terrible we considered getting out of bed and sleeping in my truck just from being uncomfortable. Made reservations and drove 4hrs. When we arrived the owner denied us a room because we had a "service dog" and they strictly don't allow pets. He needs to go get some lessons on what a service dog is and have the ADA come down on him. My dog is a registered service dog and proof was provided to him. Service Animals The ADA explains what businesses and state/local governments must do to make sure that they do not discriminate against a member of the public with a disability who uses a service animal. Generally, businesses and non-profits that are open to the public as well as state/local governments must allow service animals to go most places where the public can go. This is true even if they have a "no pets" policy. Go back to school Mr. Simmons and stop discriminating against persons with disabilities. read more

Prices are skyrocketing for hotels!!! Scoured the web for decent prices in October for Hershey, omg. After reading many reviews of many hotels, I decided to stay here. In today's economic times, I need to check and triple check that I'm putting my money where it benefits my needs best. Listen, this isn't luxury but we're not a fussy bunch. We stayed in one of the apartments (its an older house refurbished into a few apartments three floors. Ours was a 2 bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom. Yes it is dated, yes it could use some cosmetic work but it was all good. It reminded me of my friend's apartment in Fort Washington, NY (sans the water spots & staples on the drop ceiling). So it was a familiar kinda set up for us. Felt like visiting her old place. Nothing fancy, well worn, quaint & cozy. POSITIVES: Location! We can walk to downtown Hershey & peruse the shops, enjoy a few Duck Donuts, etc. Without traffic, less than 3 minute drive to Hershey Park (with traffic 10!) I was happy I could cook what & when I wanted to (we weren't pigeon holed into a set time frame to eat run of the mill hotel chain continental breakfasts) or have to spend an arm and leg at restaurants in the tourist town. The bathroom had great water pressure and HOT water. So great after a long day at Hershey Park. Clean linens & towels. We utilized their firepit (gotta buy your own wood) in the back. A lovely way way yfinish our nights relaxing, roast marshmallows and star gaze. The motel is right on the busy main street of town, but it was quiet at night and the hotel patrons were not noisy after dark. Trains would pass every now and again in the back of the complex. NEGATIVE: limited parking, beds are a bit hard (imo), my kitchen electric stove's knobs were unreadable. We had a hard time finding the right temperature. It basically always ran HOT so we had keep an eye on the stove and cook with the heat on intermittently so our food wouldn't burn. Oven took forever to bake biscuits!!! (Would really benefit if they updated the stove entirely) TV reception was VERY grainy but we brought our chromecast. Linens and towels are a bit rough (remember it's a motel) but hey are adequate. Toilet didn't always flush when you flushed, had to hold down the handle & make sure all went down. ABIT OF ADVISE: If your staying at an apartment here with kitchen... BRING YOUR OWN COOKING POTS PAN UTENSILS. I called ahead & they stated it's minimal cooking items & a hodge podge of dining items. I brought my own pot & saucepan, cooking utensils, knife, a French press for coffee & cups, cutting board, paper towels, sponge, dish soap, can opener, food containers & tinfoil, disinfetant. Thank God I did. I also brought a nice candle & room spray to make it more home-like cozier feel. That made a difference. With proper packing of provisions ... all in all it was clean, private, affordable and location was good for what I paid for. Something off the beaten path and outside the cookie cutter chainshotels. First started in the 50's and some of the furniture is original. But the mattresses are decent, the shower was hard water pressure great showerhead, walls are thin, lots of stairs--Very, very CLEAN!!! Great price. Friendly staff. If you're like me "Motel" might be a word that often gives you a mental image of a trashy/cheap roadside dive that's got questionable dingy old rooms and is anything BUT "high quality"; Well; this place is 100% the opposite. It's my favorite place of the last 100 hotels I've stayed in. I can't say enough GREAT things *despite* having a disturbance/issue with another guest after midnight. (More about how the hotel handled that below). The place is well lit and easy to find just minutes from Hershey Park: You pull into the parking lot- plenty of easy parking right by your room, even with no vaccancies. Zero wait to check in... When you arrive (we got here at 10pm)- you find your registration form and key in an envelope on the unattended office desk.... It's so quaint! (you don't even have to talk to anyone)- just grab your key & go! It took us just two minutes to find our room & walk there- back outside, down a walkway, through a door & around a corner. Easy peasy. The building is a gorgeous, unique, quaint property with *tons* of charm. From the cute Hershey's kiss shaped Room #'s on each door, the floral office, well-lit hallways, clean parking lot, cute little courtyards, a pond w/ cute decor - the entire place (with it's cool multiple twists & turns w/ various nooks & crannies.) reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. It feels VERY safe & quiet..Not a single lightbulb burnt out nor a shred of trash anywhere! It's obvious that the owners take pride in the place! Part of the motel is the classic "drive up to your door" style. Old school room-keys (no electronic key cards here!)