I walked through the doors and it was just a wonderful wonderland for any sort of modeling hobbyist. From RCs to modeling supplies. Trains, planes trains and automobiles. The store is surprisingly large inside by just being a deep, long store. I was very very surprised to find each section has an attendant, like stores from long ago. They knew exactly what I was asking for and where it was. I was only disappointed because I had to pry myself out of this amazing store before I went broke. I will definitely return for modeling supplies on the regular. They have a large selection of models and a surprisingly large selection of trains. I am not into RCs but they look well stocked from planes to cars. They have everything you need as far as modeling supplies, and lots of options. I cannot recommend this store enough. I can even see this store being a tourist stop, as it's just so well stocked and the employees are knowledgeable and very friendly.

I wonder how many other businesses have remained in Eugene for that long--especially that have remained in a single family for so long (maybe Dot Dotson's?). On my recent visit home I dragged my mom here with the kiddo. The shelves were a bit bare, which was a little sad and I think probably a result of online shopping. But they had some games, modern board games, lots of train stuff, remote control toys, and so on. I bought a cute little stuffed bat for the little one because it was the one she showed interest in out of those I showed her, and it made her laugh when I moved it around and its wings flapped. Haha. I know that Eugene Elites did a volunteer event here which is so awesome. It's great that the shop partnered with them on it. Support local businesses!

The store has a new great location and you will really feel welcome whenever you stop by. The owner is very personable and enjoys having discussion when the store is having a down-time or lull. For being a store targeting the nerd culture, the store is also kid-friendly and a treat for youngsters as long as they are halfway respectful. The prices are very reasonable/fair on most items and you won't feel your wallet hurting too bad (as may be the case at other retailers and events of this scene) and the inventory is consistently fresh. They also buy and do credit for items you bring in too! Highly recommend if you are in the Eugene, Oregon area and need to get your geek on! Definitely a delight for the nerd and collectible community of Oregon.

They have a good range of stuff, from baby toys on up to stuff for older kids. Coloring books, blocks, toy cars, fidget-spinners, little guitars, and everything in between. It's a big store and nicely designed, so it's fun to walk around and check things out. Of course it's very kid friendly. Given the 5th St. Market location, you probably won't find any bargains. Collectables are priced in line with the Overstreet guide, but they can be a little optimistic on the grading, so margin hard. I have never sold any used comics to them (hoarder!) and I cannot speak to pricing there, but they are legit is every other aspect that I have dealt with this on. They have several tables set up in the back for folks to play games from the store's collection, or you can bring your own and play. They do have a good store collection if you're looking for something to try, or you can buy something off the shelf and give it a whirl! I was here once with someone who was looking for some novelty version of a Catan or something and the guy seemed a little snooty about it... or maybe it was Tixket to Ride? Anyway it might not be a game he plays but he works in a game shop so it would make sense to know about upcoming releases, and not say that it's not something he's interested in so he doesn't know. Board gamers can be snobby, but TTR is good and though it's not my #1 fave (that's Grand Austria Hotel), it's fun. They do have a really good selection of games here; I picked up my copy of Splendor here, as well as the Lanterns: The Emperor's Gifts expansion, and they have many of the standards like Brass, Catan, Carcassone, Dixit, and so on. I think but don't know if they buy used games, so give them a call if you have them. This store is actually the small one from my understanding. Their flagship is in Medford, which I haven't been to, but I think that's also where their distribution arm is as well. I have Kickstarted a LOT of games and it's always cool to see it's coming from Funagain; feels like supporting a hometown/near hometown business. Parking can be difficult here depending upon the time of day, events happening at the store, and events happening in the neighborhood. We had been driving for about an hour and I was thirsty beyond belief. Unfortunately, it hard for me to find caffeine free, sugar free drinks. Sugarfree is always available, Caffeine free is sometimes available, but combining both is rare. The nice lady at the counter told me that she specifically asked the owner to stock a nice variety. I was extremely grateful. As a matter of fact, as I type this from my hotel room in Roseburg, I wish I could have another cold Sierra Mist. But forget about it! Nothing here.

I've…read moreshopped there several times and basically enjoy it. most of the younger workers there are pleasant and accommodating. Whenever I'm on that side of town, I make excuses to go there. Today I called to inquire to see if a graphic novel was in stock. The guy on the phone told me he didn't have "old stuff like that" ...when I'd purchased something like it from his store mere weeks ago. He told me to "come in and look for it" and we hung up. He'd been very brusque, and I hadn't felt good about the interaction, so I tried calling a few minutes later to say that I didn't feel valued as a customer, but I didn't get to complete my sentence. He told me he didn't have time for me and that "they were a busy comic shop on a Wednesday." Cool. I called Radar Toys and Nostalgia Collectibles and asked them for the same graphic novel. The first politely asked me to hold while they looked through their computer inventory, then apologized that they didn't have it. The second recognized the book and also apologized that he didn't have it. Y'know. Basic customer service stuff. A customer calls because they're hoping to make a purchase. If that's frustrated or met with indigence and condescension, why would they patronize your store? I don't like posting negative reviews, but I still feel gross about the interaction. I don't plan on returning to the store again anytime soon because of it. the other stores I mentioned have better prices, are closer to me, and have much better service.
