The Bricin - Wonderful gift store on the first floor, restaurant on the second.

We loved the Bricin!! The parsnip and potato soup was a real treat. The lamb boxty was tender and delicious and the nut entree was a real hit. For dessert, the apple pear crumble was outstanding. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful and the service was exceptional! We will be back!!

We had a lovely dinner at Bricín. Our rack of lamb was tender and delicious. The service staff was very attentive and nice. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet enough that we could easily talk to each other without having to yell. I highly recommend calling and making a reservation as this place was busy!

Warm chocolate cake with added vanilla ice cream, and banoffee pie.

Call or email to make a reservation! Great ambiance, service, food, and value. The boxty (and cake) was part of their early-bird 3-course special (6-6:45pm), and was delicious.

Dinner and service was amazing last night. We didn't have reservations but had to go wait about 30 mins. We were grateful that we got into the restaurant. It was one of my best meals this trip. We had the Kerry rack of lamb and chicken Boxty. You can only get boxty at this restaurant and it is a treat. Everything was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.t

If you are a tourist an you aren't sure what to order, I 100% recommended trying the Boxty. When me and my friends came here recently I was pretty excited. We had previously been hanging in Dublin for awhile and were really looking forward to getting away from the city and having a more traditional meal. From the minute you walk and see the decor you'll definitely feel the like you went back in time but in a good way. When we got there a nice gentleman asked if we had reservations and we said unfortunately no. However he quickly replied that we are "a pleasant surprise." It was from this point that I knew I was going to have an amazing dinner. Don't ask me why. We passed by numerous of tables and as we passed nearby workers, either they greeted us or passed by with a smile. This place just reaffirmed why I loved this country so much. Everyone was just looked so damn happy and it just made me feel so warm. We were sat at the table and shortly after we ordered. Now I ordered the Oven Roasted Duck Breast. It was amazing and also recommend. I think up to this point I had been eating a lot of heavy meat so I wanted to dial it back a little bit. I will also say that I loved the colcannon. I love potato but definitely despise unwanted greens. However I loved these potatoes. There was never a bit where I was like, "Mannnnn...Why put greens in your potatoes?" There was a slight creaminess to them..somehow? I don't know what was all in it. I don't even know if they do put greens but any bite I had of those potatoes was pure bliss. Just like the Duck. I mean it was already good on its own but then you add the port wine reduction and it takes you to flavor-town. Speaking of flavor-town... Lets talk Boxty. So first time here? Get the boxty. Been here before? Cool. Get the Boxty. Don't know what to order. I got you. GET THE BOXTY. Quit playing with me man. Oh and get it with the lamb. Don't chicken out. But seriously the restaurant describes it as a potato pancake which is pretty close. But I almost would compare it to an omelette or omurice. You have this perfectly cooked potato omelette but when you break the contents and get to the treasure inside...my god...Now I know some people are going to say some comment about Lamb and gamey and that's why "blah blah blah." Just throw it out the window. Just do it. Order the Boxty with the Lamb. I promise it will change your perspective on the meat itself. Technically it even has help because they cook it in a curry sauce to get even more flavors out of the dish itself. Did I mention all of this is wrapped in a potato omelette? Ugh...you just have to order this an experience the magic yourself. When I come back to Ireland, Bricin is definitely at the top of the list to come back to.

Catching up on Yelp reviews as I visited Bricin back in October while I was on a family holiday. Bricin is rated as one of the best restaurants in Killarney and it did not disappoint! The ambiance was a cute/cozy restaurant upstairs above the shop. Literally felt like you were in someone's house and it felt like traditional Irish. We did not make a reservation as we went at opening on a Tuesday night. But I would highly recommend making a reservation as we were lucky enough to get a table by walking-in and the place is pretty small. We ordered a mix of the 2 & 3-course early bird specials for €27-€30. I had the seafood chowder, bruschetta, and Boxty with Irish Lamb. The seafood chowder was excellent. It was very rich and very creamy with big chunks of seafood (with mussels). The brown bread was the best brown bread that I had in Ireland as it was sweeter and softer. Most of the brown breads that I had in Ireland were too dry. This was the first time that I had Boxty and I thought it was amazing! The vegetables were very fresh. The marinated/brown sauce was very flavorful and the beef was really good too! The Boxty was very soft and fluffy with great flavor. For dessert, we ordered the special, Banoffee Pie. It was amazing and it really hit the spot! For drinks, I was drinking Irish whiskey the entire time and they had a good list. Lisa, our server, was friendly and great! Prices were a little more expensive for Killarney, but I thought they were reasonable for how good the food was. Overall, Bricin was unanimously the best meal that we had in Ireland as a family and I would highly recommend trying it!

Lovely place for dinner. Super friendly service. I sat down, and the waitress offered me a lovely book collection of photos of Killarney National Park to enjoy as I waited for my food. And a lovely, friendly Irish local saw the photos and started chatting up with me. Love how super friendly and charming the Irish are. Food was fresh and utmost quality. Nice ambiance. Located upstairs of a cute gift shop. Of course, it got me and I found some books. Wine selection is nice too. Don't really drink but had Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and it was just lovely. Highly recommend for nice, fine, yummy dining.

Very cool upstairs restaurant above a super cute shop where I got an Ireland made raincoat! It was a bit loud where we sat due to 2 large parties, but I enjoyed a traditional Irish boxty for the first time which was amazing!! All the food was really great! The service was great! This was our favorite dinner in Killarney, hands down!

