**1-Star Review -- Extremely Disappointed With Our Experience**…read more I am extremely disappointed with our experience with Build Strong Construction & Remodeling. What should have been an exciting home improvement project turned into a project that I felt like I had to babysit from beginning to end. From the beginning, we experienced issue after issue. I initially worked with Tom, and unfortunately, that experience was extremely frustrating. His communication and manner of speaking to us were very unprofessional. I felt disrespected during multiple conversations, and instead of feeling like a valued customer, I often felt like I was arguing just to have legitimate concerns heard. David eventually became involved, and while I appreciated having another person involved, the issues with the actual project have continued. We have had to repeatedly point out problems and monitor the work ourselves to make sure things were being addressed. One of the biggest disappointments is the condition of our concrete. During the project, the concrete was damaged/dented and then patched with overlay. The repairs are extremely noticeable and do not blend with the surrounding concrete in either color or texture. This is not what we expected from a professional construction company, and we are very disappointed with the finished appearance. We have already paid the project in full, yet we are still left dealing with unresolved workmanship concerns. I have repeatedly asked to speak directly with the owner because at this point I feel our concerns need to be taken seriously at the highest level. I was told the owner would reach out to me, and although I have been contacted indicating that would happen, **that conversation has yet to actually take place.** The most frustrating part is that I should not have had to constantly monitor and advocate for basic quality and communication throughout a project we hired professionals to complete. I am extremely disappointed with the experience and, based on our experience, I cannot recommend Build Strong Construction & Remodeling. I sincerely hope the company takes our concerns seriously and makes a genuine effort to resolve the remaining issues.

They communicated that morning letting us know they would be here at their allotted appointment time. They called again to tell me they finished one job early and would come early if that was acceptable and it was. When they got here Jesse took the time to explain the process they would be working. They went through a questionnaire to make sure they had our approval. Once we OKd the project they began the work. It took them about 2 hours and they began the work immediately and were professional in every aspect of their project. They worked like a well trained team and completed the work to our satisfaction cleaning up everything when they finished. Once they had completed the work we checked everything they did and were extremely pleased with the work. And the sidewalks that had sunk about 2-3 inches were perfectly level and looked like new. Both my wife and I couldn't be more satisfied. Would recommend groundwork's to anyone needed cement leveling. Plan on using them again for a cracked driveway. Upon completion they took me through a final review of what was done and had questions regarding our satisfaction before they asked to be paid. I really liked that! I will definitely use them again and would highly recommend this crew to anyone needing cement repair.

Big disconnect from sales to field staff, the young man that performed the work was very nice but…read moreVERY inexperienced. Both of these contributed to the field supervisor finally showing up and doing the best he could wrap up the lifting from what had already been done. Unfortunately I paid full price for a "training session", and ending up with mediocre results. As a consumer, 1)do your homework on your project 2) ask lots of questions 3) don't settle... In the future I would be very cautious in using or recommending Groundworks.

In addition, there was about a one foot piece of concrete that had broken off (see pic) where they had "kind of" tried to patch it without my noticing. They were quite expedient at cashing my check after they poured the slab. And my contact at the company repeatedly reminded me of their quality and their 10-year warranty. However, when I asked them repeatedly to repair these two issues over many many weeks - they were not too efficient. They did eventually come out and repair the paint overspray. However, the broken piece was never repaired. Many weeks of promises by them to repair the damage and finish the job - but nothing, I finally had to hire another concrete company to finish the job. These are some texts from my contact at JR & R Concrete: "Been busy gonna send a guy to fix it ill let you know when tommorow" [They sent this to me weeks ago - no follow up.] "Were out of town working that's why it hasn't been repaired we are in Moore Oklahoma working been here for 2 weeks be patient nothing crucial easy fix we will be back this weekend We will fix it when we're back in town" [That was 2 weeks ago - no follow up.] My advice with JR & R, caveat emptor.

The project I had done started a couple months back when I was researching pricing on having concrete poured from the back to the front yard, with a pad to store my garbage cans and any other items on the side of the house, as well as stone edging that matched the front of the house to go along the perimeter of the sidewalk. I had an estimated range of pricing I would be happy with for the amount of concrete and the overall scope of work to be done. Several contractors came out to give me quotes but Daniel was the only one who showed up at the time we had scheduled, which is very much appreciated. We talked about the scope of work, materials required and the timeframe for getting everything done. The pricing for the project was within the range I had researched before so I decided to go ahead and sign on with Daniel for the job. The concrete pour was a single day job. Daniel and his crew showed up in the morning to get all the prep work done and were very accommodating to some of the minor changes that I wanted to implement to the final design. Once that was done it was time to pour, which went about as smoothly as it could've gone. Finally we got the materials required to have the stonework done for the edging on the sidewalk. The materials were delivered to the house the day before and Daniel was again on time the next day to get the project done. We again talked about a couple minor changes to the final design (part of which was suggested by one of his crew) and this was another single day job. Daniel was able to come by the house and clean up everything from the project before I started getting issues from my lovely HOA. Again, overall Daniel did an amazing job, I'm particular about the work done on my house and he was very accommodating with any changes or issues I had. His work is top notch and high quality, I would rate higher if I could. Thank you again Daniel
