The buildings--well, at least our building--are old, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in other apartments (I wish one neighbor would stop aguing with her boyfriend?/pimp?/husband? about the same damn problems and just dump his ass, geez). Management is non-existant (hard to reach, especially if you have questions/concerns, and doesn't return phone calls). Some neighbors are nice, but many in and near our building do not have respect for anyone (for example, there is some guy who claims to be a "DJ" who blasts music almost every weekend from his apartment...and you can hear it throughout the entire courtyard). Maintenance guys are usually nice and helfpful, and I do agree with the previous review in that they keep the grounds nice and well-maintained. NOTE: If you like racoons, there are plenty of them that roam around, especially near and in the dumpsters in the parking lot. There are plenty of better options out there folks. This place isn't worth the rent they charge.

Since the change, I have noticed a significant improvement in maintenance, landscaping, snow removal and general quality of this property. As my lease is coming up for renewal again, I looked around to see if there were any other properties locally that were better priced and offered more for my money. There aren't. I am definitely renewing my lease here as I see the improvement being made. I was very surprised to read the negative comments about the office and maintenance as I have never been treated rudely or had any maintenance issues. I love living in Palos Hills and think Scenic Tree is a great place to call Home. Hope this helps others in making an informed decision.

Green Oaks has the gym and pool Scenic Tree does not & no, Scenic Tree residents can't use those amenities. -Paying for resident, visitor, & handicap parking even though there is so much space ($50/ car per year and $2.50 for passes per car per day). -Storage unit is literally a chain link fence that they charge $25/month for and stuff ALWAYS gets damaged/stolen. -Laundry rooms never get cleaned and I do mean never. You also have to go to the office with cash to use the machine to put money on your laundry card. There are times where the machine is down ( no notice) or the washer or dryer is broken (YOU have to download the outside company app when this happens to file a complaint. Scenic Tree/Mathin Reality Services LLC. Will just tell you to call them) yet the prices continue to increase. 1 load is $5.25 -Mold and water damaged hallway walls and storage "room" (they fixed the mold damage in storage unit area but it took at least 6 months of complaints before someone went down and stopped the water that was coming out of the ceiling from a broken pipe. So much was destroyed while waiting though. Bikes, ac units, camping equipment....) -expired fire extinguishers (they've fixed this but it took about 4 months) -unsalted sidewalks in winter while cracked & uneven ones in the summer (hope you don't have a physical disability because you WILL fall) -Exterior doors that don't lock for more then 2 months at a time -Office closes at random times so late fees/car tows happen often. On top of that the owner actually disclosed that he cleans after each tenant (debatable) and took that cost out of my deposit. Sorry, but there is a lot of shadey stuff happening here. Be weary. No snow removal, no phone presence, and forcing tenants to hoop jump to get any service. Now, for the second time in two years, the place has switched hands again...being run by Bender Companies. I have been paying for my older loved one to live here for near twenty years...I beg her to leave, but she made friends there. After only a few weeks of Bender running the place....they increase her rent by nearly 50% overnight! This means I'll have to uproot my family member from her friends now and deal with a move in the dead of a hot summer. Run the other way.....this place is cursed with a history of difficult management and this may be the worst yet!
