The room had a stray cat. After removing it from under the bed we found dried up cat manure all over the rug in different places.

Don't ever book brick lodge in Norcross. You will regret it. Our room had a stray cat in it and after chasing it out we found dried up cat manure in the room floor. Which we should've known because the smell of the room. Don't waste your money on this place.

I went on hotels.com and search for hotels nearest our Koreatown destinations in Duluth. Of course--- too many hotels were there for the choosing. However, Guesthouse Atlanta Norcross stood out in mind because of the low price and the Chinese writing on the front of the building. Sounds strange, but the writing led me to choose the hotel . / / / Just appeared to be an adventure and maybe something different. The only interesting thing that we found about the hotel is the snack machines are filled with Chinese and Korean snacks. One entire snack machine on the first floor is all ramen. For a two star hotel, this place is immaculately clean from our experience. Hair-dryer, microwave, fast wifi with no tricky passwords, and a mini fridge were provided at no additional cost. It is also really nice that the sink is separate from the bathroom with excess counter space. The room was cleaned daily and new towels and toiletries provided. Staying here again next month! Checking-in only took a few seconds, and checking out took even less time. Nothing intrusive and overall drama free experience. It is nice to have one less thing to worry about when you are on vacation and trying to relax. At such a low price, we can afford to visit the area more often.

I stayed in room 152. Honestly, I like that corner room despite the fact that it is a smoking room. PRICE: I booked this place through Orbitz after realizing I haven't found a place to stay yet for my vacation. Considering that I use to work at a hotel and understand that you get pretty much what you pay for when it comes to lodging. This place is actually not that bad considering the amount I paid per night (less than $40 per night). LOCATION: I chose Norcross, Ga to stay because it was the city I stayed at during my last visit and I felt comfortable being there. The hotel is pretty big so it's hard to miss. Once you exit the freeway, you can pretty much spot it. PARKING: I guess there's not much to do in Norcross, Ga so they occupancy probably is less than 50%. Due to this fact, there are plenty of parking space available in their lot. INTERIOR: When I walked into my room, I was bombarded by the smell of cigarettes. That is obvious for a smoking room, but I did not expect it to be that strong. It smelled as if someone just smoked a pack of cigarettes in the room right before I walked in. Well, at least there were more than enough towels for two(2) people. Anyways, the colors are deep and traditional. Honestly, it makes me sleepy and lazy in the room. I honestly do not know when the last time they cleaned the room since the cigarette smell is strong enough to make me believe it must've been awhile. Oh, might I add one(1) dead roach on the floor I found the following morning of my check-in? SERVICE: I am impressed by the customer service at the front desk. As run down as the hotel may seem, I am surprised to how great service they provided. Every since person I encounter and spoke to at the front desk greeted, help and thanked me with a smile (you know me and smiles, i love it!). I did not asked my room to be cleaned during my entire stay (3 nights) there, but I am happy to mention that I wish my room to not be serviced and they did just that. VERDICT: Due to my bad experiences in the past, this lodge ain't bad at all. Yeah, I would stay here again. I'll even ask for the room at the end. Next time though, I'll bring febreeze.

Looking back, I wish I had just splurged and stayed at the hotel across from the Georgia Aquarium. The first room we were assigned had a toilet that didn't work. For the amount of money we paid for a two-night stay, that was completely unacceptable. Overall, the hotel felt more like a Holiday Inn Express than a Hyatt, which was extremely disappointing given the price and the Hyatt brand. During our stay, someone was smoking marijuana in the hotel, and several guests were loud and disruptive, creating an atmosphere that felt unsafe. Because of this, we didn't feel comfortable using the pool. Housekeeping never came to clean our room, provide fresh towels, or restock the in-room coffee supplies. That was especially frustrating because the hotel had run out of coffee at breakfast, forcing us to leave the property and buy coffee elsewhere. For a Hyatt, this level of service was completely unacceptable. The complimentary breakfast was also disappointing. It consisted mostly of processed food and fell far short of the quality I expect from a Hyatt. Overall, this was the worst experience I've ever had at a Hyatt. The property felt run-down, dingy, and poorly managed. Considering what we paid, the value simply wasn't there. I believe the hotel should be thoroughly evaluated to determine why the quality, cleanliness, and overall guest experience have declined so significantly.

The sink had I HOPE, it was corn kernels, on rotation in the drain. I mean they just gave up. I mean... if you stay here.. you'll notice if at the minimum they painted over it, but this is ridiculous. The wall outlets to charge devices can't hold chargers or anything as they're just too loose and they just kept falling out, which just mean they're not child safe (if you have small children) I cannot imagine those who walk around barefoot would only came out with black fit. Thankfully, he must have been a colossal disappointment as he lasted only three or four minutes at a time... so he gets an even worse rating than the hotel at 1 star. But the hotel wasn't much better. The pool was minuscule (a family of 4 would fill it up) and out of order to boot. They told us it had been out for a WEEK. The dryer door was broken. The breakfast was definitely on the cheap side compared to most comfort inns; no grits or oatmeal station, little variety in their pastries. No hot chocolate for the kiddos. Worse, they served the same hot food both days whereas most comfort inns mix the hot stuff up each day so you have some variety. Finally, the staff was clearly understaffed/overworked. Overall, the room was clean but so many other aspects of the hotel made it a rather disappointing experience.

Many guests have also expressed concerns about parking in that area due to the lack of lighting. However, during my whole stay (over a week) it has continually been locked late at night and during the day forcing guests to go to the end of the building. The front desk's response was dismissive, insensitive, and inconsiderate of guest safety--especially for women traveling alone or returning to the hotel late at night.
