Each room is a work of art, with hardwood floors, beautiful beds, and windows overlooking various patios and the nearby neighborhood. The service is impeccable. The people are extremely gracious, kind, thoughtful, and responsive. The food is excellent, thoughtfully made, and a perfect breakfast after a night of sleep in a gorgeous mansion. Our wonderful hosts, Brad and Susan were warm and welcoming, and so kind and gracious. Our dinner, prepared by Susan, was absolutely delicious (even the kids liked it!). The house itself was spectacular, with so many historic architectural features intact, and Brad's knowledge of the history there was vast and impressive. This is a truly special place, and the care, respect, and consideration that Brad and Susan have showed this remarkable home was clear and so appreciated. This one of a kind place is absolutely worth a visit, and Emporia is lucky to have it and its caretakers. Very close proximity to restaurants and other venues such as Applebee's, IHOP, Starbucks, Panda Express, Burger King, etc (Walmart is also in walking distance). 3. Very good customer service from nearly all employees (big shout out to Annette). 4. Mostly quiet environment during M-F. 5. Very clean, with the hotel seemingly off of a recent upgrade/renovation. Though not in lovely downtown Emporia (probably a 10-12 minute drive), the campus of Emporia State with the National Teacher's Hall of Fame is a couple minutes drive from the Hampton Inn. Breakfast at this location is consistent with the brand anywhere else, yet even that's not so bad. Overall, the Hampton Inn of Emporia is a great option to stay at when traveling to or from the Kansas metro area, or beyond.
