I hired Boyd's tree service to cut, remove and grind out 2 large pines, topsoil and seed the areas…read more I specifically asked him, "does that stump grinding quote include all the cleanup, chip removal, and leveling ground to the surrounding area? Just want to make sure because I'm in a wheelchair and cannot do that stuff myself". And, "So to make it look like the trees were never there, it'll be $1,900? How soon can you do it?" They left a very large root sticking up out of the soil on one of them and a big part of the actual stump on the other one was not ground down below the surrounding ground surface and they just covered it up. There were wood chips all over my yard and driveway. There were 1-1/2 inch rock around the trees. When they left, there were rocks all over my yard, way away from where they were working! They were suppose to seed it as well and did not do that either. I text him multiple times to try to find out when he could come back and finish their incomplete job. He ignored my messages a couple times, which is not unusual because I had to text him multiple times to get him to answer me on several other occasions. The owner left about 2 hours before his workers were done and unfortunately I paid him the remaining balance before the work was completely finished. And now I cannot get him to come back and finish grinding the stump out. He also had to return to my father's house to regrind stumps! Just a word of caution if you hire them! I will say, they did a good job cutting the trees down but that's where the good job ended! And now I have to hire someone else to come finish their incomplete stump grinding job. And I had to hire a kid to come help my father rake up all the rock and wood chips, so my lawn mower didn't get damaged or shoot a rock at my neighbors car or house! You can see for yourself, in these pictures, all of these things I've mentioned above. This is what Boyd's considers a finished job!

Chris worked his tail off to get our property cleaned up. He did an excellent job. He didn't do anything without checking with us first and did a good job on cleaning things up. He was helpful and responsive when we had questions. Now...something special about Chris. On our property, we have small area where we have buried a number of our past family pets. We have little rock piles over each and a concrete stone memorium. The storms devastated that part of the woods, leaving it a tangled mess of huge downed trees and branches. Not only did Chris clean that up, he used his skills as a logger to make a reflection chair out of one of the huge trees that had fallen there. We can sit in this chair and reflect on the good times with our former pets. That should you a good idea of the character of the owner of Eager Beaver Logging.

We love the roof we had Bontrager replace on our home and garage. I wish I would have found them…read moresooner!! I wasted too much time waiting for other contractors to get back to me. After a severe storm in our area, we had two large trees destroy a new metal roof we just put on our home and it took out a large portion of the garage roof. At a time when it's hard to find anyone to give you an estimate or return a call.. the Bontrager's were on it in a heartbeat. I had a quote in a few days, not weeks and they scheduled the project as soon as the materials came in, because we had an area on the side of the roof where rain, bees, etc. could enter in, so we were given top priority. Not only did the metal roof and old shingles need to be replaced, (which both structures now have metal roofs) the overhang and rafters of the roof needed to be repaired too. They are affordable, efficient, friendly and the work they completed in 7 hours was amazing. I will refer Bontrager to anyone needing a roof or any carpentry done. Thank you