- There's a variety of suites/apartments/rooms both upstairs & down- a few twists & turns, a few stairs, around a corner & through a doorway and we find the well marked hallway w/ 2-3 rooms grouped together... and we find our room; SO cool & unique. They thought of EVERYTHING; Safe cigarette disposal outside, along w/ chairs & tables (w/ ashtrays) obviously keeps people from smoking in their rooms (so smart!). Our room (#3!) was odorless & spotless. I flat out couldn't believe the booking was for real & my expectations were honestly LOW. For just $37(!!!) - We got an awesome & spotless room - *so unbelievably cheap* - on Labor Day weekend. How is that even possible?! The Room; Best part; the A/C was already on to welcome us - no waiting for it to get comfy! A spacious single-room with a comfy queen bed, a chair w/ foot-stool (that made a perfect "fold out" bed for our young son). There was extra pillows and an extra blanket right the room. It has beautiful decor (pretty curtains, real wood furniture, tasteful art & wall decor, table lamps & a really pretty chandelier above the bed! BRIGHT lighting throughout (love that!)- there's a sm microwave and fridge (it was actually sitting open when we got in- not sure if it actually works... Maybe you are supposed to plug it in if you need to use it). There's a clean & spacious bathroom w/ a tiled walk-in stall shower- No waiting for the place to get comfy and cool! They even have a little table in the hallway between the four rooms w/ extra toilet paper- clearly they have thought of anything you could need. The tv has tons of channels that come in clearly... Very nice people at the front desk, rooms are spacious and have a tiny fridge and microwave.. no kettle or coffee pot. The 2 chairs were a nice addition. There were also chairs outside the door which was nice. Decor very old,. Beds and pillows hard as a rock. Couldn't stay in the shower more than 5 minutes as the water kept going cold with low pressure. Electrical outlets are scarce and need updating. The caretaker of the pool was rude and obnoxious. If my kids sat in one of the lounge chairs he was right there a sec later upset because they accidentally bumped it a tiny bit. And putting it back in place I finally decided to ask him if it was indeed the hotel pool we were in... I couldn't believe someone from the hotel would act in such an unprofessional manner. If the hotel does not wish for kids to stay there then in my opinion they should make it clear in their advertising, no kids allowed in the pool. I don't expect much from a motel, but this pig had some lipstick, so was excited to stay there. First off, the blonde haired check-in woman was awesome. Very nice. It was hard to be frustrated with her when my request for the wifi password was met with, "That costs $2.95." I KID YOU NOT ... $80 a night in this 1 star motel isn't enough to cover wifi. Getting nickel and dime was not a great intro. But ... Room is big enough. Small TV with slightly fuzzy picture wasn't an issue. Busy street with loud foot traffic and ambulance drive bys weren't much of an issue after a while. Bed was definitely hard, but the pillows were rectangular. They seemed about 7 uses away from being more useful getting wedged under a cockeyed cafe table they were so thin. THIN WALLS and creaky floors. What really started to get on the nerves was someone upstairs pacing the floor and slamming things down. This went on from 8 to ??. I finally fell asleep close to midnight (started at 10:30). I woke up to more pacing/slamming at 0500. When I mentioned this to the AM clerk (red hair and also nice), so said, "I told you to call me if they were still being loud after 11." I told her that we'd never spoken. She then recalled that it was a different guest from a different night. She expressed concern because my son and I looked tired and didn't enjoy our stay. "What else was wrong?" I told her about the Luke warm shower I got and the cold shower my son got. "Oh ... we'll yeah ... if you try to shower between 6 - 8:30 am, you won't get a good shower." She said something about all the people who live here waking up to get to work. They did provide an individually wrapped bar or soap. It was pulverized into u pieces ... either so stale it was decomposing or trampled under a car. No soap. We got two junior high 20 inch by 36 inch white towels with black stripes. I'm guessing no younger than 6 years old. Hard and crusty ... a delicate