When you arrive, the road or entrance driveway will take you in front of the church, and then as you will follow it will take you to a parking deck. After qualifying me for assistance it appears as though they collected all of my personal information only to ultimately to scam me and then tell me they couldn't help, after stringing me along throughout the process for 3 weeks! Martin who broadcasted worship services on his YouTube page. Though I am not an active member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, I would love to follow worship services from time to time which works with my daily schedule. And what a luxury it is being able to view worship services and hear sermons wherever I may be or during any time of the day. I could not help but tune in and listen as the choir of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church praised. Their music and praise made me grateful that I grew up in a Baptist church as a child. I loved how Minister Dana Tyler acknowledged those who are watching online followed by her powerful prayer giving thanks to God, Hallelujah! And oh my, I felt chills listening to the beautiful voice of Janae Denise, which nearly put me in tears. Pastor Jamal Bryant's sermon (No wonder it didn't work) centered around how in God's will that somethings are not meant to be! How clean our records would be if we had not chosen the wrong people in our lives. Lives would not be so blemished, if it were not who you chose. You picked someone who could not nourish your soul! And God was already working it out because he has a better plan for you. We as humans are not for everybody! They got the best of you when you were in your worst moment and God has broken the tie! If God is not in it, the relationship will not work because God refuses to let you be connected in illegal alignment. As he concluded, he shared that everything you have been working on is getting ready to happen because all you needed was one good person; that person that believed in you! Embrace the new individuals that God is sending into your life. Like the other mega churches I continue to follow online, I hope to someday attend New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in-person in Lithonia, GA. Pastor Jamal Bryant's word was not only enlightening but gave me that inspiration I yearn for going into the week ahead. I'm started my church search again, and this time I'm truly on a mission to find a place I can…read morebecome a member of, serve, grow, and all that good stuff. I have a few preferences-- diverse congregation, friendly inviting people, good music, close to home, and hour and half or less service. I first visited Midtown Bridge last week, but they changed the time and location to a different place, so I decided to visit another church. I came back this week (today actually) and I can say this is a very easy straightforward church to go to for anyone. More details below. LOCATION: Atlantic Station, Regal Cinemas. 10AM. There will be church signs in front of the cinema on days they have service. This location is perfect because everyone is familiar with it. You park it the deck below, you get 2 hours free which is enough for church because its only about 1hr 15 minutes (1hr 30 at max I believe). However you can bring up your ticket to get it validated like you would after the movies (there are stamping stations near the exits) That gives you an extra 2 hrs so you'll have a total of 4hrs. This is good if you wanted to do some shopping or eat in Atlantic Station after church. FIRST IMPRESSION/GREETINGS: There are two greeters outside, then two when you enter into the cinemas and they hand you the program. I got mostly smiles and kind greetings from these people. They have drinks (coffee and maybe juice) and cake for everyone which is very nice. I didn't partake this time, but next time I will. Upon entering the theater for service I was greeted by another really kind guy who actually spoke, he was definitely the best of all the greeters. SEATING: It's in the theater so you find seating just like you would at the movies. Don't worry there are plenty of seats even if you arrive a little late there will likely be atleast 1 or 2 rows where there are a bunch of empty seats. SERVICE: Started with Music, Welcome/Greetings- "say hello to a neighbor", (the day I went there were baby dedications), Prayer, Music, Sermon, Music + Offering, Announcements. That's pretty much how it went. Very straightforward, perfect for a modern church. I was in at 10 and out before 11:30. And by out I mean in my car and driving off and turning down 17th Street at 11:28am. CONGREGATION: Hands down the most diverse church I have ever been too, this has to be the most equally diverse church in Atlanta right now. Literally like 50/50 or should I say 40/40/20-- white, black, asian. Families to singles. Older and younger. I think the location, casual atmosphere, and service time aid in this. You can come as you are (jeans and sneakers or dressed up), you're going to a place that you're familiar with (atlantic station), the service is like a mass (60 minutes--- which for southern raised baptists like myself is simply amazing since church was an easily a 2.5 hr deal or more every Sunday.) Its a hodge podge of people. The congregation looks how you would imagine all churches would in 2014. I'm still shocked how equal it was in regards to race. Usually there are more whites or blacks or whatever, but nope... the most equal I've seen it. It was very cool and great to experience. SERMON: The pastor is a nice guy. The sermon went along with a series they're on, and they had the scriptures and major points on the screen. SUMMARY: How do I describe it? Hmmm, let's see... I've only been once so far, but this church felt like a true "city church" to me or maybe its simply like a mass. You can come here and fellowship/build a church home or you can simply just come and get the word, it's only an hour out of your Sunday and positive way to start the week. I don't think I'll make this my church home, but I will definitely regularly visit :-) 4/5 because of the diversity, location, and food. UPDATE 4/6/14: I've visited the church again and the church is 1.5 hours, 1 hr 30 minutes. Which is decent. The theater can get quite cold, so bring a sweater or jacket... I almost fell asleep today it was so cold, lol.

JCA is just one of the many churches belonging to the AMI (Acts Ministries International) family which primarily serves college communities. With that said, JCA was planted in close proximity to the G Tech, GSU, and Emory campuses. JCA has been my home church for over 6 years, and I serve as the co-leader of the hospitality team, which provides yummy refreshments after service. Service & Parking information: This particular location on Sheridan serves the young adult community (post-undergraduate and beyond) Sunday's at 1:30 PM, within the Westminster Presbyterian Church facilities (who have graciously allowed us to use their fellowship hall, beautiful sanctuary, and kitchen). If you have young children and infants, the Children's Ministry can accommodate you while you are in service, watching over the little people and incorporating Sunday School Bible stories and games. There are plenty of parking spaces in the lot adjacent to the church. The college service starts at 11 AM in the Architecture Auditorium on the Georgia Tech Campus. Free parking is located within a parking deck just a couple of blocks away. Events and traditions: I appreciate JCA because of its organization, but I love it because of how much focus is on prayer and the Word. Twice a year, JCA has retreats and prayer vigils; once a year, we have what we would call, Journey Bowl. Basically, it's a friendly competition between FGs (described in further detail below) consisting of relatively non-athletic games. We recently had one of our biggest and most important services: Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! The attendance was definitely over 400, and you are expected to prepare your stomachs for menu items such as: pinwheels, spaghetti & meatballs, deviled eggs, tres leches, and more! I'm on Hospitality team, so I'm biased, but seriously...who isn't big on food? JCA Bible studies are more commonly known as FGs (or Family Groups). These are broken down in personal preference of where you live (i.e. Clarkston, Buckhead, etc), if you are a student then where you go to school, and what day you want to meet. FGs meet weekly to incorporate an intimate setting of sharing and fellowship. There is so much more, but I guess with anything, you can't truly experience anything through a Yelp review. So, come join us for service! You'll most likely find me behind the table with food post-service talking with someone or stealing bites!

There's a small but talented and heartfelt choir and lots of singing in each service. Lots of small groups help people get involved. KUCC serves its community and beyond - taking offerings for flood relief, for example. The space is small, but the congregation fits in perfectly. There's a separate space for children to come together during worship, which helps with keeping the sacred time quiet and good for contemplation and prayer.
