They were the only company I contacted that advised waiting a certain amount of time after foundation work being completed to get an accurate quote, which tells me they aren't just put for a quick payday. They repaired my brick planters in June and the mortar was already separating in July. I sent an email with pictures....no response. I called and they said they would have someone come look at it....no response. I emailed again and finally got a reply email that they wouldn't fix it because the planters weren't on a foundation so they would keep separating from the house. t makes sense but would have been nice to know all that before they did the job. I asked if they would come fix the other cracked mortar that was not attaching the planters to the house.....no response. I gave up. Will find a better company next time. read more

First off, I can't review the quality of their work. Because, frankly, I couldn't get them here to do the work... Second, beware the customer service. They will assign you a "project manager" who is really just Scott Jennings, the owners' kid (see the other negative review and you'll see his pattern of mistreating customers when he finally gets around to communicating with them). In 7/20/20 we made the required $250 deposit to secure work on an estimate to have our home's brick siding repaired and pointed. Total cost was going to be roughly $2400. We agreed and understood with all the craziness and such that work would be scheduled 4-6 weeks out (although, how a pandemic effects a job done exclusively outdoors and with minimal manpower is a bit confusing, but hey, 2020 right?). Around the 2 month mark, we had zero contact or follow up. I attempted to call the business for an update and got messaging service and no response. Finally left a negative review and, voila! Scott Jennings figures out email and messages and apology and advises his technician, "Jesus", will be contacting me to schedule my work the week of 10/5. Cool! No problem, at least now we know what's going on. 9/30, 4:59pm, Jesus calls and leaves a voicemail saying my work is scheduled to begin on 10/7 and asks to call back and confirm. 5:02pm, I call Jesus back and go right to voice mail. I leave a 40 second message confirming the appointment and requesting he call or text should there be any changes or delays. Never hear back. 10/7... no show, no call. I call Jesus, who tells me he never heard back from me so he scheduled another job in my slot. I told him no, I called you back immediately and left a detailed message confirming and asking for a call or text if any delays/changes. He says he didn't get it and best he can do is get to me in a day or two. I tell him to forget it and return my deposit, that I am unhappy about the time and good weather wasted waiting on them and the time I took off work to accommodate their carelessness. Scott Jennings, the "project manager" then called me back and I explained the situation to him. He immediately became defensive and told me I didn't confirm with them, so the best he can do is a couple of days to squeeze me in. I again told him I called back which he denied. I explained that it's 2020... I am looking at my call log showing I called Jesus back within 3 minutes. He then became more adversarial and said I he may have had a missed call but that's not a confirmation. I explained my call has a 40 second duration, which is only possible if Jesus or his voicemail picked up. Things deteriorated from there, as Scott went to the point of saying he doesn't know me, but he knows Jesus, and he's a really "good guy". I explained a "good guy" does what's required to get the customer handled and the company paid. And while I'm sure Jesus and he himself are great guys, they suck at customer service and business. That I'm not going to be the scapegoat of excuses for someone else dropping the ball they were paid to handle or be gaslit into accepting I have to accept taking more time off work, etc to which he replied "it's a couple of days, come on!" Ok... yeah, what's a couple of days after waiting months, right? Wrong. I explained that I am now concerned that, if I'm having such a customer service attitude and incompetence issue BEFORE I even pay for the work, I will be in for a real treat if there's an issue with the work or anything else afterward. I mean, if they can't pick up the phone or be professional/courteous to earn your business, WTF do they do to keep it?? Seriously... And asked to speak to the owner (before I knew I was asking to talk to his Dad). Later, James Jennings, sire of the smarmy pup, Scott, called me. He said he was aware of my issue and said Scott had filled him in on the details. I amended that he might know what Scott's version is, but that he understood the "details" differently with me, so reason dictates he relayed them differently as well. Basically the same story as junior... I didn't confirm, Jesus is great and if he says he had no message he had no message... blah blah blah. So I asked to pin that issue for the moment and asked why, if they are "so swamped" or backlogged with appointments, someone would schedule me and call to confirm and then... what, bank that I receive my voicemails more reliably than they do and just cancel my appointment after months of waiting, already one negative online review, and only one attempt to confirm via voicemail?? We talked around the fact that voicemails are acceptable as a means of calling the customer, but inherently unreliable as a means for the customer to reply and justifiable reason for cancelation. He touted their great reviews and I explained customers Scott Jennings jacks around and gaslights don't generally leave reviews because they never do the work. NO TO BRICK DR! read more

We have a house that was built in the 70s. Complex roof structure, tall chimney... The chimney was showing signs of age (on the outside in the weather). We couted around looking for a contractor to fix this. We ended up picking the Brick Doctor based on some recommendations from friends. I am glad we did. While it took a while to get scheduled, they came out, estimated the work, showed us pictures taken at the top (so I didn't have to climb up and look!) and gave us a quote. The quote was higher than some, but what they decided was necessary was more in line with some of the cosmetic solutions proposed by others. They wanted a 20% deposit and the rest on completiopn. No problem there. Major scaffold put up, great care taken not to damage the integrity of the roof. Demollition was handled well. Redoing the brickwork was done professionally and the site cleaned up - as if they hadn't been there. This was as good as it gets! read more

They provided a quick response and proposal. After approving the proposal, the work was completed per the schedule that they provided. We were delighted with the work. You could not see where the repairs were located. We have across some additional mortar cracks that we did not see the first time, so we are reaching out to them to help us out again! read more

