Tour guide looked about 15 but did a great presentation of the bridal cave regarding all the marriages that have taken place there. (and then some!) Bridal Cave is absolutely breathtaking and truly lives up to its name as one of the most amazing caves we've ever visited. One of the highlights was seeing the Guardian Angel stalagmite--it was awe-inspiring and felt incredibly special. Our tour guide, Tripsy, was phenomenal. Her knowledge, passion, and storytelling brought the cave to life in a way that made the experience unforgettable. The magical moment when she used her black light to create the fairy dust illusion on the cave walls was pure enchantment--it felt like stepping into a hidden, magical world. It was also wonderfully romantic to see all the wedding photos from the couples who have been married inside the cave. Knowing so many love stories began in such a sacred, beautiful place made the experience even more meaningful and special. And the Mystery Lake... wow. The water was absolutely pristine, glowing with stunning shades of teal, green, and blue--so clear and beautiful it almost didn't seem real. Guided tour. All the employees are very kind and really enjoy telling you about the cave. Check online and see if you can get your ticket ahead. You might not need to buy ahead. We had a group of 7. It's early September, and the cave has an even temperature inside. It takes about an hour, depending if you take your time and look at everything or if you stay right with the tour guide. They don't mind you looking around. I randomly thought about it and had a black light on me. I was in the back of the group checking out all the UV reacting rocks and minerals. There is mild climbing on steps and slopes. However, it's pretty easy. There are a couple of very skinny parts, but you can sneak through. Nature is amazing. I highly recommend it. read more

Missouri has many caves and we only wanted to see 2-3 so we read many reviews and they served us well. This cave was probably the best we have ever seen. Hattie did a great job in the tour ...both with the information and warning us of any safety issues. There are some areas you have to duck down and some tight areas. But we had no trouble. Gift shop was smallish but had some nice rocks. The tour takes approximately 55 minutes. Highly recommend this tour. My only complaints are i was surprised they don't give discounts to veterans and why print out pictures when many dont want to purchase. Another nearby cave gives the picture as a gift. read more

No complains about the cave itself - that was quite spectacular. What ruined it for us was the tour guide. I don't know if he was just uncomfortable or was being paid to be cheesy - but was laying it on thick and it was downright annoying. Otherwise the outfits and staff were dingy and poorly presented. For as much money as they charge for a tour I would think they could invest some money back into the attraction. read more

Started off breaking a ceramic piece in the gift shop within the first 2 minutes, to which the workers quickly assured me was no worry, and refused to let me pay for it (would've been $22.50 and tax). The black light underground cave tour was absolutely incredible. Was nervous and felt anxious as we started but i quickly was immersed in what ended up being a beautiful experience with some truly wonderful people. Tripsy was an energetic fun tour guide who shared information incredibly well with her personal anecdotes and jokes. Bri in the gift shop was so nice both before and after the tour, (a 2 hour difference) and her smile never wavered! Would recommend this experience for any and everyone! read more

Visiting a cave, I can't help but wonder what the first explorers felt when they discovered it. Did they realize how big it was? Did they appreciate the unique beauty? Bridal Cave is an active cave. Water drops everywhere are making those cool straws, stalagmites, and stalactites. You can experience science in person. I have visited caves with colorful light shows, but none are as packed with formations as this cave. The grounds outside the cave are beautiful too. If you're willing to spend the money for the tour, it's a fun experience. It is a full one hour of walking/standing, so if this is a challenge, I wouldn't recommend it. There are no places to sit. The walkway can be slippery, so closed toe shoes with rubber soles are best, and you might want a long sleeved shirt if you chill. There are some narrow pathways, so larger individuals (even very well endowed ones) may have to squish, and some may not fit through one space. Every staff member we met was very professional and polite. We were glad we went. read more

We came here in July- sorry for the late review, but I wanted to make it a point to let everyone know how amazing this spot is. We arrived mid morning and was able to book a tour within an hour of arriving. There were seven of us and there was no problem accommodating. They have a wonderful gift shop to browse while waiting. They have the coolest crystals, gems, salt lamps, jewelry, everything. They definitely got a bit of my money. The caves are incredible. The natural formations and the history is just amazing. The tour groups probably have about 30 people in each, and things can get a little tight, but it works. I wore flipflops, but if you tend to be unsteady on your feet, you may want shoes cause there are some slippery spots. Also, if you are afraid of right spaces, keep in mind that there are some tight spaces. Our tour guide was a young guy- maybe even a kid. He knew some history and cracked a few jokes, but the best part was admiring how beautiful everything was. read more

We had a party of 15 and they put us with a party of 12. 27 people for a tour is ridiculous! Our party had people because it was a family vacation from their 70's and some were overweight. The ugliness of the first party about us being slow and might not fit thru areas of the cave. Made the tour unpleasant, tour guide did not say anything to curb comments. but the cave was beautiful but I will never be back due to the thoughtlessness of the company of putting two large parties together like they did. read more

From the mining to the cave tour we had a 5 star experience. The lady who runs the gift shop with the tickets and mining and rocks. So nice. Helped me get the kids set up. Both ladies working that day were beyond helpful and went above and beyond to entertain my children while we waited for our tour. The mining is so fun with lots of rocks for the kiddos. They had fish food out to feed the fish. Once we made it to our tour, the gentlemen that took us through was beyond informative and entertaining. He really knows how to give a tour. For years I have wanted to check out one of the local caves during our annual (at least) Ozarks vacations, but COVID and issues with proximity to the attractions have always held us back. Our entire family loved Bridal Cave - before we even left our 8-year-old was asking when we could come back. The tour lasted about an hour which was perfect - not too long or short. The cave, as expected, required some navigation through some VERY narrow pathways, crouching and uneven ground. For the most part, the concrete walkways were easy to traverse, but if you are claustrophobic or have mobility issues, this may not be the stop for you. The caves, Mystery Lake and the associated history were very interesting to learn about. It is amazing how old some of the formations were. On the way out they had a great gift shop. I highly recommend if in the area! read more