balance between exfoliation and excoriation. When we checked in, we found there to be trash in the waste bin from the previous guest which made me specifically not check the beds for cleanliness. I was willing to gamble. To be fair, the bathroom waste basket was empty. The woman on day two asked if I'd share my concerns with the owner because the he could fix things. Do you really think a guy with a known water issue who charge 3 bucks for a wifi password is going to care about anything we have to say? I declined the offer. If you can afford 20. My family enjoyed our stay. This is an old hotel which is family owned and not a chain. Were there some concerns? Yes. But it's an old hotel. I think the dated decor and style fit right in to the area. The were some maintenance areas that should be addressed, by it wasn't enough to stress about. The staff was great! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. You can tell that they cared for the place and didn't just work there. The owner made sure he greeted us and waded pleasent. This place makes the HoJo seem like the Ritz. Checking in: As soon as we walk into the office to check in, the smell of stale cigarette smoke and B.O. hit our noses. When we approached the front desk nobody was in sight. We waited, we said "helloooo?", and then we noticed the sign that said "Need help? Dial 0" with a phone right next to it. So we dialed 0 with no answer. We waited a few more minutes, looked around, nobody in sight. Then we dialed 0 again and a girl answered in a monotone voice: "Hello?" Us: "Um, hi is this the Simmons motel? Ah, we're downstairs" girl: "Ok, I will be right down". So we are waiting for about 5-10 minutes until this sullen girl (probably early 20's) walks in with sweat pants, sweat shirt and messy hair pulled back into a ponytail and said in the most unenthusiastic voice: "Hey". So she checks us in barely saying a word and takes us through the smoke and BO filled halls down to our room. The Room: Your Grand mother's bed room complete with doilies, old dusty cob webbed curtains, out-of-date pictures and just a very run-down, old, and extremely small room. The bathroom had one bar of soap for your hands. There was no soap provided to wash, no shampoo-nothing! The shower was in the tiniest little space where you had to squeeze to get in. I had to squeeze in and I'm only 120lbs. The lock to the room was unsafe, the heating situation was terrible (either a sauna or a freezer take your pick), the bed was hard, and there was a strange clicking noise coming from the vent that clicked all night long. Probably a ghost trying to tell us that this place sucks! So I would skip this place and pony up the extra 30 bucks for the holiday Inn express across the street. read more

This place is like staying in my grandparents partially finished basement. The room they put us in was in the basement of the house next door to the motel. It had old warped paneling and doors going upstairs to the other rooms. It was put together pretty Half hazard Like. We would have left but there was no place to go at 9 pm after driving five hrs. Whenever the upstairs people flushed we woke up because the sewer pipe was behind the paneling by our heads. The pool in the pictures online is actually a little above ground pool in the neighbors back yard. The bd was hard and the pillows were tiny. DO NOT STAY HERE. THEY CHARGED US FOR A ROOM WE NEITHER RESERVED NOR STAYED IN. Then when we politely asked to have a refund "Olivia" at the front desk told us no. We said fine, we will file a dispute with our bank and she replied "good luck. I'll send them our cancellation policy. You're not getting this money back". SERIOUSLY? We didn't reserve another room to even cancel! Not to mention the room itself is small, uncomfortable beds and pillows. Also it was FULL of flies. Then when we are getting ready for the morning the electricity went out for well over an hour. First off, this a very unique place! For some it might be good, some bad. Yes, it is dated. However, it is so dated, that I found it quaint! Like the original bathroom tile work circa 1950's. I met the owner, she is in her 90's. She is such a sweetie. Her son runs it for her now and I think several sons and cousins also have a hand in running it. Very friendly, welcoming place. We stayed for almost a week, renting 3 different rooms. One room was an apartment type in one building. Where we could fix simple meals and French press (that we brought). I was told the bed was hard in that room. The apartment was all white and sparse but clean. My room, which was in the main building was interestingly decorated, some of the furniture was a hodge podge but it seemed to serve its function. Some said it was dirty but I found it clean. The carpet looked brand new. When I went to open the windows, there was no dust on the curtains or windows. I looked at the a/c, the filter was clean but the inner parts looked a bit old and dusty. I cranked it on for 30 seconds and it did not smell clean so I shut it off and opted for the open windows. We had a dorm fridge and microwave that