DO NOT USE Brick Doctor [Please note that this site did not allow enough space to post both our original review and our response to the comment made by the owner Mr. Jennings', so you may want to check other review sites if you want to see the full details. However, below is our response to Mr. Jennings' reply.] In Mr. Jennings' post on April 18th, several statements and accusations were made that are completely inaccurate. The first inaccuracy is that Mr. Jennings implied that we were "looking for an excuse not to pay" and directly accused us of not paying them. This is simply not true, and Mr. Jennings knew that before he made the accusation. We simply disagreed about the scope of work that was performed. And despite that, we paid the Brick Doctor in full, and we never gave them any indication that we wouldn't. In fact, we paid a $250 deposit (which was required to even schedule the work) almost six weeks before any work was performed. And, after we heard from Mr. Jennings that they were not willing to come back unless we paid them more money to finish the work as we had understood the scope to be, we notified Mr. Jennings via email on April 16th that we would be submitting our final payment for the remaining balance the next morning, which we did. We mailed a check for the full remaining balance on April 17th, within two weeks of the invoice date, more than two weeks before the due date, and BEFORE he accused us of not paying them. In addition, statements were made such as "the Project Manager could not seem to satisfy her". The truth is the Project Manager never tried to satisfy us beyond the ONE minor cleanup item he did (not "a few" as was stated in Mr. Jennings' reply). Instead, he left our home without speaking to me and did not answer or return two calls I made to him, including a message I left in which I thanked him for the cleanup item he did. The only responses we got were from Mr. Jennings, who very clearly stated that they had done what was agreed to and would only come back out if we paid them more money. And, he acted as if he was doing us a favor by not charging their minimum call out fee, though this was not new work, and we were already paying him quite a bit of money for the work we had agreed to. The statement was also made that we were asking "for favors" and wanting to 'add areas' "for free". The truth is we paid them in full, as stated before, so we never asked for anything "for free". And we did not ask for any "favors". We were simply asking them to complete the job as we had discussed at the time of the estimate. This was actually work that was suggested by the Project Manager at the time of the estimate. No measurements were taken of this crack at the time of the estimate, and no discussion was held about the length of the crack or that it only went partially up the roof line. Based on our discussion, the implication and my understanding was that that entire section of roof line would be filled in. When the Project Manager pointed me back to the contract and suggested I should have taken my own measurements, however, he showed me how the squiggly line he drew didn't go ALL the way to the roof line. So, by the letter of the law, they are correct that they had done exactly and ONLY what was explicitly agreed to, though they did not go "above and beyond" or apply the "second-mile philosophy" that Mr. Jennings said they "believe strongly". And as such, we paid them in full, as we had agreed. The statement was also made that this area was "high on the roof, practically out of sight". The section of roof line in question is neither of those. It is part of the roof line that runs along the bottom story of our home, above the garage. It is in the front of the home, facing the street. Mr. Jennings' reply defended the quality of their work, and to be clear, our post had nothing to do with the quality of the work that was performed by Brick Doctor or of their workmen. Our post and our concerns were about our experience with their customer service as we tried to resolve a question over a miscommunication or misunderstanding of the scope of work that was agreed to. We now have even more concerns with their customer service after the false statements and false accusations that have been made against us by the owner of this company. We understand and are happy that they have other satisfied customers. We are simply sharing our experience and warning others that, based on our experience, if you choose to do business with Brick Doctor, be sure to carefully read the contract, take you own measurements, ensure you are satisfied before the workmen leave, and do not expect to be met with a positive customer service experience if you disagree with the scope of work that is performed. read more

I can say that the mason who came to do our brick repair did a great job. The repair is not even noticeable and he matched the brick and mortar exactly. That was my worst fear and he put it to rest. If you use these guys, and you should, make sure you confirm what time they are showing up because they are early birds. This mason was on my front porch at 630am. I had issues with the front arch, with brick coming loose which was becoming unsafe. I also had cracks develop by the garage door. Scott provided me with an extremely fair quote to correct the issues. I was scared it would cost a lot more. The crew that performed the work did a great job. The Brick Doctor guys just left our house a few minutes ago. I have to say, I've never been happier with contractor work. These guys did a perfect job, were courteous the entire time, finished quickly for the amount of labor involved, and cleaned up after themselves. The price was more than reasonable....I expected it to be more for how much we needed done. I would highly recommend them for any brick or masonry work you need done. We had 2 big cracks in our side brick from foundation movement, one in the front brick and one in the entry arch. Once we had the foundation issues straightened out, we called Brick Doctor to repair the brick. They matched the brick and mortar perfectly, and I can't even tell where the damage was repaired. I called to have a representative come out and give me an estimate on repairing my 70yr old Austin stone. I was told that based on my zip-code the fee for an estimate was $65. I asked why the website said that estimates are free and I was told it was because I was outside of the "service area". They informed me that I could look at the zip codes in "service area" on the website. I acknowledged this and went to the website to confirm. She was correct this was clearly outlined on the website. However what rubbed me the wrong way was that the "service area" is incredibly selective. I actually mapped it out, and compared it to the most recent census data and you can see that they have carved out low-income and minority areas, while areas like Northern Frisco and parts of Burleson are still in the"service area", even though they are significantly farther away. I don't appreciate when a business of any nature redlines an area and intentionally charges low-income residents more money than others. As a result I will not be doing business with this company. My neighborhood is an upper middle class area with all brick and/or stone homes selling for $350k+. I have made a point to post on our neighborhood forum to avoid using this companies services. However I'm more than happy to hear any alternative reasons they may have in choosing their "service area" zip codes. The irony is, if I lived 1 block east (further away from them) I would be in the "service area" though. read more

I bought my house a year ago. I called them and Dan came out to look at all the cracks in the brick. I had to wait a month, but him and Kenny did more than I expected. Even though my brick was no longer made, I still could not tell a difference. I got a full repoint.
