It is usually well-attended and I have not had any safety concerns; it certainly feels better than comparable areas on the other side of the river. There are plenty of bikers, but the trail is generally wide enough not to present any major issues of overcrowding. It's definitely a good way to get a taste of the environment without driving too far from the city.

Several ellipticals; lots of bikes, one stairmaster, and some rowers in basement. They got some new weight machines and a small selection of dumbbells that go up to 50 lb. So no lunks here. The indoor track is big plus too, but the Greeneway is right there so why not just run outside? Also several basketball courts, racquetball, and activity rooms. Even craft room. But just $50/year. Can't beat that :)

Been here few times and it can get pretty crowded during the late afternoon with people taking their evening stroll, runners, bikers. There is also a kayak renting area. I've seen groups rent out kayaks and leisurely make their way down the river. The park serves many recreational purposes, highly recommend checking it out. They have few rest rooms that are well kept and managed with even a medical emergency supply room incase of any incidents. The grounds are kept very clean too and lots of public parking available. Disclaimer, lots of nats flying around once weather warms up.

There are agility features, a dog house, and water fountain for both humans and dogs (although last time when I was there they didn't work.) My dog loved playing here! My only worry is that because of the taller grass and bushes nearby, I was being hyper vigilant about snakes (although that may just be a personal worry and not be a real concern at all).

Augusta Riverwalk in Georgia is a wonderful place to unwind and relax at. While my family was in…read moretown bike riding the Greenway in South Carolina we decided to cross state lines and ride in Georgia a little bit. That's when we stumbled upon the Riverwalk. It's a fully brick walkway along the Savannah. My family enjoyed our time here while we took a break from bike riding. Along the path there are numerous picnic tables that offer spectacular views of the river, but the path does not offer a lot of shade. However there is an amphitheater that has a canopy with a couple of benches, if you are looking to get out of the sun. Although my family had a good time at the Riverwalk there is some maintenance that needs to be done. The trellises that are in front of the amphitheater were withered; there was noticeable deterioration of the wood and visible rotting of the wood. Even though the riverwalk path needs some maintenance, I had a wonderful time enjoying nature and relaxing near the Savannah River. I would definitely recommend going to the Riverwalk in Augusta Georgia, if you want to get some fresh air while enjoying the scenery and the sounds of nature.

I assume it's about 3 miles as you can walk at the top level or the bottom level. What was really nice was that along the journey was the water where you you saw the different level measures of flooding in the area that occurred like in 1908, 1928, 1990 and other eras. There were beautifully crafted artwork either bought or on loan to the city of Augusta. Also there were a lot of historical plaques of which one was a paper mill in the area at one time but I'm not sure of the actual location. There was a photo of Moody 1946 which was interesting. I was really sad to see so many fallen beautiful trees which showed how the ecosystem is changing and impacting Mother Earth. I would definitely be going back to this place again.

This was an excellent and very comfortable hotel option while we were visiting the Augusta, GA area last weekend! This boathouse lodging is situated conveniently on the Augusta marina, so there was no parking issues. The reservation process was very easy, and we had no issues communicating with the owner all through our visit. This houseboat was an older vessel, that was restored and could easily be enough space for 4 adults. On our visit we just had 2 adults, so the full size bed was more than comfortable. They also have two two size buckbeds that could be used for kids or other adults. This houseboat was very cozy and comfortable. Sometimes, like people, it is the places right in front of us that we often overlook. For me, it…read morewas a city park just two blocks away. Granted I moved right as the first lockdown occurred and society was cautious concerning human interaction, but I should have taken advantage of this resource sooner. I will start by clarifying that the community center attached to the Park has not been open since at least 2020. I was told by one commissioner that it is unable to be reopened until structural repairs are made to the building. This, much to the dismay of my neighborhood, includes the adjoining swimming pool. But hopefully that will all be taken care of soon. Also, the children's area is not particularly where I find myself enjoying time here. Instead, the baseball field, walking track, and basketball court are where I have recently found respite. The baseball field is mostly grass at this point so it serves as a almost completely secure space for my three dogs to run around. I know that's not the original purpose, but for now that is how I use it. The walking track is not quite a quarter mile, but close enough that 5 laps will get you there. I am sure parents/guardians appreciate that it encompasses the playground so they can watch their children play while getting in some exercise. I prefer mornings if I am putting in a few laps, due to the quiet and the lower temperature. The basketball court is technically four, all parallel. This provides an adequate number of hoops for those who want a full game and those who just want to work on their free throw. As for me, it serves as a spot to work on my three pointer (ugly, but effective). I have yet to use the pavilion, which is covered and has two grills with tables and benches, but the next time I plan a larger gathering of friends that will be the spot. Parking is ample and the Parks & Rec Department does a great job keeping the area clean and mowed. Also, it is only three blocks from downtown! So if you are ever in the area, stop by and unwind. That's what it's for.