worked fine. I found the bed to be fine for comfort. I did notice several hairs on the sheets and was grossed out but I figured they were from housekeeping. I did see her on my stay and she was wearing a net. They gave us clean towels, soap, emptied the trash, and made our beds daily! Our flatscreen was small but we were visiting to see Hershey and hang out with family. Which brings me to the courtyard. It looks as if they have bought several houses on the street which allows them to have a grassy section and a parking section. Since we were there for a week. Our family of 13 sat out at the tables and ate, drank and talked up a storm. It is a very family friendly place! Our kids in the group loved running around this grassy area! The owner's son even chatted with us one night and invited us to use the on premises grill! We had a blast and yes, convenient to Hershey and many stores. read more

Honestly, If I could give 0 stars I would. Long story short - The staff/managers knew about sewage backup that caused certain rooms to smell like a cesspool, and rent the rooms out anyway. This motel isn't just dated, it is poorly maintained and they clearly do not care. Full story - When I checked in, there was no one at the front desk - just an envelope with the room key. When I found my room, the first thing I noticed a very strong air freshener type smell in the hallway. The floor of my actual room felt damp, which was extremely unsetting. There was also a terrible smell that I noticed right away - it smelled like a used cat's litter box. I went back down to the main office, but there was still no one there. At that point, it was too late to find a new motel after traveling for 5 hours, so I decided I'd tough it out and stay the night. I was supposed to stay 2 nights, but the smell made me feel sick. At 8 am I assumed there must be -someone- at the front office. I finally found someone, and told them that I had to check out a day early because of the smell in the room. She went to find a manager, who instead of actually -listening- to the problem kept saying, "you should have told us sooner," (when there was no one in the office to even tell at the time I checked in) and kept talking over me every time I opened my mouth to state that they were "aware of the problem" with their tanks backing up and causing the awful smell in certain rooms and "trying to fix it." I 100% recommend staying ANYWHERE else. Especially since Credit cards are authorized 48 hours of check-in, and if you don't cancel 48 hours prior to arrival they charge your card for a night's worth of staying there anyway. READ TO THE END FOR THE POSITIVES - I'm giving this place two stars primarily because of how unbelievably thin the walls are. I stayed here with my girlfriend for this past Thanksgiving (she goes to school in Carlisle, I was visiting). From the getgo, the woman at the front desk was implicitly rude. I'm not sure if it was because of my youth or how I dressed, but I felt extremely judged from the moment I checked in. In the room we were staying in, every creak, every croak, every jitter or sudden motion from anybody in the halls was audible. It made me wonder who could hear us/what they were hearing. In any motel, I think the priority should be making the guests feel at home, and I never felt a second at home in that room. Anyways, a couple days in to our stay, I peer the window open to air the room out. Right beneath me, I hear a man (who I want to say was the owner as he always wandered around the lobby and never seemed to really leave) saying to the lady at the front desk "you hear them? yeah, I'm gonna have to sock him if he says anything to me. Better quiet down." and I'm 90% certain that they were referring to me and my girlfriend. Regardless of any noise which occurred over those days, there is no excuse for saying what he said. We were in fear, uncomfortable, and didn't feel like we belonged after hearing that (not like I ever did), in spite of being paying customers. People say the customer is always right and having worked in food service I can say for a fact that that is not always true, however, the customer is putting money in your pocket and for that, they should be granted the decency of being treated kindly and respectfully. Simple solution to your customer-happy trigger fist, buddy: renovate the place, add some sound proofing or thicken the walls, and stop threatening your customers from beneath their noses. ALSO - WIFI IS NOT FREE. All that said, our room was very spacious and decorated wonderfully, had a lot of dresser space and a niche little nightstand, beautifully sewn drapes, a large leather chair tucked in the corner and the bed was, while a bit firm, very easy to sleep in. Pillows were soft and the bathroom was accommodating. Overall 2.5/5. In other words, you failed. If it wasn't for your little threat, this would've been a much better stay. For a no-frills motel, it serves its purpose. The room was clean, the bathroom was nice, and the A/C worked great. We checked in after 10:30pm using the "dial 0" method. The greeting was friendly, someone