Unfortunately, I have to disagree with my fellow Yelper who loves this place. In my opinion, it blows. Maybe this Yelper lives in a building with residents that actually respect one another (super lucky)! The buildings--well, at least our building--are old, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in other apartments (I wish one neighbor would stop aguing with her boyfriend?/pimp?/husband? about the same damn problems and just dump his ass, geez). Management is non-existant (hard to reach, especially if you have questions/concerns, and doesn't return phone calls). Some neighbors are nice, but many in and near our building do not have respect for anyone (for example, there is some guy who claims to be a "DJ" who blasts music almost every weekend from his apartment...and you can hear it throughout the entire courtyard). Maintenance guys are usually nice and helfpful, and I do agree with the previous review in that they keep the grounds nice and well-maintained. NOTE: If you like racoons, there are plenty of them that roam around, especially near and in the dumpsters in the parking lot. There are plenty of better options out there folks. I'm a current resident at Woodland Courts. For the price being asked, Woodland has exceeded my expectations. I lived in the south loop where my rent was more than twice the amount I pay at Woodland, but needed to be closer to work. A few of the offered amenities include on site washers and dryers (which could be updated with newer machines, but are always readily available), designated grilling areas, balcony, in ground pool, and free parking. Having some of those things alone was a plus because I had to pay $300 a month for parking, couldn't grill, and had no balcony at the last place. The management staff has been as good as I can ask for. The manager has kept the property in great condition and addresses issues in a timely manner. Any work orders I've put in have been taken care of quickly. The maintenance staff has shown themselves to be professional and competent. I really couldn't ask for much more. The units themselves look a little dated as far as finishes go, but at the price I'm paying its not much of an issue. Overall, a $1000 for a two bedroom feels like a steal. I can't even tell you all how awful this place is!!! Management is EXTREMELY RUDE &DISRESPECTFUL. My husband and are children only been here 6 months. We pay our rent on time and ALWAYS on the go. We work everyday and barely at home. The building manager has a very bad attitude she is very unprofessional. For example: She claimed that tenants in the building we're complaining that our children we're too loud mind you all my children are 2-6 yrs of age. We leave everyday for work at 4am and don't return until 6-7 in the evening time. So she calls my husband and tell him she needs to talk to us so I were to pay her a visit she gives me a paper stating that shes terminating our lease after we done paid our rent for the month. I got upset and asked her" why would you do that without even making sure it was true"? I consistantly told her "thats not true we're not at home at the time she claim my children were making noise. She also claimed my husband and I are arguing at 3-4 in the morning I tells her it's a lie were gone to work around that time. She gets very rude demanding us to leave her office or she will call the police. She even stated out her mouth that everytime she comes to our door we're never at home sooooo how can we be disturbing the neighbors when there are other people who live in that building with kids that could possibly be making noise. When we asked her for her supervisor number she says "No, I'm not giving you anything ,everything goes through me" "Now im giving you guys until January to get out my building " I tells her that I will be filing a law suite against her she tells me " you don't make enough to Sue me" But I filed against her anyways and she will be getting served. That women should not be managing anything she so disrespectful and out of line. She was getting more upset with us because we knew our rights so she makes a statement and says "I'm glad y'all know y'all rights now get out my office " I can't wait to have my day in court with her cause I will sue the pants off of her. I recommend NO ONE to ever waste there money in this dump. After the incident she lowered the heat in our apartment so we had to call the building inspector on her. This complex at times is ran by virtually non-existent staffing. They are there, but they are not there. I strongly advise that you seek out other places to live before even thinking about moving here. The Alsip police force has come out on numerous occasions about the 3rd floor neighbors continuing to act as though they live in a house while occupying a 3rd floor apartment lease by playing what sounds like football, soccer and other noises and after 11 p.m. One night, at approximately 11:30 p.m., I observed a tenant who had just moved in the building, on the 1st floor, walk up in his robe and ask the people directly on top of him and right across from us, to please knock it off with the noise because he needed his sleep in order to have his rest to get up and go to work. At first they tried to avoid him by not answering his knocks, but he left and came back within minutes. They then answered, apologized and said it wouldn't happen again. Now should someone really have to tell an 'apartment dweller' that? Guess what? Those same people that the gentlemen in the robe had a problem with were related to the very people whom are up for discussion in this post that live on the 3rd floor. Guess what? Those same people were evicted shortly thereafter. Talk about "justice"! What's really downright amazing is the fact that they are quieter in the daytime and begin to make ruckus after 9 p.m.----go figure.They even admit to leaving water running where it overflows into our apartment and they still have not been made to move to a first floor where they cannot cause harm. I promise I don't work for Woodland Court apartments, but I really like Woodland Courts. When I first moved here, it was family owned and managed and their were cameras, which is why I chose the place. They offered me a low security deposit and one month free. I had new carpeting and the apartment was spacious and well maintained. It is now managed by Pinnacle, I believe, and they are doing a decent job. Things don't get done as soon as they used to but in comparison to other apartment communities that I have lived, I would give them an A. The grounds are very well maintained. The elementary and Junior High schools that the kids attend are good schools. There are a lot of children in the area. That was a plus for me. Every year their is a community pool party for residents. Pinnacle has continued that tradition. The only time I have ever had a problem is when some pipes were being worked on in the basement and it took months for them to get rid of all of the gnats, but other than that, no real problems. The location is great. It is a bit pricey for Alsip, but there is a pool and a nice balcony. Also, you are probably paying for the location. The cameras no longer work. My lease ends soon and I am really going to miss living at Woodland Courts, but I don't want my child at Eisenhower or a pricey private Highschool so I have to go. If I didn't have a teenager, I would definitely stay. The neighbors are wonderful (everyone works). There was a time when their was a waiting list to move in. That has changed but a lot of the residents have been their a long time. If I could change anything about Woodland Court, it would be that we had assigned parking spaces but the lot is huge and I believe the village of Alsip owns it. read more

I currently reside in Woodland Courts and on some points, I have to disagree with Ray T. One point being Christie being "unreachable". Everytime that I have had a question, a complaint, a maintenance issue or any other issue, I receive a prompt response and action. I am in the building that was next to be remodeled before the sale of the property. I am advised that remodeling of my building will occur this year. I will patiently wait. I have noticed that some of the maintenance personnel has changed but it has not compromised their response to any issue that I may have. I do agree with Ray T when he states that the floors are weak and the water spots are present, but my water spots, which resulted from a recent roofing issue, appeared during the heavy rain of the fall season and when I brought it to the attention of the property manager, I was assured that it will be taken care of once the weather breaks, allowing roofing work to be done. I am a decent hardworking person who resides on the property with a decent ($63,000+ income), so I could take offense to that statement but I wont because it doesnt apply to me. I must, however, agree with Ray T. on some of the newer tenants that have moved in. I have noticed that they are allowing a different "quality" of tenants to move in, which could in the future, destroy the overall property. I would suggest a criminal background check in addition to a credit check and personal references in addition to previous landlord reference - and be very strict about it. For now, I am pleased with my experience at Woodland Courts. I will keep you posted. read more