At one point, he even turned off all the lights in the cave, after asking everyone's permission, to show us the true experience that the cave explorers would have had! This is the first cave that I've ever been to. We were in the Ozarks and wanted to find something to do . We had an amazing time. We did take the tour so they gave us lots of information. It's funny because there are some tight places and there's places that you have to duck so you don't hit your head so it's good for a short petite person. My husband struggled a bit because he's tall lol. But we had so much fun. You have to check out their gift shop so many stones for so many reasons Crystal gem salt, lamps, jewelry everything you can think of that had to do with rocks. If you are a spiritual person, this place will have meaning for you. I just felt at peace and looking at all the gemstones and their meanings just wow. You do have to be careful because there are some slippery spots because water drips from the top. Definitely recommend flip-flops or gym shoes that can get wet. The reason that it's called bridal Cave. They had weddings there, and I believe they still do. read more

This was my first time and my wife's first time to the Ozarks. We noticed the sign for it on the way down and it sounded interesting so we bought tickets. The cave was amazing! Our guide was Evan, and he had a lot of good information on the cave. It was truly an experience to remember! The only weird thing is that my wife and I have been extremely sleepy at night since visiting. Lol. Is this a side effect of the cave or the Ozarks? Did we bring back some sleepy spirits with us? Ha! Do not go if easily claustrophobic or tall!! A long overdue review. My boyfriend and I visited Bridal Cave for the first time in October 2020. What I wish I knew about the tour was how narrow spots are and low hanging rocks. As a 5' 4" female, the low ceiling and narrow spots were fine. However my 6' 2" broad boyfriend did not fare so well. At different points, he was completely bent over trying to avoid the roof. Then on the way back, he hit his head... hard. A few seconds later, comes a rush of blood down his face. I alert the guide and we were given his personal handkerchief to stop the bleeding. Thankfully it stopped shortly after but no other first aid was offered. We were told we could walk the rest of the route back alone if we wanted. As already a little embarrassed and weary of navigating the route alone, we stayed with the group. We were given a first aid kit when we returned and I got him bandaged up. We filled out an incident form but none of the staff seemed too worried or apologetic. We left our number on the form and no one ever called to see how he was. Just really, really disappointing. I would find somewhere else to give my business. read more

If you've got small kids, this is the perfect cave tour experience. We had our young grandkids with us, and frankly, they get bored & rambunctious quickly. Our tour guide kept them engaged. She happily answered questions and passed on lots of interesting facts. The caves are impressive, without going too deep underground. The tour was about 90 minutes and certainly not physically taxing. We had a group of 18 and everyone enjoyed. Even the gift shop folks were exceptionally gracious. If you get off to a late start .... you can still show up around 3:30 and get the full tour. This isn't the biggest cave, or the most spectacular cavern structure, but it was fun. $20 for adults and $10 for kids struck me as a bit pricey. No discounts for Seniors, AAA, AARP offered. read more

It just so happened to be a rainy day at the lake and what else is there to do on a rainy day? Cave tour seemed the way to go to keep the kids and parents happy. I've been on a tour of a cave in Bermuda . This one is different and pretty amazing . Definitely visit this venue if In the area and you have a couple of hours to kill. Reasonable for the price . Only shortcoming is it is not for overweight people or those with physical limitations. There there are several sections where you have to squeeze between tight rock formations on the path/tour. Some sections you have to duck and walk at same time and that can be physically demanding. I think they should warn all visitors before paying and entering . I'm 6ft 240 and it was tight for me. One gentleman who I estimate outweighed me by 40 lbs has a difficult time and almost could not continue 1/3 of the way in . Management failed to warn our tour group of these limitations. I've seen other reviews here for this venue that complained of same. You've been warned!!!! read more

Happened upon this place by accident and what a nice accident it was. Myself, wife and son had a great time here. We have been to a lot of cave systems and this one is on the smaller size but is still really cool. It has about 100 weddings a year in the bridal chamber and over 3000 total. A Guinness record. The drapery, straws and hidden lake are just some of the ape rivals you will see. The guides are very knowledgeable and the history of the cave has some mysteries of its own. There is also a nature trail that is free. There is a great gift shop and a sluicing area for the kids. A definite stop by if you are in the area. read more

The kids had a great time ! They are 3 and 5 and the tour was not too long for them and they were able to manage walking on their own for the entirety. It's was interesting enough for all ages. Great experience! We did a few caves during our trip and this was our favorite. Great guide!

A cool adventure only a few hours SE of Kansas City. We like to do little day trips in the spring and fall. This is a good one and I think the tickets were $18. If you stop and think about it, the $18 isn't a bad price given the nice facilities and the wonderful guided tour. The cave is well lit and well maintained and our guide, a young, personable fellow was extremely knowledgeable and understandable. He was comprehensive and professional, patient and enthusiastically fielded questions. We enjoy exploring caves, supervised like this. It's incredible to explore something without the danger. The location at Thunder Mountain is gorgeous, even as the trees are greening up and the dogwood are in bloom. We highly recommend a trip to Bridal Cave. read more