came to help within a couple minutes, and we were given a room with ample space. Yes, the decor is outdated but we weren't looking for The Ritz ... just a place to get a good night's sleep and a shower in the morning. Our suite (12) served its purpose. And it had free wi-fi. P.S. On the positive side, it's cheap and close to Hershey attractions. Beyond that, everything else was pretty much a negative. Our bed didn't get turned down, the pool is outdoors and unheated so unless it's 90+ degrees outside it isn't really usable (and no one tried to use it besides us), the amenities are outdated, and it's a pet peeve of mine when places charge you for using the wifi; I feel like the cheaper motels don't, and there's really no need to do so, so it feels nickel-and-dime-y. As others have mentioned, the staff are really nice, but I found it a little patronizing, as if to dissuade complaints by affecting a friendly, small-town demeanor. When I've traveled hundreds of miles and given them hundreds of dollars, I want more than just a friendly, we're-all-in-this-together pleasantries; I think it's fair to want good service and equitable treatment. Maybe it's just the city-dweller in me, but I'd rather be treated rudely by a great hotel than wonderfully by a terrible one. My wife said, after our first night here, that we should have stayed at the Days Inn. The people next door to us literally were throwing themselves against the wall we asked them to be quite, and they produced to break into my car rip out my spark plug wires so I couldn't leave and stab up my gear shifter as to ruin my transmission. The owner did nothing about this at all. Told us not to call the cops because they had no proof. He was extremely rude to my mother when she came to help me get my things together and kept harassing me about towing my car back to Lancaster. All the people who live on the property are very sketchy and made me feel uncomfortable. Will not recommend to anyone don't go here. Please save yourself the trouble and go to a real hotel, this place is no good. A cheap motel makes for a cheap stay. DONT STAY HERE!!!!!! read more

Ok, honest review time.. Is this the nicest place I've stayed at? No, it is not.. But i think some of these people are over exaggerating a little bit.. Staff.. Its definitely a unique bunch.. But everyone we encountered was so nice and willing to bend over backwards to help out.. The handy man was giving people rides to the grocery store.. He offered to pick us up Park tickets if we needed to.. He was possibly a little unusual, but super friendly and super willing to help out. Rooms.. Decor is very dated.. No doubt about that.. Laughable for sure.. But our room was more spacious than what we expect these days.. It was super clean.. Am I saying that there wont be any issues? Of course there will be.. Its an old building.. Can i see A/C problems, plumbing problems etc? Sure, its an old building.. But it seems to me that the staff there is willing to make things right and definitely take pride in the place. Kids.. I mean, I thought it was a great place for kids.. We have a 2 yr old.. She loved the grassy area she could run around in.. Loved the pool area.. It is an above ground job with a deck.. Which is unusual, but it was really great for her to splash around in.. Once we put her to bed around 8 each nite, there were nice areas outside that we could relax and enjoy.. Most places we would be stuck going to bed because there is no real place in reach of the baby monitor to hang out.. we ordered food, drank a few beers.. had a great time!! Location.. Doesn't get much better.. Easy walk that saves you 15 dollars parking.. It gets a little treacherous by the under pass.. Not much room to walk, but if you are careful, its easily doable.. 15 min walk to park entrance max.. CVS is right down the road, which we used for many things we needed along the way.. And close to many food places.. Good pizza place, Chipolte.. Hershey Grille.. Really nice.. Price.. so, the Days Inn across the street was 100 bucks more basically.. Would have been stuck in our room being quiet all night.. Simmons was so nice to be able to hang out while the kid slept.. We stayed in the main Motel part.. but it seems like they bought the surrounding houses and turned them into rooms.. I cant speak for them too much.. the ones i saw though had full kitchens which might be nice for some. Yes, a train goes by.. No, its not that bad.. They had coffee and donuts in the "lobby" in the Am.. we had a fridge that did well and a microwave.. shower was hot.. no issues.. a nice option.. nicest place ive been to, no.. not even close.. but id go there again.. unique little place.. This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! We had a two bedroom unit for two families. One of the bedrooms didn't have a door, the bathroom didn't have a lock (and there was a four year old with us that really wanted to be in the bathroom). The medicine cabinet was broken, The kitchen's equipment was two huge pans. Not very clean and had an open door to the attic that was filled with old furniture, bedpans, etc. We