    Seafood Chowder

Not only did Johnny greet us at the door, he made our service feel personalized. The Seafood Chowder was incredible, and the Boxty with Chicken Fillet & Vegetables was absolutely divine! Walnuts in the brown bread were an unexpectedly delightful addition, as well. The atmosphere throughout is warm and inviting and gives the patron a sense of comfort and history. We will be making return trips as frequently as possible.

The pie of the day, not on the menu, was steak and kidney, which I had to try "for research purposes". The pastry crust extended to the sides and bottom so it fully enclosed the filling and was served "freestanding". Crust and gravy were excellent. In the filling, both the steak and the kidneys were plentiful. My research completed, I probably wouldn't order it again; just give me the steak - no more kidneys please! Nevertheless I did enjoy and finished it. This was served with decent fries and a truly excellent green salad: a variety of leafy greens, radishes, cucumbers, pickled onions, and pre-dressed with a vinaigrette. The wife had the Beef & Guinness Casserole, served with brown bread. Along with steak there were also plentiful veggies (root vegetables and celery) and mashed potatoes in the center. She liked it. I tried it and agreed. I would get that next time. I had a Jameson Old Fashioned to drink and it was the best Old Fashioned I've had in some time. The unusually large twisted orange peel probably contributed and it may have had more than the customary amount of bitters. The wife's tea was amusingly served with a knitted "cozy" keeping the teapot hot. For dessert we shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding, served with vanilla ice cream, attractively presented with a dusting of sugar, whipped cream, and a ground cherry complete with its leaves. I'd rate it second among the three I've tried so far. Would certainly order it again. As for the pub I can't say. It has a reputation for good traditional Irish music every night but unfortunately not until 9:30, way too late for us. Sadly we're just not pub people.

The menu has lots of inventive twists on the classic Irish pub menu. We started with the warm garlic bread with Brie and honey-delicious and sticky (bit they give you wet wipes). We also tried their version of a wedge salad which was fine but pales a bit when Compared to its American cousin. The real standout for uniqueness was the 7 oz filet served at the table on an 800 degree stone. It comes out seared in the kitchen on the stone so you can then finish it to your liking (hint: slice it to make things easier and faster). The steak came with several sides including patatas bravas, onion rings and more and at €46 was a decent deal. We shared all the courses and it was plenty of food. The modest wine list has several by the glass options but no real standouts. Glasses come in Two sizes. I REALLY enjoyed the smoked old fashioned drink with earthy woodsmoke trapped then released from the glass at the table. It's a bit tough on the servers-the layout-as it is harder to keep an eye on your customers so expect service to feel a little off/leisurely. A great time and a fun spot right in the heart of Killarney. Highly recommended.

We chose the prawn cocktail to start, roast supreme of chicken, and the 16 ounce t-bone. The prawn cocktail came in a large crystal serving dish with about 10 prawns covered in a Rose Marie sauce on a bed of lettuce. Prawns were well cooked, nice and tender, and sweet. Two slices of brown bread and butter. The chicken was lightly fried and came with a stuffing of thyme and spring onion, gravy and French fries. Chicken was well cooked, flavorful and juicy. The fries were nice and crispy. The t-bone was 16ounces and came with mushrooms, onions, onion rings and fries. The steak was cooked as requested, medium rare. The mushrooms were small button mushrooms with sautéed onions. Part of the steak was nice and tender but there were parts that were tough and grisly and fatty. It was okay but not something I would order again. The onion rings, 3, were heavily breaded, stuck together and were not appetizing to look at and definitely not to eat. The fries were nice and crispy and served very not. This was an okay meal but based on it I'm not sure we'd make a return trip. Seating was probably the most comfortable that we have found recently but the place is very noisy and makes it hard to hold a conversation. Service was mediocre in that once we got our main meal we didn't see a server to come back and check to see home things were. They were extremely busy so this might account for that but I'm not sure. .

We starting with a fish cake, that was quite good and included a tangy sweet sauce and a small salad with it. We got the fish cake as the first course of a two-course special. The main entreé was a Hake fish. It was an incredibly light and flaky white fish, that was served with a side salad and side of mash. There were two filets, however it appears one of the filets was not de-boned, which required some extra work on my part. Though, the flavor was fantastic. The sticky toffee pudding was mostly okay, but there was a burnt bitterness to it that was a touch off-putting. Ultimately, it was still satisfactory. Unfortunately, the service here was quite slow. It was difficult to get a waiter's attention for a dessert menu, and I was unable to flag down a waiter to put in my dessert order. After a few failed attempts I went up to the bar to do so. ...And to get the card machine to pay. Also, it really speaks to if you're in a touristy section of town when there's a notice about gratutites not being included. And it was only the 2nd time in my two weeks here that I was asked if I'd like to add a tip. I realize the tone of this review is rather negative because of the bad service on the night, but the food itself was rather good, despite being pricey for the portion provided. The quality of the fish alone is holding onto that fourth star by a thread. Would've been an easy five if the service was up to snuff though.

It came out quick! We all had pasta for our entrees - I went with the spaghetti alla pescatora which had several types of seafood in it - and I thought it was so good. Not what you would expect of this type of restaurant especially with how busy it was when we were here but it kept us entertained nonetheless! We were lucky that they allowed us to split the check up at the bar! It made our dining experience much easier and many restaurants don't like to split the check so this was much appreciated.