paid $310 for two nights, so it definitely was not economical for what you got. I would not recommend this place to anybody even though they were nice and were clean and that is mostly it. It is a walking distance from Attractions and decent price.Because I went to that motel I dialed 0 for assistance and they answered and said they would come down. It took a while and I smelled smoke , they came told me where to go I wish they showed me (but I got lost to get to the office I thought it would be in front.) anyway there was no remote (and only one channel unless you have that) and phone. I called and let them know but when I though was a staff member but it was a guest (who knows the owner, creepy) anyway who did not know too much about the electronics's. So there was not free breakfast so I went to rite aid. I had a hard time finding the ice machine because there where not sign and I called the help desk they did not come they just did it on the phone (not right). Trying to look for anything is like a maze. When I told about a wake up call at 9:30 am but they did not call until 9:45 am, I am so glad I was already away. And when I got done and I called that the guy told me to put the key on the desk and they would email. The location was the only good thing about this hotel The rooms smelled of bleach and no ac was running so had to turn on ac and open doors and window to clear out the odor. The pool was collapsed and was not notified at check in. At check in we were told we could park at spot closest to stairs. When we came back after letting room air out for an hour they had begun filming the show "hotel impossible" and as we were unloading luggage we were told to move our car. No one offered to help with luggage. Then they posted signs stating that we were filmed then that gave them automatic permission to use it on the air. After we finally got luggage to room we were basically trapped in room because they were filming just outside of its location. The next morning we decided we had enough so we pulled car up to space at end of steps to load. While loading again told to move car with no offer to help load luggage. 1.5 stars for price and location- hotel is a brief walk to hershey and has riteaid and pizza place right near it.... but with a low cost hotel comes smelly rooms and what appeared to be a dried blood on one of the pillows. I think the smell comes from the window air units ... I suspect their filters haven't been cleaned in a decade. It would be wise of this motel to invest $3,000 in each room with new paint, new carpet, new linens, and updated decor... they're on a downward spiral into the abyss read more

Do not stay here! The rooms are circa 1978 and on the wall of the bathroom it states that inventory is done and you will be charged if anything is missing/damaged. I accidentally left my toothbrush there and called to ask them to mail it to me. While I can see charging me for shipping Mr. Simmons wants me to pay an additional 10.00 because as the teenager who answered the phone "He has to go out of his way to where he does his mail". Um you mean the post office down the road? The only redeeming quality is that it is within walking distance to the park. Wished I had stayed at the Days inn across the street. read more

At first glance the place is very quaint. Once you get inside it's very date, which is still not bad. It was when I turned the bed down and saw someone else's hair and a spot of blood that I'm basing this review. It was too late and I was too tired to do anything that night, we had 2 beds and the other was ok. Next morning I told the office person that the bed was not changed and her reasoning was that they were short staffed. I paid 144.00 for the night and that's what I got! The place is very close to the park which I like. The room was nice,. Clean and cozy.. I love the bed. It was very comfortable, they're so generous with the pillows. The only thing I didn't like was the door that was connected to the other room. My friend saw a little boy came to the door from the other room. Im not really sure if I would recommend this place or not. There was the strong lingering odor of stale smoke all over the building, my room was around the outside going upstairs in what seemed to have been part of the old attic. A strong odor here. But aside from the intense heat, the extremely small bathroom and that "odor".. not sure if it was garlic or just "old spooky attic". Anyway, good thing I am skinny and could make it up those narrow and steep stairs to the top. But, I must say, the silence was splendid up there. read more

4 days before check in, I got a call to tell me there is something wrong with my room and they need to cancel my reservation leaving me without anywhere to stay. All of the hotels were already booked and it forced me to find a hotel very far away. I have never in all my years of travel had something so unprofessional happen. They weren't even apologetic and even got snippy at me when I told them how angry I was. I had felt this hotel was sketchy right from the start and they proved me right.
